Tian Di's arrival caused the frontlines to erupt in chaos.

But it was the type of chaos that was silent and bone-crushing. Because the mont the Honored One made himself known, all those who lay their eyes upon him found themselves frozen in terror.

The man did nothing. He simply stood there. Yet the sheer aura radiating from him caused the onlookers to struggle to breathe. Just the man's presence alone was enough to make them cower.

As for the commanders, who now found themselves standing directly before the Hidden Ruler, all of them felt a cold chill crawl down their spines. They'd never faced a man with such a presence before.

And the sheer ease with which he had blocked the Hermit's attack was enough to know that he was the real deal.

The Hermit's staff was undoubtedly a Grade-4 Artifact. But Tian Di's pipe was just another regular, wooden smoking pipe. It was his superb control over mana and the finesse with which he had coated the pipe in it that allowed him to block the attack so easily.

"You're not weak," he said in an amused voice.

Beads of sweat rolled down the Hermit's face as he quickly drew back his staff and retreated a few steps.

"Everyone get behind !" he roared. "He's not soone you can hope to fight!"

They all did as told. Even the proud Goro Tsuitsui didn't need to be told about the sheer threat that the Hidden Ruler posed. Every cell in his body scread at him that if he made one wrong move, then he would die.

"Perceptive," said the Honored One as he brought the pipe to his lips and languidly took another drag.

His dark eyes scanned the group of Union commanders, his gaze landing on Bai Tianji, Hong, and Goro Tsuitsui. He didn't even bother glancing at the rest of the Magi.

"Sword. Beggar. Venom," he continued. Finally, his gaze returned to the Shadow Sect's leader. "Hermit."

The mont the four Magi heard their nas being called by the Hidden Ruler, they felt an invisible weight crushing them. It was all so strange. Except for the Hermit, these people did not even know about the existence of this man for the longest ti. Yet, he seed to know every one of them.

"You left my land without my permission," Tian Di said calmly as he slowly raised his hand.

"I allowed you freedom because I believed you understood restraint. Yet here you are, like little children playing at conquest."

He paused briefly, his eyes narrowing. "An example must be made."

The Hermit, the Blossom Blade, the Beggar of Clouds, and the Venom Dragon, all four of them felt intense alarm bells thunder inside their minds. When they saw the Hidden Ruler's hand descending like judgnt itself, instincts scread at them to move.

Or else…

They would truly die!

But right at that mont, sothing strange happened.

"Please stay your hand, my lord."

A familiar voice echoed in Tian Di's ears. He halted his hand and slowly turned. Behind him, he saw a figure respectfully kneeling on the ground, with two destriers standing behind the man.

For a brief mont, he couldn't identify the newcor. The aura around the man was unfamiliar. But the voice wasn't. Soon, his eyes lit up.

"Marden!" the Hidden Ruler revealed an unexpected smile. "Is that you?"

The Blood Lord slowly raised his head and looked toward Tian Di. He answered humbly, "I'm honored that you still rember , my lord."

"I-It's him!" Valerian's trembling voice echoed in the front line.

"Marden Benton!" Edward gnashed through gritted teeth, rage gleaming in his eyes.

Behind him, all the Magi of the Dark King's elite force also recognized him. How could they not?

Marden Benton had orchestrated the Battle of Ravenfell. Not only had he slaughtered his own family, but he had also been the one to slay Marcus Blackwood!

How could they not rember the scourge of Ravenfell?

Marden glanced at Edward, who stared back at him with murder in his eyes. Then he shifted his gaze to Valerian, who looked terrified. And then, he briefly looked at Anna, who gazed back at him coldly.

At last, he turned toward the Hidden Ruler and said respectfully, "The Cult Leader requests you not to kill them."

"Oh?" Tian Di turned toward the approaching party of devils and humans. His dark eyes flashed with utter contempt, and he said, "And who does he think he is to make requests of ?"

"The devil accompanying my master wishes to speak with these people first," Marden patiently explained, his head still bowed in respect.

"He only requests your patience, my lord."

Tian Di remained silent, his gaze locking onto the azirai leader mounted atop the infernal destrier. His brows creased slightly, and he couldn't help but comnt, "What an ugly thing."

Marden's lips twitched. He only hoped that the azirai did not hear Tian Di's words. He quickly changed the subject, "Shall we return?"

Tian Di glanced at the kneeling Marden, his eyes gleaming with a peculiar light. Then, he turned toward the Union commanders, who remained frozen in terror.

"Rejoice," he said arrogantly. "You have earned yourselves a few more minutes to live."

With that said, he smoothly mounted a horse. Marden cast one final glance at the Union commanders. He warned, "If you wish to live, then agree to the devil's proposal. Otherwise…

His gaze turned cold.

"Be condemned to Hell."

He then mounted the other horse and followed behind the Hidden Ruler, leaving the Union commanders with conflicting emotions.

If their interaction with Tian Di was any indication, it was that they had been completely outclassed by a single man. Any montum they might have built had been crushed before it could even form.

So what was even the point of moving forward to et the enemy commanders when they had already lost before the battle had even begun?

anwhile, as the Hidden Ruler and Blood Lord rode to the center of the battlefield, the forr turned his gaze toward the latter and said with a faint smirk, "You've changed."

Marden's brown eyes glead with hints of ominous crimson. "I suppose…"

Tian Di snorted in ridicule. He was about to respond when suddenly, his eyes narrowed, and he abruptly turned around, his gaze sweeping across the pitiful Union army and reaching far southward.

"What is it?" Marden asked solemnly.

The Hidden Ruler fell silent for a few monts. Then his lips curled up into a faint, expectant smirk.

"Now this… should be interesting."
