A tyrannical wave of mana surged from the Dark King's core.

It flowed like a never-ending tide through his pathways as his lips curled into a wide grin. His lips parted, and he let out a boisterous laugh.

Rank 4 Spell: Winds of Calamity!

The air in the hall twisted and roared. A violent surge of wind burst outward, tearing through the chamber with overwhelming force. It howled between pillars, slamd against walls, and swept across the flas already raging.

And the fire answered. It fed on the wind and grew. What had been a blaze turned into an inferno. Flas stretched higher, burned hotter, and spread faster. They were no longer contained, but spread through every inch of the building.

The heat surged to another level. Fire and wind moved as one, turning the entire hall into a storm of destruction.

However, the gray barrier encircling the building held firm. The flas had nowchere to go, and so, they turned inward. Driven by the Winds of Calamity, the fire bent back on itself, folding into the hall, compressing, intensifying.

Heat built rapidly, rising to a level the structure was never ant to endure. Walls began to soften. The pillars warped, then lted. Stone cracked and gave way under the pressure, until... the floor collapsed.

A massive breach tore through the structure, bursting down into the underground prison complex below.

Adam's eyes narrowed, and he quickly took control. The flas had pushed downward, toward the prison. If left unchecked, the prisoners he had worked so hard to free would also end up dead. He couldn't allow that. He wouldn't.

With a sharp shift of his will, he redirected both wind and fire. The raging currents bent, the inferno folding in on itself as he forced it away from the depths below. Instead, the fiery storm curved upward.

Fire and wind magic arced around the upper structure, sealing in a blazing shell. The destruction was contained above ground, the twin spells consuming everything within its reach, but leaving the prison below untouched.

The fire followed, and everything in its path was consud. Every Magus caught within, except the Mana Core Magi and their undead knights, was burned to ashes.

Amid the blazing inferno, Vortigan, who had already lost one of his undead knights, had lost another one while it protected him from the initial onslaught. anwhile, Rigby and Ayunka had also lost one undead knight each.

Standing within the safety of his mana barrier, all he could see beyond was a sea of red. A few monts later, the ground beneath him caved in, and he was forced to cast Flight.

Impossible! He scread inwardly.

He affected the Pillar's barrier... just like that?!

In that mont, he realized that the artifact that he had been so heavily relying

on to restrict the Dark King was utterly useless. It was only then that he understood just what a monster the raven-haired youth was.

"Vortigan!!!"

Right at that mont, Elira's panicked cry echoed through the sea of flas and reached his ears.

"Deactivate it!" She roared.

Vortigan quickly understood what she ant. And as the realization dawned on him, his expression couldn't help but darken.

"Do it now, or we won't stand a chance!!" Elira scread.

Vortian gnashed his teeth in helplessness. He knew that his fellow warden was right in her judgnt. If they remained within this inferno, they would always remain passive in the fight.

However, if he deactivated the barrier, the Dark King would gain more room to move as well.

Stuck between a rock and a hard place, Vortigan chose the only option that gave him and the other cultists even the slightest chance to face the Dark King head-on.

A second later, the gray barrier around the building dissolved.

For a single, brief second, everything went still.

And then...

BOOOM!!!

The administrative center erupted.

A thunderous explosion tore through the structure, sending stone and debris blasting in all directions. A towering column of fire and smoke rose upward, forming a massive cloud that surged until it struck the outer barrier above the city.

And then, the shockwave followed. Buildings nearby crumbled instantly, reduced to re rubble under the force. The streets cracked, and the walls collapsed.

Magi stationed around the periter, those who had been staring in shock just monts ago, were consud by the flas in an instant. It was a quick death - a rcy that the Dark King inadvertently offered them. Burned to ash where

they stood.

From the heart of the figure, fourteen shadowy figures burst through the flas and black smoke.

Six Mana Core Magi. Eight undead knights.

They erged with frightened and wary looks, forcing their way out of the inferno. Their robes were scorched, edges burned away. Parts of their flesh were charred, skin darkened from the heat. Their faces were pale, breaths heavy, drained from pouring a large amount of mana into their defenses just to

survive.

But they were still standing.

Beside them, their undead knights moved into position as well. Burned, broken, yet still moving. Their bodies began to nd even as they advanced. Their charred flesh knit back together, damaged limbs restoring themselves piece by piece, slow but certain.

Edsel stared at the flas slowly dying down in the distance.

The fortress that was the administrative building no longer stood proudly. The ground had split open, leaving a wide breach that led straight to the

underground prison.

Even from where he stood, he could hear them. The countless prisoners roaring. Their voices echoed through the ruins, repeating the sa word again

and again and again...

Freedom.

"H-How... just how?" Morofin's trembling voice echoed in the air. "How are we

to defeat such a monster?"

Edsel hated to admit it, but he couldn't help but share the sa sentint. However, he knew how crucial morale was, especially now that they were

losing.

Losing despite the advantage in numbers...

He turned sharply toward his comrade, ready to reprimand him.

But then...

His heart sank.

Standing beside the oblivious Morofin was a raven-haired youth, dressed in

dark robes and a pointed hat.

The Dark King smiled coldly and replied to Morofin's question.

"You can't."

Morofin shuddered, his eyes widening.

In the following split-second, several things happened.

He turned sideways, his horrified gaze locking onto the speaker.

The Dark King laughed and swiped his hand.

Splat!

Morofin's head burst open.

His body dropped where he stood.

Beside him, his two undead knights collapsed as well, their animating force

gone in an instant.

One stone. Three birds.
