The two Magi got ready for their final clash.
The Heavenly Demon stood proud and tall. On the other side, Wei Motian, despite being bruised and battered, was still in fighting shape.
Now that they had brought their fight to the ground, the outco of this battle would soon be decided.
A gust of wind suddenly blew, signalling the start of their final showdown.
And then... both Magi disappeared from their places. They shot towards one another, their figures a blur.
Wei Motian let out a maddening roar as he coated his fist with mana. Then, he viciously swung it at his opponent.
"That’s more like it!!!" The Heavenly Demon grinned as the opponent’s fist enlarged in his vision.
However, he didn’t respond with his own fist. Neither did he dodge nor evade the attack. Instead... he used the opponent’s strength against himself.
He quickly positioned himself at the most optimal spot, nimbly grabbed Wei Motian’s wrist and forearm, and then perford a brutal, over-the-shoulder throw.
BAM!
Wei Motian felt the wind knocked out of him. A small crater ford underneath him in an instant. Yet, he didn’t have a mont to recover because his opponent had already followed through with the next attack.
With shocking flexibility, the Heavenly Demon raised his leg—the knee almost touching his nose—and hamred it down, performing a stunning axe kick.
Boom!
His foot ended up hitting the ground instead as Wei Motian had rolled to the side at the last possible mont.
But before Wei Motian could even properly get to his feet, the Heavenly Demon had arrived before him once again.
A brutal knee kick to the face!
Blood sprayed from Wei Tian’s nose and mouth as he was flung into the distance. The opponent was too strong, too fast. He couldn’t even get ready for a proper counterattack.
He was completely overpowered!
Just as he finally stopped sliding across the ground, the Heavenly Demon had once again arrived before him.
Vaulting across the sky, and his fist enveloped in mana, the Heavenly Demon brought down his fist once again.
With another thunderous sound that echoed across the lands, Wei Motian once again managed to evade just in the nick of ti.
After a few rounds where he desperately evaded the Heavenly Demon’s attacks, Wei Motian had finally managed to draw enough space and get ready for a real counterattack.
Damn it, I have no other choice but to resort to that, Wei Motian thought to himself with a grave look on his face.
I was saving it in case I had to face the Arakuro Patriarch. But if I don’t use them now... I’m afraid...
He didn’t even dare finish his thought. The fact that he was getting defeated by this newcor was already insulting enough.
"Have you finally decided to get serious?" The Heavenly Demon asked in a mocking voice.
Wei Motian breathed heavily as he covertly dropped an ’item’ to the ground. The mont it touched the ground, it ca alive and burrowed deep beneath the earth.
"Tell ," he began. "Who are you? Where did you co from? A powerful warrior like you... how did you remain hidden all this while?"
"You’re full of questions now, aren’t ya?" The Heavenly Demon sneered. "You’re trying to buy ti? For what—"
Suddenly, his expression froze.
The ground beneath him collapsed, and in the next mont, a gigantic maw filled with razor-sharp teeth lunged towards him. At the sa ti, Wei Motian produced a crystal sphere and hurled it towards him.
A two-pronged attack!
If the Heavenly Demon chose to deal with the creature below, then the crystal sphere that was radiating imnse danger would deal with him. But if he chose to block the sphere instead, then the creature below would swallow him whole.
As the two diabolical attacks closed in on him, the Heavenly Demon was forced to make a choice.
And then...
BOOOOM!!!
The world was enveloped in a blinding light.
Wei Motian’s lips curled into a victorious grin.
The creature beneath the Heavenly Demon was a puppet whose strength was equivalent to a Mana Core Magus. The insides of its gaping maw had faint gravitational properties that prevented the target from escaping. As for the crystal sphere, it contained compressed light magic equivalent to the might of a Rank 4 Spell.
However, both items could only be used once. Wei Motian was saving them to deal with the Araukuro Patriarch. But now, he was forced to use both of them in order to co out of this confrontation alive.
As the blind light receded, a giant, blackened crater beca visible. The puppet had already been reduced to dust because of the sphere. As for the Heavenly Demon...
He remained collapsed on his knees, half of his body burned from the aftermath of the crystal sphere.
Wei Motian’s brows arched in surprise as he walked towards him. "Not bad. Your defenses are stronger than I thought."
The Heavenly Demon simply glared at him in response, his body unable to obey his own commands.
Wei Motian finally arrived before him, his lips curling into a vicious grin. He retrieved a dagger from his ring and raised his hand.
"You did well," he said as he brought down his hand and dealt the killing blow. "Unfortunately, you were too cocky."
Wei Motian viciously lodged the dagger into his opponent’s neck.
Blood sprayed from the Heavenly Demon’s mouth and neck, but the next mont...
His lips curled into a smirk.
Right before Wei Motian’s very eyes, the Heavenly Demon’s body started to dissipate into gray smoke. His eyes widened, and only one word echoed inside his mind:
Illusion!
He quickly spun around, only to find the Heavenly Demon standing behind him with a ferocious grin on his face. In a state of panic, Wei Motian hastily augnted his fist with mana and swung it at him.
However, his hand ended up passing through gray smoke instead!
Another illusion?!
STAB!
Wei Motian lowered his head and saw a flaming blade protruding from his chest!
With a savage upward sweep of his arm, the Heavenly Demon tore through his heart and ripped the blade free from his shoulder.
Wei Motian managed to turn his body and miserably landed on his back. His gaze settled on his killer, and realization finally dawned on him.
He noticed that half of the Heavenly Demon’s body had been burned, and a dagger was buried deep within his neck.
So... that’s what... happened, Wei Motian thought to himself bitterly.
And soon, he breathed his last.
The Heavenly Demon stood victoriously over his corpse, his chest heaving up and down. He then grabbed Wei Motian by the hair and dragged him across the battlefield.
At last, he hurled his corpse at the feet of Hei Mang and the rest.
He... he’s dead, Hei Mang thought in utter terror. Now the Heavenly Demon is going to kill all of us!
But what happened next took Hei Mang and the rest by surprise.
"As witnesses to this battle, you will carry my ssage across the realm," The Heavenly Demon solemnly declared.
"Wei Motian is dead. The Qinglin Zhai is no more. By right of conquest, I will establish a new order. My own."
Hei Mang subconsciously gulped. Thankful for having his life spared, he got down to his knees. The rest followed suit.
Then he humbly said, "My Lord, p-please state the na of this new order."
Underneath the red oni mask, the Heavenly Demon grinned. He then raised his chin and proclaid:
"Heavenly Demon Divine Cult."
