"Good riddance!"

Dorset spat venomously as he gazed at Bunosilo's severed body falling from the sky.

He then turned to the newcor with furrowed brows and couldn't help but ask, "Why are you here?"

The newcor was none other than Holden, who had been responsible for summoning the undead army on the ground.

Holden didn't answer him imdiately. He flew to his undead knight and first removed the ivory spears embedded deep into its torso. After that, he turned to Holden and said with a light smirk, "Change of plans."

"What the hell does that an?" Dorset flew toward him, panting slightly.

Holden then explained the sudden ergence of Osbert, a fellow cultist who had been biding his ti in the Beryl Woods, patiently waiting to bring House Fireborne to ruin.

He had left the one-ard cultist in charge of leading the ground assault on Amberfall, and also left one of his undead knights to protect the man just in

case.

"...And he's also managed to enslave about ten thousand orcs," Holden concluded.

"Osbert... Osbert..." Dorset repeated the familiar na. "I think I've heard of him. He vanished soti after the King of Ignisra advanced to the Mana Core Rank."

"Yes, the story checks out." Holden nodded. "I've also verified his identity token."

"Good, good. This is an unexpected windfall." Dorset nodded with a grin.

"What's the situation here?" Holden scanned the sky and asked in a grim voice.

"Blackfire and the red bitch," Dorset began. "Their flas are very troubleso for our undead."

He turned to Holden's knight and added, "It would be unwise to send it to either of them."

"Understood." Holden nodded. "I'll go assist Diggory then, and you go deal with the woman."

"Fine by ." Dorset deliberated for a mont and agreed.

Although he'd be fighting two opponents - Anna and Virion- he'd also be aided by three undead knights. It would be four against two, and he very much liked his chances.

As for Holden, he'd be fighting alongside Diggory and one undead knight, making it a three against one battle.

Just as Dorset was about to leave, Holden stopped him. He then asked in a grim voice, "What was that explosion earlier? I felt it all the way in the woods."

He lowered his head, his gaze seemingly piercing through the clouds and landing on the harbor. "Is the prince..."

He let his words hang in the air.

Dorset snorted in contempt. "He's dead, and his armada destroyed. Can you fucking believe it? He couldn't even win a battle with so many Magi fighting by his side. How pathetic!"

"But he's... was the Elder's son," Holden said, unease gnawing at his heart.

Dorset hesitated briefly before saying in a low voice, "There was nothing we could do. We were sent here to conquer the city, not to babysit the Elder's son. This is war."

With that said, he flew away. anwhile, Holden remained hovering in the air for a few monts, his expression complicated. This battle had turned out to be more difficult than he'd imagined. He inhaled deeply, then flew toward his next battlefield.

Blackfire Balthazar swiped his hands in a horizontal arc.

A mont later, a wave of terrifying black flas burst forth. They grew bigger and ferocious as they inched closer to their targets. By the ti they'd arrived before Diggory and the undead knight, the wave had grown over a dozen

ters high.

Diggory gritted his teeth and thrust his hands forward. He had already finished the spell components and even activated his defensive artifact.

Behind him, hovered his undead knight. The twin barriers protected both of them from Blackfire's attacks. He wasn't going to risk his knight getting attacked by the black flas again. The monster took a lot more ti to regenerate from the injuries dealt by the strange fire.

His undead knight had beco a liability in this battle, and Diggory hated it. Just as the giant tide of black flas had receded, his vision cleared, and he saw dozens of flaming black spheres hover in the air around him. With a simple command from Blackfire, they ca hurling toward him.

"Damn it!" he cursed in indignation. He infused even more mana into his spell and artifact.

On the other side, Balthazar had a grave look on his face. This is taking too long, he thought to himself helplessly.

Suddenly, his eyes narrowed, and he swiped his arms to the side, guiding several of the flaming black spheres in another direction. At the sa ti, he retreated into the distance.

"You're good," ca an unfamiliar voice from where Balthazar's earlier volley of flaming spheres had been launched.

When the dust settled, he saw another Mana Core Magus in the distance. He was clearly a cultist since the aura of rot and death radiating from him was

unmistakable. Balthazar's expression turned dark, and Diggory's following

words only confird his suspicions.

"Holden, what the hell are you doing here?!" Diggory and his undead knight regrouped with the newcor.

"I've co here to assist you, what else?" Holden scoffed.

"What about the-" Diggory began, but was soon interrupted by Holden.

"That is already taken care of," he said. "For now, let's deal with this man." No more words were wasted. Holden flew toward Blackfire. Diggory was perplexed for only a mont before he and his undead knight followed suit. Seeing three enemies - one of them an undead monster - fly toward him, Balthazar's face twisted into a scowl, and he prepared for the worst.

anwhile, at another spot in the twilight sky, Anna and Virion levitated side by side as they gazed at the newcor with stunned expressions.

"You... what happened to Bunosilo?!" Virion roared in fury.

Dorset's lips curled into a crooked smirk. "What do you think?"

With that said, Dorset led the three undead knights and engaged in a brutal

arcane lee. With the death of one man, the tides had shifted vastly.

And back on the ground, a new terror had erged.

***

A trumpet sounded from the northern walls, its call rolling across the stone and into the streets below. The sound carried far and wide, echoing through every

inch of the city.

This was the ominous sound of warning.

A warning that enemies had been spotted in the north.

Prince Marlow reached the northern wall just in ti to see it. A dark mass was

moving toward the city, spreading across the land like a tide. Even from a distance, the aura of death and bloodlust was unmistakable.

Thousands of undead monsters rushed toward the city wall, their lifeless eyes

filled with hunger and malice. Behind them ca a second wave. A sea of fierce green erged. An orc army ten thousand strong, advancing in tight formation. The Cult had finally begun its ground assault!
