The beasts pounced on the unprepared Adam, burying him beneath a writhing mass of fangs and claws. The tide of beasts had erged from their lairs, their eyes blazing with feral madness.

For a mont, it seed that the youth’s plan would fail before it had even begun. The beasts had already encircled him completely, pressing down with relentless weight, and with each passing second, more and more vicious creatures lept onto him, eager to tear his flesh.

But then, sothing unexpected happened...

Boom!

The Staff of Calamity turned into a whirlwind of violence, leaving clouds of bloodmist and severed corpses.

As chunks of destroyed flesh and organs rained down from above, Adam stood amidst the swarm of beasts, his lip curled into an unnatural grin.

He took a deep breath, and then...

"HAHAHAHA!!"

His hideous figure radiated vicious madness, fiercer than the madness gleaming in the beasts’ eyes. For a brief mont, the beasts around him froze in slight unease.

This figure they had surrounded... turned out to be a bigger, crazier beast than any of them!

"Gege! How’re you holdin’ up?" Adam grinned.

The mimic was now positioned in front of Adam’s chest. He had shifted it before the beasts lunged onto him, ensuring it stayed unhard.

He, on the other hand, was gravely injured, his robes shredded, and his body riddled with countless bloody scars.

But what else was new?

"Gege..." The mimic whimpered in fear.

"Relax," Adam said with a grin, shifting his attention to the feral beasts who were closing in on him. "I won’t let you die. If you’re dead, then who will I talk to?"

"Gege..." It was hard to know if the mimic feared death more... or Adam himself.

And in the next heartbeat, the beasts attacked him once again. But this ti, Adam was prepared.

The Laughing God whispered in his ears, and he listened with a wide grin.

He burst into laughter as his figure blurred. Laughing out loud, he launched into the Phantom Dance, his figure moving forward with a vicious, blood-chilling grace of a diabolical killer.

Blood mists and howls of anguish engulfed him like a mantle of death. He laughed and laughed and laughed, and he killed and killed and killed, bringing his already terrifying dance of death to a truly chilling level of savagery.

Unable to cast spells, Adam was forced to rely on nothing but his trusty staff and the Astral Tyrant Manual. As a result, his proficiency with both increased significantly.

On top of that, he was also getting close to that enlightennt he had glimpsed regarding the Phantom Dance back in Ravenfell. He knew it... he wasn’t that far.

Carving a bloody trail of corpses, Adam finally made it out of the beasts’ encirclent. Although he sustained injuries because of the unexpected developnt, it did not hinder his plan. He was used to the pain, anyway.

Expanding his Sphere of Resonance to the maximum output, he quickly located the dod building. He positioned himself in that direction, then viciously drove one end of the staff into the ground, securing a firm purchase.

Before the next wave of beasts could strike, he commanded the staff to extend. He was taken off his feet, and the staff kept stretching farther and farther. At the right mont, he shrank the staff back to its normal size, plumting from the sky straight towards the dod roof.

This ti, however, he landed nimbly on the surface. He then turned around and sensed the hundreds of feral beasts running in his direction. For now, all their attention was on him.

Adam’s lips curled into a wicked grin as he whispered, "And... now!"

In that exact mont, sothing about the beasts shifted. A far more alluring scent drew their attention, pulling their gaze away from Adam and towards the towering figure patrolling the hall inside the dod building.

Soon, the feral madness in their eyes deepened, and they all charged at the steel golem without thought, irresistibly drawn to the crimson liquid coating its body.

The red powder they had inhaled drove them into a frenzy, causing them to attack the golem without thought. The combination of the two concoctions ignited a wildfire of madness, a storm of steel and blood.

Adam had already slipped in through the hole in the roof. He silently positioned himself on the wooden beam and extended his senses towards the ferocious battle unfolding in the hall below.

Hundreds of creatures, led by Mana Vortex-level beasts, attacked the steel golem with reckless abandon! The floor was already littered with corpses, and rivers of blood ran through the hall.

The sheer scale of the carnage sent a shiver down Adam’s spine.

"See that, Gege?" he said with a nervous grin. "The enemy of my enemy is an ally and whatnot. Though in this case, neither is an ally, and I want them all dead."

"Gege!" The mimic seed oddly excited watching the carnage down below.

Adam’s lips twitched, and he murmured, "What a weirdo!"

Then, he silently crawled down the pillar, hiding from the senses of the beasts as well as the steel golem. Fortunately for him, all the beasts had their attention on the golem, and the golem itself was too preoccupied with the relentless onslaught to notice him.

But sensing the tide of battle, Adam couldn’t help but frown. It seed... that the steel golem had the upper hand!

A grim and foreboding feeling welled up in his heart, and his lips curled into an unsettling grin. He knew he had to ransack the armory as quickly as possible.

The golem had proven far stronger than Adam had anticipated. Even with hundreds of feral beasts, including dozens of Mana Vortex-level creatures, attacking him, the steel golem still seed to be able to co out on top.

Its body wasn’t rely armored for show. It was virtually indestructible. Coupled with the potent power source sustaining it, the golem seed unstoppable, tireless, and relentless!

Realizing that, Adam quietly entered the arched doorway leading underground. He needed to complete his objective before the golem eliminated all the frenzied beasts.

It didn’t take long for him to arrive at his destination. The staircase opened into a small chamber that, just as Adam had anticipated, served as an armory.

And when Adam extended his senses to observe the armory, his body involuntarily trembled, and only two simple words escaped his lips:

"No way..."
