Now reading: Chapter 105: I Am a Summoner from Grinding EXP From Fireball Skill, a Eastern novel by Questioning HeavenSeeking the Path.

While Li Wei was on the third floor of the Mage Tower looking up quests for the Kovada Mine, the Magic Butler inford him of a few things.

"Mage Li Wei, you have passed the Official Mage certification and are now entitled to the corresponding benefits."

"After deducting the monthly benefits you’ve already collected, you still have four Contribution points available to claim."

Li Wei was surprised. "That many?"

The Magic Butler ignored his surprise.

Snapping out of it, Li Wei imdiately claid the Contribution points.

Li Wei was delighted as he looked at the four Contribution points on the back of his Magic Badge.

’I can’t believe Official Mages get five Contribution points every month.’

’If I’d known, I would’ve gotten certified back in May.’

’What a waste of a month!’

Li Wei shook his head, feeling like he’d missed out on a fortune.

Then he thought of sothing else and asked, "By the way, what are the benefits for an Official Mage participating in combat?"

The Magic Butler replied, "A fixed three Contribution points per day."

Li Wei’s mouth twitched. ’Basically, I really did miss out on a fortune this ti!’

’No wonder Gu Ze was in such a rush to get certified as an Official Mage.’

’This was the reason why.’

Li Wei didn’t even want to talk anymore.

He didn’t want to find out what other benefits he had missed.

Otherwise, he might just die from regret.

Li Wei complained inwardly, ’Why didn’t Teacher Gu Ze tell about this sooner?’

Gu Ze: "..."

Of course, it was because Gu Ze assud he already knew.

’Isn’t this common knowledge for every Apprentice Mage?’

Li Wei quickly cramd on the Mage Tower’s various rules and regulations to avoid missing out on any more benefits.

That afternoon, Li Wei left the Mage Tower.

After buying so supplies for the wilderness, he and his Shadow Attendant set out for the Kovada Mine.

The journey to the Kovada Mine was a long one.

’If I want to find Secret Silver Ore, I’ll probably have to stay for a few extra days.’

Li Wei was prepared to live in the wild.

After ten kiloters, he was starting to regret his decision. ’Why didn’t I rent a horse?’

’Then again, I don’t think I know how to ride one.’

Li Wei agonized over it for a mont before giving up.

"Shadow Attendant, carry ."

The Shadow Attendant seed puzzled for a mont before rushing into the woods.

ROAR!

A brown bear rushed out of the woods, charging toward Li Wei.

The attack was so sudden that Li Wei barely had ti to react.

Just as the brown bear was about to reach him, it suddenly stopped, prostrated itself, and looked up at Li Wei with a fawning expression.

Li Wei hesitated for a mont before asking, "Shadow Attendant?"

The brown bear nodded repeatedly.

Li Wei laughed. "Haha, this’ll work."

He climbed onto the brown bear’s back, and the Shadow Attendant, controlling the bear’s body, carried him toward the Kovada Mine.

The travelers they passed on the road all stared in amazent.

"Riding a bear? Are you a Summoner?"

A young woman on the road asked curiously.

Li Wei was shrouded in his Invisibility Cloak, his face a fabrication of the Illusion Technique.

He glanced at the female Warrior and said with a smile, "That’s right. I’m a Summoner."

In Maple City, Summoners were even rarer than Mages.

Prompted by the young woman’s question, Li Wei decided to disguise himself as a Summoner.

’The Shadow Attendant can transform into all sorts of Summoned Creatures.’

Li Wei chuckled to himself at the thought.

Traveling by bear was much less tiring.

However, the brown bear the Shadow Attendant had parasitized was just an ordinary beast.

Li Wei decided to find an opportunity to switch to a Magic Beast; it would be more fitting for his Summoner persona.

The Shadow Attendant was already Tier Two Middle Level.

It could use Possession Control on Magic Beasts below Tier Two Middle Level.

By the ti he arrived at the Kovada Mine on the bear, it was already after five in the afternoon.

The Sun was setting, and the sky was filled with red clouds, bathing most of the mine in a crimson glow.

The appearance of the Iron-Eating Ants had not interrupted the mining work at Kovada Mine.

Mining operations continued as usual.

Only the mine shafts near the Iron-Eating Ants were sealed off, with all mining activity halted in that area.

When Li Wei arrived, the mine’s Beastman Miners were hauling up the last batch of ore for the day.

Kovada’s mining techniques were extrely primitive, relying entirely on manual labor to excavate the ore.

Li Wei stood on a hilltop, watching the miners below. They looked like black ants, scurrying back and forth between the mine entrances and the storage depots.

"Hello, are you one of the Professionals here to exterminate the Iron-Eating Ants?"

Several patrolling soldiers saw Li Wei on his bear and knew he was no ordinary man. Their captain asked cautiously.

Li Wei nodded. "Yes. Where are the Iron-Eating Ants?"

The patrol captain pointed to the other side of the mountain. "The Iron-Eating Ants are active on that side of the mountain. You’ll see it when you get over there. A rest camp has been set up for the Professionals."

"Kovada Mine is currently a militarily controlled zone, so please refrain from entering other areas at will. It might cause unnecessary trouble," the patrol captain reminded him.

"Alright, I understand. Thank you," Li Wei said.

The patrol captain quickly replied, "You’re welco, Sir. Please be careful."

The Shadow Attendant directed the brown bear to carry Li Wei toward the other side of the mountain.

After cresting the mountain, Li Wei saw a newly opened mine on the mountainside.

There were almost no miners to be seen at this site; it was filled with Professionals.

Soldiers stood guard all around.

Li Wei arrived at the rest camp on the mountainside.

The soldiers on duty gave him a second glance but didn’t stop him, allowing him to enter the camp.

"Ahaha, Brad! Any luck today?"

"Don’t even talk about it. I was nearly eaten by those Iron-Eating Ants."

"Mage Gu Ze, it was a pleasure working with you. I hope we can team up again tomorrow."

"Oh? Who’s the guy on the bear? Is that his pet?"

"Doesn’t look like it. Looks more like a wild bear."

...

Gu Ze and Rota were walking together, heading toward the rest camp.

Hearing the others’ chatter, he turned to look.

Gu Ze looked surprised. "A Summoner?"

Hearing this, Rota also turned to look. "A Summoner. You don’t see many of them around Maple City."

"He doesn’t seem like an ordinary Summoner. A typical Summoner can’t control a wild bear. Could he be a Druid?" Rota speculated.

Gu Ze shook his head. "Druids almost never leave the Elf Empire, so it’s unlikely."

"I’ve heard that in the Western Desert there’s an Extraordinary Profession called Beast Tar. They can ta and control wild beasts," Rota said.

Li Wei saw Gu Ze and Rota as well.

He didn’t go near them, instead finding an empty corner of the rest camp to stop and rest.

The so-called rest camp was little more than a flat piece of ground with a bonfire in the middle, lacking even a simple fence.

Everyone either pitched their tents near the bonfire or simply sat directly on the ground.

The bonfire could be used for roasting at and boiling water.

It t the basic requirents for a place to rest.

The brown bear lay down. Li Wei spread a blanket on the ground, sat, and leaned back against the bear to rest.

He was a little tired after riding the bear for half the day.

His Cultivation of the Rock Breathing thod had paid off, making his body considerably more robust.

But compared to a true Extraordinary Being, he was still just a relatively healthy ordinary person.

He usually stayed inside the Mage Tower and rarely went out.

Li Wei hadn’t paid much attention to the Rock Breathing thod, only performing his Cultivation whenever he happened to think of it each day.

Only after this trip did he begin to take it seriously, realizing that stamina was also crucial for a Mage.

THUD!

A Warrior carrying a wild boar threw it on the ground.

"Co on, everyone! The at’s on !"
