Chapter 565: Cagliari I
**14th March 2021**
The next matchday for the Uventus team had arrived and they had travelled to Cagliari for their match against the Cagliari team.
Just like usual, they had to put their all out for this match, but this match was a little different as the Inter Milan team had lost their ga the previous day which ant that as long as the Uventus team won the ga, they would take the position of the first team on the table.
Previously the Inter Milan team had one point more than them so winning this ga would put the Uventus three points ahead of the Inter Milan team and the Uventus players couldn’t deny that they were looking forward to it, especially now that the season was already winding down.
There was only a little over ten gas left so it was the best ti to take the lead on the table.
The players of the two teams had arrived at the stadium and had done their warm-ups and were marching out to the field in their jerseys.
The Uventus team had a mission and the Cagliari team’s mission was to do everything to stop them from achieving it.
The match soon began and the match got off to an exciting start as the morale of the Uventus’ previous win wasn’t washed away yet and they were soon launching attack after after attack while the Cagliari team was barely able to keep them away from peppering them with goals.
The Cagliari team wasn’t able to hold on for long as the Uventus soon had their first goal scoring chance.
#10th minute…
The Uventus team had been moving the ball from the center of the field with well placed short passes and Bentacur soon found Ramsey about thirty yards out.
Due to the sudden attack, the Cagliari team had quickly rushed back to defend while not all the Uventus players had rushed forward so there was space to run in behind without one being offside.
Jason imdiately took the chance to make his move.
First moving as if he wanted to co short, his marker followed him, but suddenly, he changed direction and ran forward, freeing himself as he made a cutting run forward.
Ramsey swiftly pin-pointed Jason and sent the ball Jason’s way and he received the ball just as he stepped into the penalty box.
The nearby Cagliari defenders imdiately lunged at him, but this only freed up the other players and Jason sent a pass into the center of the penalty where only Ronaldo and one Cagliari defender.
Before the ball even reached Ronaldo, the Cagliari defender was already lunging at him, but Ronaldo received the ball deftly and avoided the tackle easily, escaping the defenders range and rifling a shot ho.
The Cagliari goalkeeper wasn’t able to do anything but watch the ball fly into the back of the net.
{Goal! Uventus!}
{In the blink of an eye, they take the lead!}
{A very fluid and quick attack! Cagliari didn’t know what hit them!}
{It’s clear that the defenders reacted quickly and tried to close down Jason, but he didn’t even bother taking them on and just let the ball go to the next person}
While the comntator was shouting, Ronaldo was running to the sidelines and jumped into a knee slide in joy and he was quickly joined by his excited teammates.
The celebrations didn’t take too long and the players were soon headed back to their half of the field to resu the ga.
#25th minute…
The ga resud quickly and the Uventus resud their dominant play despite the Cagliari’s attempts to break out and take the reins in the ga.
Just as the Cagliari team had tried to react to going behind, so also had the Uventus team been bolstered by their goal and they wanted nothing more than to extend their lead at that mont.
The Cagliari team was just as against that as much as they wanted to score an equalizer and were doing their best to hold back the Uventus team, but football wasn’t a ga where one needed the permission of their opponents to score.
The Uventus team was soon at it again when Alex Sandro sent a pass to Jason from the back.
Jason had faked as if he wanted to receive the ball, but had let it roll between his legs and then chased after it, leaving his marker eating his dust.
The other players on the field reacted approriately with the Uventus players doing their best to run into open spaces and free themselves while the Cagliari players chased after those players to cut off Jason’s passing options while so chased after him to retrieve the ball.
After escaping his marker, Jason’s path down the left flank was free, but he wanted to score so he began cutting inside as he ran forward, but a Cagliari tried a slide tackle at Jason from his right and Jason kicked the ball back to the left flank while jumping over the tackle.
The tackle had set him back a bit, but as soon as he caught up to the ball, he once again began cutting into the penalty box quickly doing a one-two with Ronaldo to escape another defender.
Jason raced for the ball after Ronaldo sent it into his path and just as he almost caught up to it, another Cagliar defender ca sliding in.
Jason didn’t see the tackle on ti so by the ti he was able to react, it was too late and the defender swept his legs away from under him.
*Fweeeeeeeeee*
Just as Jason went tumbling over, the referee blew his whistle loudly and ca running over while pointing at the penalty spot.
On reaching the crash site,the referee’s hand went into his pocket and he drew out a yellow card that he showed the Cagliari defender who had made the tackle.
{He deserved that yellow card for making such a rough tackle and Uventus have a penalty!}
Jason didn’t care about the yellow card and was still in a lot of pain after the tackle because the Cagliari defender had hit his ankle hard.
The pain slowly reduced to a point where Jason could endure it and get up, but he was already very sure that the tackle would at least leave a bruise.
He stepped off the field and sat back down, calling for the dical team while Ronaldo got ready to take the penalty.
