Adam, Kael, and even Liriel found themselves at a loss for words. They had done their due diligence on Silver Vess and knew that the woman had eccentric tastes and preferred won to n.
However, even they didn't expect her to get down to business right from the get-go. The way Silver Vess was staring at Liriel, it would appear that the latter had already beco her property.
She stepped forward, her eyes never leaving the dumbfounded Liriel, but suddenly, Adam stood between them. He gazed at Silver Vess with an amused smirk, "The transaction isn't even complete and you already want to lay your hands on my… product?"
He stepped forward, looking deeply into Silver Vess' blue eyes. "I must say, you are quite rude."
When Silver Vess gazed into Adam's dark eyes, she found herself montarily in a daze. But soon, her eyes narrowed and she coldly stated, "Magus, do you know where you are?"
The mont those words left her mouth, a dozen Magi dressed in black suddenly appeared like shadows, standing at the edge of the room.
Adam chuckled with a raised eyebrow as he looked around, "Not bad. You've trained them well." His eyes then darted towards two areas in the ceiling before landing on Silver Vess.
When the silver-haired woman saw Adam looking at those two spots on the ceiling, her eyes narrowed. After all, the areas that he looked at were exactly the places where two more Rank 1 Magi were hidden.
In that mont, Silver Vess knew that Adam was not so easy to deal with as she had previously thought. Realizing this, her entire deanor changed.
She chuckled seductively, "Oh, how rude of . You both have co from so far yet I didn't even offer you a seat."
Silver Vess bowed, revealing ample bosom through the wide neckline of her silk robe. "Forgive , dear custors. But when I saw the elven slave you brought, I just couldn't help myself."
When Adam gazed at the silver-haired woman bowing before her, he couldn't help but involuntarily gulp. But he quickly steadied himself, "No need to apologize."
His gaze was subconsciously drawn to her cleavage as he added, "I can, uh, understand what you were going through. So, no need for the deep... deep apology."
Silver Vess laughed in an extrely seductive manner as she gently grabbed Adam's arm, pressing her body against it, and leading him towards the seating area.
"Co, dear custor," she said. "Please sit. Let us talk business, shall we?"
With that said, she snapped her fingers and several female slaves entered the room through another door, bringing with them food and wine.
It had to be said that all the slaves that had entered just now were beautiful beyond belief. So were abducted from villages and hamlets, others belonged to noble households that had fallen from grace.
It would also appear that all these slaves seed to have been treated quite well. Their skin was smooth and fair, their hair silky, and their cheeks radiated a rosy blush.
Adam couldn't help but think that these slaves were slaves in na only, and that they were being treated even better than all the Magi guards employed at the establishnt.
"As you can see," Silver Vess began. "I have not a single elf working for . So you can imagine my excitent when my n told that you'd brought an elven slave for ."
"Ah, yes, of course." Adam nodded, shifting his attention to Silver Vess. He added with an impressed look on his face, "I can't help but admire your fine selection of won here, Lady Vess."
"Oh?" The silver-haired woman's lips curled up into a seductive smile. "Would you perhaps like to spend a night with any of them? I'd be more than happy to help you choose one."
Adam's lips curled up into a smirk. "Who knows?"
"Ahem!" Kael awkwardly cleared his throat. "Shall we get down to business?"
That question was directed towards Adam as much as it was directed towards Silver Vess.
"Tsk, you're no fun at all," Adam gazed at Kael and grumbled.
The next mont, before Silver Vess could even ask their nas, Liriel's chains were suddenly undone. She caressed her wrists and neck, complaining, "Well, that was humiliating."
Silver Vess frowned. "What is the aning of this?"
A foreboding feeling welled up in her heart for so reason, and she instantly put her guard up. "n! Surround them!" She ordered.
However, none ca forward. This caused the silver-haired slaver's heart to sink. When she turned to look at all the Magi guards inside her office, she found that their eyes had glazed over as they remained standing in a daze.
Even her female slaves shared the sa fate—all of their eyes glazed over as if they were inside an…
"Illusion!!" Silver Vess muttered in astonishnt. She couldn't believe that all the n and won inside her office were put under an illusion in such a short span of ti.
"What is the aning of this?" She glared at the newcors, however, inwardly she was shocked. She didn't even know when or how the illusion was cast.
"Who else is here with you?" That was the only rational conclusion she could co to. That soone else, concealed from her senses, had cast the illusion while Adam and Kael drew her attention.
Adam waved his hand casually, "My Lady, it is just us three. No one else is here, I promise you."
Just you three?! Silver Vess thought in alarm. Then who cast the illusion?! I didn't even see any of them prepare for the spell!
Silver Vess now knew that the tables had turnt. She was now up against three Rank 2 Magi. Thus, she quickly tried to diffuse the situation and ensured that she survived anyway.
"What is it that you two gentlen and…" Her words montarily slowed down as her gaze was drawn to Liriel and she continued, "lady want from ?"
She'd be a fool to not realize that Liriel had been pretending to be a slave all this while.
"Whatever it is that you want," Silver Vess added. "Money, spellbooks, magical artifacts, anything! I can offer you anything you want. You only need to say the word."
Adam smiled as a black dagger shaped like a raven's feather appeared in his hand. "Anything I want?"
Silver Vess nodded without hesitation. "Anything you want! Know that I have enough power in this city to et your demands!"
"Very well." Adam nodded, his smile deepening. "Then I'd like to have your face."
