Chapter 873: Famous (GT Bonus Chapter)

Jeeling Outpost.

There were two ways to reach Ravenfell: by land from the west or by sea from the east.

There were security outposts stationed along both routes, on land and on sea. This was where all the people heading to ravenfell were thoroughly inspected and interrogated.

Jeeling was the western security outpost situated on land. This small town, less than a hundred miles from Ravenfell, had suddenly co to life with the arrival of the Dark King.

Just tens of ters above ground, Valerian, who was in his winged-panther form, suddenly shapeshifted. With astonishing speed, he transford into a chubby gray cat and smoothly settled on Adam’s shoulder.

With a calm expression on his face, Adam landed just outside the main gates of the Jeeling Outpost, eliciting a wave of exclamations from the Magi around.

They had all seen Adam and Valerian descend from the clouds. Before they even knew it, the majestic winged panther had suddenly transford into a cute cat, and the one rider had suddenly landed in their midst.

Needless to say, they were all wildly taken aback.

“Ah, land at last,” Adam muttered softly, cracking his neck as he stepped forward.

Completely ignoring the dumbfounded gazes of the people around him, he walked towards the main gates.

Valerian casually took out a beast core, one of the many Adam had collected in the Murky Mountains, and started chomping on it.

“Brother, shouldn’t we wait for that person?”

He was talking about the Magus on the giant raven, who was supposed to be escorting Adam and Valerian. Alas, he was too slow and was still sowhere in the clouds.

“Don’t worry about it,” said the raven-haired youth. He conjured a wine gourd from his earrings, unsealed it, and then started taking large mouthfuls of the delicious wine.

“Soone or the other will recognize ,” he added.

As if to contradict him, one of the guards, a Mana Liquefaction Magus, standing by the main gates of Jeeling, stepped forward and blocked his way.

“Halt!” said the Magus, a dark expression on his face. “Who do you think you are, cutting the line?!”

Adam ignored him, continuing to walk forward.

The guard, now visibly angry, brandished his spear, pointing the sharp edge of the blade at Adam. “I said halt! Take another step forward and I’ll be forced to—”

The words, however, were caught in his throat.

Adam had already arrived before him and nonchalantly grabbed the tipped blade of the spear. Applying a little strength in his hand, he effortlessly shattered the blade.

He didn’t even cast a glance at the guard as he entered through the main gates. But he did leave behind his parting words, causing the guard’s heart to sink to the deepest pits of hell.

“Fool, who do you think you’re pointing that weapon at?”

As if answering his question, few of the guards who were standing at the gates recognized him and imditely got down on one knee.

They struck their fists against their breastplates and roared, “We greet the Dark King!”

The words echoed like thunder. Gasps and shouts rang out from the crowd. Hearing the na of the Dark King, everyone completely lost it.

At once, there was a loud clamor among the tourists, who rushed forward, trying to get a better glimpse of Adam.

This forced the remaining guards to step forward and restore order.

Even Adam was slightly taken aback by the crowd’s reaction. He didn’t think they would react in such a way.

He couldn’t help but wonder…

Am I that famous?

A smirk found its way to the corner of his lips as he moved into the heart of the town. Every Magus of Ravenfell who saw him imdiately got down on one knee and greeted him.

Their eyes glead with respect, admiration, and sothing deeper… devotion. It was even more so than the people of Towar.

These people were from Ravenfell, after all. They shared a much deeper bond with him than the Magi of Towar.

I could get used to this, he thought to himself, smiling faintly.

He pointed at a random Magus on the side of the road. “You.”

“Y-yes, my lord!” The young Magus found his body trembling subconsciously.

Was it fear? Or was it Excitent?

He didn’t know…

But what he did know was that the Dark King was talking to him.

Kyaaa! He spoke to !

If Adam were aware of his thoughts, he wouldn’t know whether to laugh or cry.

“Guide to the dining hall,” said he, “it’s been a while since I’ve had a proper al.”

“ too! too!” Valerian chid in, his topaz eyes gleaming with a hungry light.

“Y-yes, my lord! Right away, my lord!” The young Magus did as instructed and led Adam to the officers’ hall—the finest dining place in town, where all the senior officers ate.

By the ti Adam had arrived at the hall, there were dozens of Magi serving as his ‘guide’.

Less than an hour had passed, and two more flying mounts had arrived at Jeeling.

They had co from the direction of Ravenfell. The two magical beasts gracefully landed on the cobbled streets past the town’s main gates.

Seeing the commotion outside—as well as inside—the town still lingering, the riders of these flying beasts could only assu that Adam had just passed through not long ago.

Sabrina Benton alighted from the giant raven. She glanced at one of the Magi nearby and asked, “Where is he?”

“Lord Marshall, the Dark King is currently dining in the officers’ hall,” the Magus replied respectfully.

Sabrina humd in response, then turned her gaze to the second raven. Seeing the aged professor of Saratoga alight, she revealed a faint smile. “Shall we?”

Mathilda Whitaker turned to her and nodded. “Yes, let us go!”

The two Mana Vortex Magi headed straight for the dining hall.

***

Inside, Adam lazily lounged on the chair, bloated from overeating. Food crumbs clung to the stubble on his chin, and he looked half-asleep.

He hadn’t had a proper al ever since he left Constantine. And now that he had, he found himself having slight difficulty breathing.

“Too much…” he muttered weakly, patting his stomach. “I ate too much!”

“ too, brother… Myu…” Valerian lay on the table, surrounded by empty plates. Strangely enough, his furry belly was just as swollen.

Suddenly, the door to the private dining room slamd open. Two elderly won walked inside… and froze.

Their gazes fell on the bloated raven-haired youth and his equally stuffed feline familiar. For a long mont, they said nothing.

“Ah… Professor Whitaker… Lady Benton…” Adam mumbled with a sheepish smile. “It’s been a while, eh?”

Sabrina and Mathilda were so stunned by this scene. For a mont, they thought they had entered the wrong room.

Eventually, Sabrina turned to her friend, Mathilda, and muttered incredulously, “Yes, despite his ridiculous appearance… It’s indeed him.”
