In the span of only a few hours, several places in the Darkfang Docks and the Floating Marketplace were now burning—both literally and taphorically—in the fires of war.

Almost all the Rank 2 Magi currently sitting on the loose council now found themselves embroiled in a deadly scuffle with Magi who were opposing them for the seat.

These fights were birthed from re rumors. When it started, no one would have thought that such harmless rumors would result in such fierce battles.

Yet, now it was evident for all to see.

Add to that, the enchantnt spells that Liriel would cast from ti to ti, would tip the outco in her favor—just like what she did with Dean Black and Alfred nny.

Standing at a high vantage point, looking at the large-scale skirmishes going on below them, Liriel asked, "What do you think, Kael? This should be enough, yes?"

Kael scanned the docks and the marketplace with his piercing, cold eyes. He then muttered, "The people from the Umbra Thieves aren't here."

If there was anyone he wanted to be punished, it would have to be the Magi from the thieves' guild. Witnessing the atrocities they had committed in the past few weeks, he was full of anger and hatred for them.

The pair turned their gazes in the direction of the city center, at the towering black structure overlooking everything.

The Dark Spire.

"Those thieves are holed up in there," he said. "Even if the city burns to the ground, they will not show up."

Liriel couldn't help but speak in a grave voice, "It was as Adam said. This really is a trap for the ard forces of Ravenfell."

She turned to Kael. "What should we do now?"

Kael thought for a very long ti. He turned his attention towards the rocky cliff overlooking the dockside. Then, he turned his head again, gazing in the direction of the Cage.

In the end, he helplessly sighed, "We have done what we can. The two of us can only do so much."

Liriel nodded, gazing at the Darkfang Docks and the Floating Marketplace burning in the flas of war, she added, "This should help reduce Blackshore's numbers."

Kael nodded. "For now, let us trust in our comrades."

He then looked at Lirel and added, "There's one more thing we can do."

"The slums?" Liriel asked with an arched brow.

Kael nodded with a faint smile. "Most of the Blackshore's mortals are inhabiting the slums. We can help them evacuate before the entire city turns into a battleground."

Liriel nodded with determination. "Understood. Let's go!"

The two figures gradually disappeared into the darkness, leaving behind the flas of war to illuminate the city in a bloody glow.

Ember Heights.

In the lavish mansion where the mbers of the Cult currently resided, Malcolm and the rest stood on the balcony, gazing at the distant dockside and marketplace burning in flas and hearing the sounds of fighting coming from there.

Malcolm's lips curled up into a smile, "He's finally shown himself."

"Adam, you an?" Asked another cultist.

"Who else?" Malcolm chuckled.

"Shall we make our move now?"

Malcolm remained silent for a few monts. "He's a cunning fellow. If he sees us, he will flee. And he might just succeed."

"But…" One of the cultists couldn't help but protest in frustration, "He's just a Mana Liquefaction Magus! Why are you so guarded against him?"

Malcolm turned to look at the man and asked a question, "Do you know what the Cult Leader told before I left?"

"…What?"

"Adam Constantine's understanding of teleportation is truly deep. Even if he cannot fight us head-on, he has the ability to escape from us at any given mont," said Malcolm.

His eyes narrowed and he coldly added, "So this is the last ti I'm going to tell all of you - do not fucking underestimate Constantine!"

Suddenly, his eyes narrowed as he sensed sothing—or rather, soone.

He turned his head in the direction of the Dark Spire and saw three figures dressed in black robes, radiating powerful mana signatures, approaching them at fast speed.

"Heh," Malcolm sneered. "So they're finally here."

In but a few monts, the three leaders of the Umbra Thieves had arrived before the Magi from the Cult.

Barnabas Booth, the old man with an eye patch over his right eye, roared, "Is this the work of that brat?! How dare he!"

Malcolm looked at him with a calm smile, "Lord Booth, I believe it is indeed Adam Constantine's doing."

"How long has he been planning this?" Wendell Cross mutterd in exhasperation. "All the Rank 2 Magi on the loose councils have now beco occupied in their own battles!"

Kissinger, who had been silent all this while, suddenly spoke up in a somber tone, "That is not what we should be focusing on right now."

He turned to look at his fellow leaders of the guild, and continued, "This is but a diversion! It is an opportunity created for Ravenfell's ard forces to make a move! That is what we should be focused on! I believe they are not far!"

"My Lord," Malcolm called out. "I must inform you that I haven't received any words from my scouts out at sea in the past couple of hours… Have you?"

Kissinger shook his head, his expresion extrely solemn. He looked at Wendell and Barnabass and spoke in urgency, "We must deploy the city's fleet and et them at sea!"

"What if they attack from land?" Wendell voiced his opinion. "It could be a pincer attack, for all we know."

"The scouts in the western regions have sent reports recently stating that everything is clear on thier end," said Kissinger. "We must divert our attention towards the naval battle!"

He then turned to Malcolm and urged, "Lord Morgan, I hope we can depend on your assistance so that we can swiftly deal with the Magi of Ravenfell. Even though we have more Rank 3 Magi on our side, the longer the battle drags on, the more variables may arise."

"Of course, my lord." Malcolm smiled politely. His smile soon turned cold and he added, "Not to forget, we also have an army."

Kissinger nodded with a solemn expression. He then turned to the Rank 2 Magi from the guild standing outside the manor, awaiting his orders.

"Ring the bell! Have all the ships set sail—"

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

He never got the chance to even finish relaying his orders. Much to his shock and anger, he saw that the grand, tall-masted ships anchored in the Darkfang Docks were being engulfed in fiery explosions.

One by one, the ships were blown to smithereens, shattered by the dozens of Potions of Explotions raining down upon them.

And the cause of this chaos?

But of course…

The Great Valerian!
