Now reading: Chapter 1594 Emperor's Decree from Greatest Legacy of the Magus Universe, a Action novel by Esenel.

In the days that followed, the Emperor of Acadia issued a formal decree.

Before the Imperial Court and gathered officials, he announced that new evidence had co to light. He declared that Adam's prior accusations had been built upon falsified testimony and manipulated records.

The recent investigation, he said, had uncovered deliberate corruption within the system.

Soon after, the Imperial Court released written confessions from several "witnesses". They admitted to being coerced. They spoke of threats, bribes, and pressure from hidden forces that had twisted the truth of what had happened at the Battle of Ravenfell.

The ssage did not remain within palace walls.

Official bulletins were posted in every public square across the Empire. Town criers read the decree aloud in marketplaces. In cities and villages alike, the sa statent was repeated word for word:

Adam Constantine had been frad.

Traveling bards and storytellers began retelling the true version of the Battle of Ravenfell. In their songs and accounts, Adam was no longer a reckless figure blad for disaster.

He was portrayed as a soldier who fought to contain a greater threat, a man whose actions had been misunderstood and deliberately distorted.

Of course, the existence of the Forgotten Rune wasn't brought to light, as not even the Mana Core Magi knew about it.

Lucian Acadia went further.

Adam was publicly repositioned as a victim of the Cult - specifically, a loyal servant of the Empire who had been wronged by hidden traitors working from within.

The narrative described him as a silent protector who endured slander and suspicion for the sake of maintaining the Empire's stability. And that was indeed the truth.

Finally, the bla was unified and directed outward.

The Empire nad the true enemy... the Cult of Bones.

It was their manipulation, their infiltration, their sches that led to the false accusations. Public anger, which had once been divided, now found a single target.

And slowly, across towns and cities, the story began to change.

Most people would not cling to outrage forever.

With the Emperor's public endorsent, the steady repetition of the sa ssage in every city, public opinion began to settle. The anger dulled, and the certainty softened.

For many, it beca easier to accept the revised account than to continue resisting it.

So would always doubt. Rumors did not disappear completely, and suspicion lingered in corners. But if enough citizens believed, or at least accepted the new narrative, then in practice, Adam's na would be restored.

But Ravenfell was different...

The people there more specifically, the survivors of the Battle of Ravenfell - had been direct victims of the Forgotten Rune. Their mories had been altered. Their suffering was personal. For them, the story was a lived experience.

No decree could erase that. No bulletin could undo what they thought they rembered.

For Ravenfell, words would never be enough. It would take more than confessions and imperial announcents to change their view.

It would take action.

And that was why Adam was going to Ravenfell.

***

Around the sa ti news spread that Adam had returned to Ulier and beco a Mana Core Magus, the Cult of Bones was thrown into turmoil.

Within the upper echelons of the Cult, Adam was no longer just a minor concern, he was a priority.

The Cult Leader had made his stance clear: Adam had to be brought in by any ans necessary!

That had been the reason behind the use of the Forgotten Rune in Ravenfell. It had not been random destruction, and it had not been collateral damage.

Adam had been the true target.

The Forgotten Rune was ant to twist his mories, reshape his identity, and make him believe that he had always been part of the Cult. Once his mind

accepted that lie, his body would follow naturally.

But sothing had gone wrong...

Despite being the focal point of the artifact, Adam had sohow broken free from the Forgotten Rune's influence. Not only had he resisted it, but he had

advanced.

He had beco a Mana Core Magus and returned openly to Ulier.

When the Cult learned of this, unrest spread through its ranks. Now that his location was confird, they moved quickly. Orders were issued from the top, and their finest Magi were dispatched.

They had one objective only...

Abduct Adam Constantine and bring him to the Cult Leader.

Then ca an unexpected developnt. Sohow, the Cult received word that

Adam would soon be traveling to Ravenfell.

The opportunity was too perfect to ignore.

An Elder of the Inner Circle was assigned to lead this covert operation. Several

Mana Core Magi accompanied him as well.

This was no simple capture attempt.

No.

It was a decisive strike.

This ti, the Cult would not rely on runes or subtle manipulation.

They would take Adam by force!

***

A long dirt road stretched forward, cutting through open land toward a grand tropolis in the distance.

Travelers moved steadily along the road. rchants rode in caravans guarded by hired swords. Farrs pulled wooden carts loaded with grains and goods. So walked alone with packs slung over their shoulders.

To the right, the Galestine Ocean extended as far as the eye could see. Its

waters rolled in slow waves beneath the open blue sky. The salt air drifted inland, carried by a steady breeze.

To the left, a vast plain spread outward toward the eastern reaches of the Empire. Tall grasses swayed in long waves, unbroken by trees or hills.

Two horses strode side by side along the road.

On one rode a beautiful woman with crimson hair that fell down her back, catching the light as her mount moved. She sat upright and steady, her posture

calm and alert.

On the other rode a young man with raven-black hair and dashing features. A gray cat perched comfortably on his shoulder, balanced with ease despite the movent of the horse's steps.

Together, they rode toward the grand city ahead, blending into the steady flow of travelers making their way forward.

Anna turned to her little brother and asked with an inquisitive gaze, "Just what

are you planning on doing?"

Adam turned to her and smiled. "Trying to win back the hearts of the people."

Anna deeply studied the mischievous intentions in Adam's dark eyes. She

couldn't help but scoff.

"And does that involve casting spells and drawing blood?"

Adam laughed. "Well, a little bit."

By late afternoon, the pair had reached the southern gates of Ravenfell.

The high stone walls cast long shadows across the road as ard guards stood

watch above. At last, the two arrived before the arched gate, where they were

stopped by several Magi.

"State your na and the purpose of your visit," one of the guards said sternly. "Provide your identification docunts."

Adam's gaze swept over the guards surrounding him before settling on the one who had spoken.

His lips curled into a faint smile, and he said:

"My na... is Adam Constantine. Count of Ravenfell."
