The night passed quietly.
The next day, Seii was up early. After a quick wash, he dove straight into training.
As he'd predicted the night before, the five proficiency points he'd earned laid a solid foundation. Practicing Sage Mode today felt noticeably easier.
In just one day, he racked up thirty-five proficiency points.
With that, his Sage Mode proficiency on the panel jumped to lv0 (40/100)!
By the third day, he gained even more—fifty points, to be exact.
Then, on the morning of the fourth day, he finally broke through and mastered the basics of the technique.
In the open clearing at the center of Moon Island, Seii slowly opened his eyes.
At that mont, his understanding of Sage Mode deepened significantly, like he'd climbed a whole new step.
He had a gut feeling: if he tried Sage Mode again now, without anyone interrupting, there's no way he'd fail. Sure, it might take a bit longer to get into the state, but failure? Not an option anymore.
This ant his proficiency would climb much faster from here on out.
How much faster? That'd require so testing.
With that thought, Seii didn't waste any ti. He popped a few enhanced soldier pills to replenish the energy he'd just burned, then cast Multiple Shadow Clone Jutsu.
Poof! Poof! Poof!
With bursts of chakra smoke, ten identical figures appeared in the clearing.
As usual, Seii infused each clone with an equal amount of natural energy.
Then, with a nod to them, the clones got to work. Without a word, each picked a direction, moved a short distance away, and sat cross-legged. They began blending their chakra with natural energy, preparing to enter Sage Mode.
Ti ticked by, second by second.
A few minutes later, without a single hiccup, all ten shadow clones successfully entered Sage Mode.
Seii watched them closely, taking in the subtleties of Sage Mode's power. He didn't say a word, just quietly observed.
About ten minutes later, the clones started exiting Sage Mode one by one.
This ti, though, Seii didn't rush to dispel them and absorb their training experience. Instead, he had them try entering Sage Mode again.
Before mastering the basics, he'd had no choice but to frequently dispel his clones to collect their experience. Now, though, he needed to think about optimizing his training routine.
Dispelling clones every ten minutes or so? That'd be a nightmare. Not only would it drain his chakra like crazy, but the ti wasted would be enough to make him wince.
Plus, it'd throw off his rhythm for training other skills.
So, it was ti to test the clones' limits.
His gaze shifted back to the ten shadow clones.
Following his orders, the clones didn't hesitate. After a brief rest and so reflection, they began rging their chakra, physical energy, and natural energy again, attempting to re-enter Sage Mode.
Ti passed once more.
Roughly ten minutes later, a distinct wave of chakra rippled through the air. All ten clones had entered Sage Mode again.
It was clear this ti took longer, likely because exiting the mode earlier had so lingering effects.
Still, they succeeded in entering Sage Mode a second ti.
Seii glanced at the ti. Over twenty minutes had passed since the test began.
If the clones exited Sage Mode again, it'd likely be around the thirty-minute mark. Given the noticeable delay in re-entering, entering and exiting Sage Mode one more ti would probably take them to about an hour total.
This ant he could easily weave Sage Mode training into his practice with other techniques.
But could the clones handle entering Sage Mode a third ti?
Ten minutes later, the clones exited Sage Mode again.
Seii carefully sensed their condition. Seeing no major issues, he had them take a mont to stabilize before ordering them to try entering Sage Mode once more.
As expected, this ti it took even longer to rge their senjutsu chakra, and they could only maintain Sage Mode for a shorter period.
But the key was—they succeeded again.
In other words, the clones could absolutely handle entering Sage Mode a third ti.
This confird that Seii could train Sage Mode alongside other techniques without any issues.
Now, it was ti to see the results.
With a thought, Seii released the Multiple Shadow Clone Jutsu.
In an instant, the ten clones dissolved into thin air.
At the sa ti, ten sets of mories flooded his mind, along with ten streams of chakra and natural energy.
But the mont he sensed that chakra and natural energy, Seii's expression darkened.
Suppressing the uneasy feeling in his chest, he carefully sorted and stored the chakra and natural energy. Then he closed his eyes and began sifting through the mories, absorbing the training experience they held.
Ti ticked by slowly.
After about seven or eight minutes, Seii opened his eyes again.
With a thought, he pulled up his panel.
In the skills section, his Sage Mode proficiency had jumped by twenty-five points, going from lv1 (1/200)—freshly upgraded—to lv1 (26/200).
On average, each clone earned about 0.83 proficiency points per Sage Mode activation and max duration. It should've been 1 point per activation, but with ten clones training at once, so overlap in experience was unavoidable.
So, across thirty total Sage Mode activations, the ten clones netted him twenty-five proficiency points.
Even so, this was leaps and bounds faster than before he'd mastered the basics.
The downside? The cost was steep.
In just one hour, those ten clones had burned through a staggering 100,000 points of chakra and natural energy. That's 4,000 points per proficiency point gained.
That's why Seii's face fell when he absorbed their chakra and natural energy.
Sure, it wasn't as bad as training Dust Release: Boundary Stripping Technique, which cost 8,000 chakra points per proficiency point. But it was still double the cost of training Dust Release: Original Boundary Stripping Technique.
The good news? This was temporary.
Based on the clones' training, most of the high cost ca from senjutsu chakra leaking out after entering Sage Mode.
That could be fixed by leveling up Sage Mode. As his mastery improved, he'd gain better control over his state, leaking less senjutsu chakra.
This would naturally cut down on the chakra and natural energy consud during training.
On top of that, leveling up Sage Mode would extend how long he could maintain it, giving him more ti to gain insights and convert them into proficiency points—potentially boosting his gains even further.
This would speed up his Sage Mode leveling even more.
Realizing all this, Seii let out a long breath, feeling a bit more at ease.
