Dozens of barrels filled with dark purple liquid burst open all around the estate. Each of them released a pungent, shadowy miasma that spread throughout the surroundings.

The air grew thick with a dark purple, toxic mist. Everything that the mist touched instantly started to decay. The contents of these barrels were extrely poisonous and, in theory, could even corrode hard tals.

And now... this poisonous liquid, which was slowly transforming into mist as it ca in contact with oxygen, was released within the estate.

Soon, the first cultist, a Mana Foundation Magus, fell to the mist’s silent, toxic embrace. The man had inhaled the poison, and within monts, his internal organs had been corroded.

As more and more cultists fell to the poison, their screams rged together to form a terrifying lody of death.

Standing at the center of it all, with every inch of his body sared in so kind of ointnt and his facial orifices stuffed with wax, Adam sighed heavily.

He did not care about the deaths of these cultists. But his estate... once the toxic mist had done its job, there would be nothing left of this place he called ho.

The raven-haired youth stood motionlessly, thinking about the repercussions of his actions and what the future had in store for him.

anwhile, the Mana Vortex-level cultists and their undead creatures that had surrounded him looked around in utter horror.

Mana Foundation Magi were dying like flies. Mana Liquefaction Magi were holding their breaths, desperately struggling to survive. Lastly, although nothing was happening to them—the Mana Vortex Magi—yet, they knew it was only a matter of ti.

Just what did this bastard do?!

Leeroy covered his nose and mouth and glared at Adam. Seeing the youth remained still with even his eyes closed, he couldn’t help but subconsciously close his eyes as well.

The only ones who seed to be completely unaffected by the poisonous mists were the undead creatures—for obvious reasons. Their undying bodies were highly resistant to cold and poison, after all.

So, with a simple ntal command, he ordered all of his undead creatures to attack Adam. At the sa ti, through Mind Whisper, he commanded his comrades to quickly leave the estate. They could still leave the one-way barrier since they had the ans to.

The Mana Foundation and Mana Liquefaction Magi might be dood, but the Mana Vortex Magi, with their enhanced physiques and high tabolism, still had a good chance. If they left the estate imdiately, they could still survive the poison.

This devious little bastard!

Leeroy roared inwardly as he rushed to the edge of the barriers along with the rest of the Magi. Behind him, the wave of undead creatures had already drowned the Dark King. He did not care about the outco of that battle.

All he cared for was his own survival. Nothing else mattered.

As he dashed away from the center of the estate, he heard the desperate and miserable screams of the other cultists succumbing to the poison. Their screams were so blood-curdling that it caused a chill to crawl down his spine.

He could hear the poisonous mist sizzle and eat away at their flesh, their bones, and finally thier organs. He could hear the sound of trees corroding away and falling to the ground. He could hear the sound of boulders sizzling into little crumbs.

Faster! Faster! Faster!

Unprecedented panic gripped Leeroy’s heart. This was a type of fear that he had never felt before. He almost had this senseless feeling that the fear would kill him quicker than the poison could.

What... what is this feeling?!

And then he felt it...

A light tingling sensation on his skin, followed by a burning pain that radiated inward. Finally, the poison was beginning to affect his skin.

Realizing that, he hastened up even more. As long as he could exit the one-way barrier, he would be safe. He desperately hoped so.

Conjuring the small disk that would allow him passage through the barrier, he quickly tried to inject mana into it to activate it. But before he could, the circular disk slipped through his trembling fingers.

His heart was pounding in his chest, and he feared that it would burst open.

Leeroy clutched at his chest, coming to a halt. He gritted his teeth, thinking to himself in absolute horror, What... what is this fear?

This fear...

What... what is this...

Leeroy and the rest of the Mana Vortex Magi were feeling extrely afraid. Of course, with a toxic mist running rampant through the estate, they were right to feel afraid.

But this was sothing more.

Sothing more than fear.

And why wouldn’t it be?

Adam had cast a spell on them, after all.

Rank 3 Spell: Dread!

This spell from the School of Enchantnt instilled terror in the targets, leaving them paralyzed for a few fleeting monts. In that instant, their minds could focus on nothing but the fear gripping their hearts.

And those few fleeting monts... were all Adam needed.

He was already standing by the edge of the barrier with the Staff of Calamity in hand, waiting for them.

As for the ’Adam’ that the undead creatures were attacking in the center of the estate?

Rank 3 Spell: True Illusion!

The real Adam had always been standing by the barrier, patiently waiting for his prey to deliver themselves to him. And now they finally had.

His eyes were still waxed shut—and so were his other facial orifices—so he used the Sphere of Resonance to detect his enemy’s movents.

Then, he took a silent step forward, brandished the Staff of Calamity, and began the slaughter.

This ti, however, it wasn’t weak and helpless cultists falling to their deaths, but powerful Mana Vortex Magi.

Adam cast a few more spells from the School of Enchantnt, ensuring that these fifty or so Mana Vortex-level cultists posed as little a threat as possible, then he started taking them down one by one.

About half an hour later, the dark purple mist within the barrier had grown so dense that nothing but the poison could be seen. It seeped into every corner of the estate, drowning it in rot and terror.

Thankfully, the barrier was able to contain it. That was the gamble Adam had taken, and fortunately, it had paid off. It was truly a one-way barrier, not even allowing the mist to escape.

A few monts later, a lone, naked figure erged from within the barrier. Tattered scraps of corroded robes clung to his body, which was slick with oily ointnt, and his facial orifices were sealed with amber wax.

Once outside, he infused mana into the small circular disk, adjusting the barrier’s paraters, now ensuring nothing could enter from outside as well.

Adam peeled away the wax sealing his eyes, then turned around to face the giant barrier containing a sea of dark purple mist within.

His gaze drifted to the tal plaque lying among the rubble that once marked the boundary of his estate.

It read: Constantine Estate.

Adam exhaled deeply, then turned back around with a slightly forlorn look on his face, and disappeared into the darkness.

His estate lay in ruins, littered with the corpses of cultists and their undead thralls.

And he was holess...

Once again.
