In the mystical depths of the spirit world, where countless mysteries and unknown horrors existed, Adam found himself...

Falling once again.

The raven-haired youth struggled to steady himself as he plumted downward like a broken kite. He gritted his teeth and scread inwardly:

Why the hell am I always falling in this place?!!

Despite having achieved so surface-level comprehension of the ability Spirit World Traversal, which he had inherited from Valerian, he still found it difficult to get a hold of himself.

The wind assaulted him from all sides. Was it the wind? Or was it water? Or was it nothing? He, in fact, did not know. Sothing assaulted him from all sides, making it difficult to steady himself. Moreover, he did not even know if he was falling downward or soaring upward.

All he knew was that he was in motion, gaining speed with each second that passed. But it sure felt like he was falling down, down, and even deeper into the void.

Speaking of passing seconds, ti had lost all aning. In truth, Adam had no idea how long he had been falling for. The very concepts of ti and space had been tangled, warped into a strange, magical sludge that defied logic.

It stretched in every direction, bleeding into the farthest corners of the spirit world, a realm where reality twisted and the infinite mysteries reigned supre.

And as if that was not enough...

"You wicked brat! How dare you?! Do you have any idea what you’ve done?! I’ll kill you if it’s the last thing I do! You won’t escape ! You’ll never escape ! Just you wait!"

Felix, the Mana Core Magus, was right on his heels. In fact, the mont the two had crossed into the spirit world, he had already cast a powerful binding spell, one that tethered him directly to Adam, ensuring that the two never separated.

A thick, ethereal chain jutted out from Felix’s palm, stretching into the void and coiling tightly around Adam’s neck. Now, no matter where Adam went, Felix would follow without fail.

The words spoken by Felix echoed inside Adam’s ears all at once. It took a short while for the youth to understand what he was saying, but none of that mattered. His plan to trick his enemy and exile him into the depths of the spirit world had failed. Spectacularly.

He gritted his teeth and tried to break the chain around his neck, but no matter what he did, it just wouldn’t budge. Adam, who had his eyes closed all this while, suddenly opened them, then imdiately closed them back.

In that brief mont, he felt as if he’d seen a lifeti’s worth of moving images and scenery. It was too much information for him to process, and he couldn’t help but grimace.

He saw a colossal giant in the distance, aimlessly strolling through the void. He saw a herd of flying elephants bathe under a starry waterfall. He saw a giant peacock fighting an invisible entity. Or the peacock might have just been hallucinating. Or was he hallucinating?

The last thing he saw before closing his eyes was a group of humanoids wearing pink garnts and dancing in front of a rock. Was he imagining it, or did the rock seem pleased with their performance?

FOCUS!

He scread inwardly. He was getting carried away by the myriad wonders of the spirit world while a vengeful Mana Core Magus was in hot pursuit.

Adam even felt that Felix no longer cared about the Cult Leader’s strict orders of apprehending him. He felt that Felix would kill him without a shadow of doubt.

What to do? What to do? He thought to himself, apprehension gripping his heart.

His plan had been simple but bold: to forcefully drag Felix into the spirit world, then, in the blink of an eye, teleport back to the material world, leaving his enemy trapped in this mystical dinsion for all of eternity.

In theory, it seed entirely doable. Unlike the cultist, Adam had two powerful anchors tying him to the material world.

The first was the Staff of Calamity, bound directly to his soul, its presence acting like a beacon. The second were the Serpents of War, still rampaging through the streets of Ravenfell, maintaining an active link to the summoner.

Moreover, with Spirit World Traversal and both anchors in place, returning to the material world should have been simple.

It should have...

But who would have thought that the cutlist would have been so quick on his feet? As soon as Felix realized that he had arrived at the spirit world and had no way of returning to the material world, he took a gamble and tied himself to his target.

He had a feeling that the raven-haired youth surely knew of a way out. Or, why else would he bring him to this mystical dinsion? He didn’t think the Dark King was foolish enough to battle him in a suicidal manner.

And his gamble had paid off.

Now, whenever Adam chose to return to the material world, Felix, too, would be able to leave with him.

"Quickly get us out of this hell! You hear , boy?! Get us out now! Or I’ll kill you!"

Once again, Felix’s voice echoed inside Adam’s ears, his words overlapping, ringing all at once, in a jarring cacophony that stirred confusion, frustration, and a hint of dread.

Adam covered his ears in annoyance. "Shut the hell up, ya bastard!"

Inwardly, he thought to himself in fury, I took such a big risk to bring you here. Do you really think I’ll return empty-handed?

A slightly crazed glint flashed in his dark pupils. His grip on the chain around his neck tightened, and he murmured, "If I can’t break this... I’ll break you then..."

He quickly scanned his surroundings, which were still fast-moving. A sea of myriad colors, a fountain of rainbow, and the vast starry sky. The spirit world was truly breathtaking. But behind its beautiful facade lay the unknown.

And that was what Adam was aiming for!

His eyes locked onto a patch of a floating island with a snowy hill at the center. Everything seed fine except for the fact that the island was upside down, floating in the vast nothingness of a sea of colors.

Adam’s eyes flickered with resolution, and the next mont, he used Spirit World Traversal to fly towards the mysterious island, forcefully dragging Felix behind him.

And before he knew it...

There was a sound of mirrors breaking, the world around Adam shattered into countless fragnts, each reflecting his visage from multiple different angles. Then, he felt like he had passed through a thick... or perhaps, a thin mbrane... or was it a curtain?

At last, he landed gracelessly on solid ground. The next thing he knew, he was surrounded by snow, and a freezing wind howled from all sides, cutting through him and making his body shudder violently.

Then ca a heavy thud behind him.

Adam’s eyes narrowed as he turned to see Felix’s figure sprawled in the snow, looking battered and montarily stunned.

And in that very mont...

The lotus pattern in Adam’s dark eyes glowed with a cunning, calculating light!
