Valerian ran through the maze-like paths of the underground level of The Cage.

The five Magi were still hot in pursuit. He could hear their footsteps getting closer and closer.

No! No! No! The young dragon started to panic.

He was no match for five Rank 2 Magi. The mont they caught him, he would be truly done for. He had to reach the storage unit where Adam was before it was too late.

Although he didn't rember the exact route that led to the storage unit, thanks to the connection he shared with Adam, he was easily able to figure out the directions.

Within the next minute, he had finally arrived in front of the tal door.

"Brother! Brother! It's ! Open the door!" He started screaming out loud, pacing in front of the ntal door in sheer panic.

Behind him, the sound of footsteps got closer and closer. Valerian's heart started to pound wildly. He had never felt such fear and nervousness before.

He got on his hind legs and started scratching the tal door with his claws.

"Brother! Brother! Please! Open the door! Hurry!"

Yet, there was no response.

"There's the beast!"

"Quick, catch him!"

The five Magi from the Umbra Thieves had finally arrived, standing only a few ters away from the young dragon.

Their faces displayed malevolent expressions as they gazed at the helpless little cat.

Tears started to stream down Valerian's furry face and he began to desperately claw at the tal door.

Because of the runes inscribed on it, forget Valerian, even a Rank 3 Magus would have to put in so effort to pry it open.

"Brother!!! Help !!!" He scread in utmost desperation.

Just when the five Magi were about to catch hold of him, Valerian's teary eyes suddenly widened. They displayed shock before finally being replaced by happiness and relief.

The next mont, the young dragon turned into a gray flash of light before disappearing behind the tal door.

Before he disappeared, however, he left behind his parting words, his voice cold and oozing with anger and hatred.

"All of you are dead!"

The five Magi from the thieves' guild were dumbfounded by the sudden turn of events. Just a mont ago the gray cat was right before their eyes, just waiting to be killed by them.

But now, all of a sudden, it had disappeared. And its thod of disappearance was also quite bizarre. They had never seen soone teleport away or disappear from sight by transforming into a flash of light.

"What?!"

"Impossible!"

"Where did he go?"

The five of them stood before the tal gate with stunned expressions. Finally, they noticed sothing strange.

The runes inscribed on the door lit up one by one. They glowed with a brilliant light before gradually dimming out of existence.

Then… the door slowly opened!

The five Magi involuntarily retreated a few steps back, their expressions vigilant to the extres. All of them drew their weapons, pointing them forward.

"Co out, ya bastard!"

"We know you're responsible for causing mayhem above ground!"

"You think the three overlords are going to let you go?!"

"Quickly surrender yourself!"

No response was heard from beyond the tal door. It was pitch black inside. The Magi couldn't see a thing.

They looked at each other in confusion, as well as nervousness. Right when they were about to speak once again, a gentle voice sounded from the depths of the storage unit.

"Little Val, you did well. Now leave the rest to your big brother."

Then, from the depths of the darkness, a hand erged. Then, it swiped horizontally.

Before they knew it, the heads of the five Rank 2 - Mana Liquefaction Magus were cleanly severed from their necks.

It was a quick death—a punishnt far too light for making Valerian cry.

But death, nonetheless.

The hand didn't stop there. It then made a grasping motion. Following that, a wraith hidden in the shadows was forcefully pulled into the hand's grasp.

Wraiths were intangible creatures with ghost-like physiologies. It was difficult to catch a hold of them.

However, the hand was coated with a layer of pure spiritual energy, making the action of grabbing the wraith very effortless.

The hand squeezed the wraith's neck, causing it to shudder in absolute fear.

"I see," ca the voice from beyond the tal door. "A Rank 2 undead summoned by a necromancer, eh?"

The following mont, the hand clenched into a fist, ruthlessly destroying the very essence of the wraith, killing it instantly.

After that, the hand retreated back into the darkness. The sound of deep, rhythmic breathing could be heard from inside.

Every inhale caused the ground to tremble, and every exhale caused violent winds to blow outwards.

The Five Elental Codex.

The Astral Tyrant Manual.

These two seamlessly worked together to bring about unprecedented changes in Adam's body.

Pure mana coursed through his channels, brimming with magic and vitality. The mana had already transford from a gaseous state to a liquid state.

It flowed in an orderly pattern, forming an energy whirlpool at his core. The mana constantly revolved, gathering to form a single point.

It was like a miniature version of a spiraling galaxy, constantly swirling inwards!

Two brilliant orbs of light glowed in the dark. Adam's eyes shone like the brightest of stars in the universe as he expanded his Sphere of Resonance to its maximum output.

In a few monts, he knew exactly what was transpiring above ground.

"So it has begun," he said in a calm voice.

Then, from the darkness, a figure erged—taller, stronger, and more confident than before.

The figure wore dark trousers, fitted properly for fluid movents, and sturdy leather boots. A flowing black Magus robe draped over him, completing his imposing presence.

And finally, his trademark—the black pointy hat.

Adam took a few steps forward, his eyes appeared darker than before as if they contained infinite mysteries but also unimaginable terrors.

The aura he was radiating involuntarily caused the air around him to twist and the ground beneath him to crack.

He was still not used to it, after all. He still had to consolidate his newfound strength.

Adam conjured a tiny black stick from his obsidian-hooped earrings. This item easily fit inside the palm of his hands.

Then, his lips parted and he calmly muttered in snaketongue, "Expand."

In the blink of an eye, the tiny stick transford into a staff more than two ters long!

It was a staff exuding a tyrranical aura, its black body seemingly absorbing the very light around it, and resonating deeply with Adam's mana and spiritual energy.

Dark gold caps forged from twilight occupied both ends of the staff. Coiled around these dark gold ends were intricate carvings of serpents, their forms appearing almost alive.

The Staff of Calamity!

With a faint smile on his face, Adam gazed at the staff gifted to him by Lord White. He was greatly looking forward to using it.

He spun the staff in his hand and took a step forward, ready to join the battle.

The youngest Rank 3 - Mana Vortex Magus in the history of Tron had made his move!!
