Chapter 882: Hope

“Oh?” Anna looked at her brother with an arched eyebrow. “Were you expecting my arrival? Or do you always carry gifts with you?”

“Heh,” Adam smirked. “I’ll have you know, princess. I am a very wealthy man. I always carry gifts with wherever I go.”

The crimson-haired woman snorted in ridicule. “Claiming to be rich in front of the Princess of the Ignisra Kingdom. You must have really lost your mind.”

Adam’s smirk vanished. “What do you an by that?”

He paused, surprise flashing in his eyes. “Wait, Anna! Are you very rich?! Is your family very, very wealthy?”

Anna shrugged, her lips curled into a smirk. “I wonder…”

“Wait, what does that an?!” Adam pressed.

But his sister completely ignored him. Instead, she conjured a scroll from her storage artifact and presented it to him.

“Take a look,” she said with a gentle smile.

Adam’s gaze was drawn to the rolled, yellow parchnt. His eyes flashed with excitent as he grabbed it and quickly unfurled it.

“A spell?” He muttered in enthusiasm.

Even if it were a rock, he would still be this enthusiastic. It was a gift from his dear sister, after all.

“It’s a Rank 2 Spell,” said the princess. “Well, I thought you’d still be a Mana Foundation Magus now, so giving you this spell would help you in the future. But who could have known…”

As Adam was reading through the model component of the spell inscribed on the parchnt, his eyes gradually lit up.

“A spell that produces a field of white daffodils,” he softly said. “You rembered…”

“Of course.” Anna smiled warmly.

How could she ever forget?

Knowing the value this flower had in Adam’s heart, she had expended a lot of ti and resources to acquire this spell.

Seeing Adam’s face light up with joy, she felt that it was all worth it.

“Very fascinating…” Adam murmured. “I had co up with a similar spell, but it was only an illusion. The spell was for show. I never thought of using it for offensive purposes. But this…”

He paused, his eyes scanning every small detail on the parchnt. “I see… it contains the principles from the School of Invocation. Very interesting! Yes, with this serving as the foundation along with my previous experints, I think I can co up with a Rank 3 Spell.”

Anna was stunned. “Did you… already figure it out?”

One had to know that it took a considerable amount of ti for a Magus to understand the intricacies of a spell.

They had to learn the physical component, understanding how the mana would be channeled from within their bodies and into the spell.

Then, they had to understand the model component. This took the longest ti because one could not afford to make a single mistake.

A slight deviation of an angle or a misplacent of a vector would not only result in failure, but also a severe backlash to the caster.

The material component had the fewest requirents. All one needed to do was find the magical ingredient.

However, if one couldn’t find the ingredient, it could prove to be quite difficult, perhaps almost impossible, to cast the spell.

Yet, Adam had seemingly figured all out in a matter of monts!

“Yeah, it’s pretty simple, really.” Adam shrugged nonchalantly.

Then, he put away the yellowed parchnt. Gathering his spiritual energy at the tip of his finger, he started drawing the model component of the spell in the air.

Wisps of silvery-white energy curled around his fingertip as he started weaving through the air. With fluid motions, he began sketching symbols mid-air.

Arcs, angles, and intersecting lines ford a perfect rotating hexagram.

Each stroke shone brilliantly before settling into place, joining other glowing patterns.

Circles within triangles, runes intersecting parallel lines. Every mark pulsed with spiritual energy, and each stroke had a purpose.

“Anchor lines… stable. Rotational matrix needs adjusting…” Adam murmured, brows furrowed in concentration.

“Hmm, need to condense the core node… and rotate the mana lattice by forty-five degrees…”

Anna was srized by what she was witnessing. Quite frankly, she couldn’t believe how effortlessly Adam was doing what he was doing.

It seed so natural to him, as if he were… breathing.

A small orb of light ford in the center of the spell model, pulsating like a heartbeat, feeding power into the compact formation.

The spell structure hovered in the air like a celestial chart.

Precise. Beautiful. Magical.

“Just a little more… I need to synchronize the ley threads,” Adam muttered under his breath.

His eyes narrowed as he inscribed the final rune into the heart of the pattern. Then, the entire spell model humd in response, coming to life.

A faint, confident smile blood on Adam’s lips. “Not bad, eh?”

He was quite happy with the result.

On the other hand, Anna was stunned!

“Did you just… create a brand new Rank 3 spell?” She turned to Adam, her eyes flashing with shock. “In a few minutes!”

“Ehh.” Adam shrugged. “I an, the foundations were already laid. I just tweaked it a little. No big deal.”

Anna’s mouth was agape.

No big deal…

No big deal?!

She thought incredulously.

“Just what happened to you?” She spoke after a long ti. “You used to hate studying as a child, but now… all of a sudden, you’re a genius?”

“Hehe,” Adam chuckled slyly. “Just imagine if I had taken studying seriously back then. Genius? Please, that word doesn’t co close to capturing my greatness. Ah, what can I say? So stars are born to burn too brightly.”

Anna was flabergasted.

Is he being serious?

So arrogant?

So theatrical?

In the end, she sighed helplessly. “There’s no saving you, Adam.”

The raven-haired youth let out a light chuckle. He then turned to Anna and asked with a faint smile, “What do you wish to na this spell?”

Anna thought for a mont before revealing a dazzling smile. “You should na it after your mother.”

Adam recalled his dear mother and smiled warmly, his eyes flashing with reminiscence. “Yes, that… just feels right.”

And thus, the new spell was born.

A spell that heralded the coming of the Dark King.

When cast, it offered conviction. A reminder that no matter how long the darkness lasts, light will always return.

It was a spell that symbolized hope…
