{It’s Christiano Ronaldoooooo!!!} the comntator scread as the ball thundered towards goal.
It looked like the ball was slowly flying towards the goal, inevitably homing towards the back of the net, however in reality it took just a second for the ball to arrive within a ter of the goal.
Unable to reach it, Courtois’ eyes followed the ball as it flew past him and then,
*CLANG!!!*
The ball slamd against the crossbar and flew over the goal and out of play.
{{Ohhhhhh!!!}} in accompanint with the comntators shout, all the Uventus fans in the stadium and in their hos scread in disappointnt as they watched the ball fly out of play.
{Daring attempt from Ronaldo, but unfortunately, he needed to do better than the crossbar. What do you think, Arnold?} the comntator asked his co-comntator for expert analysis.
{... Sorry, I’m still in shock after witnessing that attempt. He was more than thirty yards out and still he decided to take a chance at goal. That’s just maddening}
{It reminds of a basketball player trying to hit a buzzer beater... or in simpler terms, trying to make a basket with a shot from anywhere on the court before the ti runs out}
{In all honesty, I’m surprised he even dared to have a go, and he nearly made them pay for giving him that much space} the co-comntator was still speaking when the referee blew his whistle, not giving the Madrid team a chance to take a goal kick.
{What a match. Absolutely top-drawer performances from the two sides and the only reason this ga doesn’t have an extravagant scoreline is because of the equally strong defensive efforts of the two teams} the comntator began as the players began to walk off the field.
{That and their luck, though Madrid seems to be the luckier side. They should be a few goals behind, but they have also been putting forward intense efforts on the attack to score as well}
{As the players step off the field for a little rest, I can’t help but wonder, if all that went wrong had gone right, what kind of scoreline would we have?} the co-comntator asked.
{That is an interesting question to ponder, but for now, we’ll see what the remaining half of this ga holds for us. We’ll be back after the second half} the comntator ended the comntary there while the players of the two teams walked into the tunnel with sweat glistening all over their bodies along with the rest of their squads, staff and managers.
As the Uventus players entered their locker room, Pirlo called out to his players as he entered with them,
"Everyone sit down, drink so water and take deep breaths. There is a lot we have to address,"
"Chiesa, let’s start with you. What were you doing out there?"
Chiesa shivered at the manager’s words. He had been expecting Pirlo to call him out for his performance, but he hadn’t thought the manager would start with him.
’I know they called off my goal for offside, but that should at least count for sothing, right,’ he mumbled internally.
"Is being dumb now added to your flaws? I asked you what happened out there and why you were playing like pregnant baboon?" Pirlo’s words cut deep across the room and even the other players winced.
"I was off my ga a bit at the start, made so mistakes, but I think I’m ok now," Chiesa managed to reply after a slight pause to swallow his welling anger.
"This is the second leg of the Champions League semifinals. It’s a very important ga, you’re not supposed to make that many mistakes!"
"Wasting of goal chances can be accepted. Everyone makes bad touches every now and then, but we’ve had about three goal scoring chances where it would have been better for you to either leave the ball to a teammate because the ball wasn’t ant for you in the first place, or you could have passed the ball to a more open teammate,"
"Football is a team ga and tonight is a very important ga. This is the ti for you to not only prove your quality to the world, but also to prove that you can win as a team,"
"I didn’t see any of those qualities from you in the first half,"
"The offside goal you scored for doesn’t count for anything. You have played terribly so far and if this continues, I will take you off," Pirlo said everything he wanted to say to Chiesa at a stretch and then turned back to the rest of the players.
"We have done well so far, but despite what the scoreline says, it is clear that you guys..." Pirlo gestured to the defenders.
"... are not doing enough to keep out our opponents,"
"Our ga plan for today is ant to ensure our solidity in the center. We knew the flanks would be weaker because of this, but that was supposed to be countered by you guys being able to stop the cross when it cos in,"
"You guys have had problems doing that and even in the center, there have been holes that allowed our opponents to get in behind us,"
"We owe our current scoreline to Gigi, but he can’t keep saving us like that,"
"I expect more solidity from you guys in the second half. Take the ball, use it,"
"If there is space, work together to create attacks, Chiesa, Kulusevski and Christiano, you guys can spread wide and support the attack on the flanks if the center is blocked,"
"If we don’t have possession, mark tightly, don’t give them any space. Man on man marking for the midfielders and zonal marking for the wingers,"
"Ramsey and Mckennie, pin down Modric and Kroos, we need to stop them from making those defense splitting passes," Pirlo gave orders to his players at lightning speed, using the magnetic board to expatiate the differences his instructions would make and show the other players how they should adjust to their teammates.
Ti quickly flew by, and soon the players were soon marching back onto the field, re-energized and ready to once again entertain their viewers while battling it out for a ticket to the Champions League finals.
