Li Wei entered the Second Dream World.
He fell into the River of Dreams, standing firm upon its surface.
The water was shallow, barely covering the soles of Li Wei’s feet.
Yet, looking down, it seed bottomless.
Countless iridescent Dream Bubbles, constantly being born and dying, flowed within the river.
Just a mont ago, he had been beneath the river, passing through the surface to arrive on top of it.
It seed like an ascent, but it was actually a descent.
The dream is the reverse of reality; the closer one gets to the dream, the farther one is from reality.
It was like a card. Li Wei had originally been in the sliver between its sides, but now he had reached the card’s reverse face.
The endless Dream Fog still perated the river’s surface, and the distance was shrouded in pitch-black darkness.
Looking up, he saw one hundred and eight massive, multicolored stars hanging high in the sky.
The largest star was the farthest from Li Wei.
After staring at the sky for a while, Li Wei felt as if the darkness was squirming, and the stars were like eyes watching him.
Li Wei quickly lowered his head, not daring to look for too long.
’Is this the true Dream World? It’s so magnificent!’
The boundless River of Dreams, the one hundred and eight stars suspended in the black sky.
Li Wei crouched down and looked at the Dream Bubbles flowing past his feet.
He sensed that he could enter any of the Dream Bubbles whenever he wished.
Every mont, Dream Bubbles were shattering and forming.
The Dream Bubbles disappeared far more quickly than Li Wei had imagined.
"Shadow Attendant."
Li Wei used his Spiritual Power to nourish the Nightmare Core, helping the Shadow Attendant reconstruct its body.
With a casual bit of Casting, he cloaked it in a layer of Invisible Armor.
He didn’t stack any Armor on it, to avoid the situation where it might just vanish again while traversing the Dream World.
Li Wei had a rough idea why the Shadow Attendant had disappeared.
Nightmares are the "fish" that live in the waters of the River of Dreams, growing up by eating "Dream Bubbles."
The vast majority of these fish cannot leave the river.
To leave is to die.
The Shadow Attendant’s Nightmare Core was inside Li Wei’s body, which was the only reason it hadn’t truly died.
With a thought from Li Wei, a portal slowly rose from the river’s water.
Opening the door revealed his safe house on the other side.
After confirming he could return to the safe house at any ti, Li Wei began to explore the River of Dreams.
Li Wei put on his Invisibility Cloak and vanished.
The Shadow Attendant, dressed in a black robe, walked on the river’s surface.
It looked as though the Shadow Attendant was alone.
Upon entering the Second Dream World, replicas of his Invisibility Cloak, Magic Wand, and other items appeared directly in the dream.
They worked just as they did in reality.
And being destroyed here wouldn’t affect the real items.
Li Wei suspected that perhaps after entering deeper into the Dream World, he might even be able to bring out items from reality directly.
It was very strange.
The deeper one went into the Dream World, the farther one should have been from the real world.
But the result was the opposite.
The deeper one went into the Dream World, the closer one got to the real world.
If the Dream World and the real world were two sides of a card, then going deeper into the Dream World wasn’t moving away from the card’s face.
Rather, it was continuously reducing the card’s thickness.
Until reality and the dream beca indistinguishable.
When the real becos fake, the fake becos real!
The boundary between truth and illusion would be lost, a world where materialism and idealism coexist.
Li Wei walked aimlessly along the River of Dreams.
Looking down, he could occasionally glimpse fragntary scenes inside the Dream Bubbles.
Now on the River of Dreams, the number and range of dreams Li Wei could access had increased dramatically.
After just a few steps, he noticed so dreams that didn’t belong to Maple City.
’Hmm? A vortex?’
Li Wei stopped and looked at a small vortex ten ters away.
Inside the small vortex, Dream Bubbles were forming and dissipating at a much faster rate than on the normal river surface.
He cautiously approached and stared into the vortex.
A mont later, a look of surprise appeared on Li Wei’s face.
’So this is the large-scale rged Nightmare dream from Cold Sand City?’
Li Wei noticed the vortex was gradually shrinking, though very slowly.
This ant the rged dream of Cold Sand City was about to dissipate.
Li Wei was just about to take the Shadow Attendant into the Cold Sand City rged dream to hunt so Nightmares and help it increase its strength.
Suddenly, the Dream Fog not far away began to churn abnormally.
Seeing this, Li Wei imdiately stopped and turned to look.
The churning gray fog gradually approached Li Wei.
SPLASH SPLASH SPLASH!
Li Wei heard the sound of soone running quickly, splashing across the water’s surface.
’Soone’s here?’
A look of surprise crossed Li Wei’s face.
Anyone encountered on the River of Dreams would certainly be a Drear.
Everyone who is dreaming is inside the River of Dreams.
Before long, a figure burst into Li Wei’s field of vision.
WHOOSH!
The figure flashed past.
A mont later, the figure seed to have noticed sothing and quickly turned, running back toward him.
"Quick, help ! We need to fight this Lost Soul together!"
’A Lost Soul?’
Li Wei was puzzled but remained silent.
He didn’t want to expose himself.
As she drew closer, Li Wei realized he actually knew her.
The newcor was none other than Tanya, the Tier Three Half-Elf Shooter from the Shooter Association.
"Help hold the Lost Soul off for a mont! I’ll attack!"
Tanya said quickly.
The Shadow Attendant remained motionless. Tanya stopped behind it, drawing her bow and nocking an arrow.
The arrow began to coalesce with a Magic Radiance.
WHOOSH!
The Lost Soul Tanya had ntioned also appeared in Li Wei’s vision.
It was an armored Warrior with a mangled body, a hideous face, and the form of a living corpse, shrouded in a gray fog.
The Lost Soul saw the Shadow Attendant and charged without hesitation.
With a thought, Li Wei commanded the Shadow Attendant to block the Lost Soul.
BANG! CRACK!
The Lost Soul’s sword struck the Shadow Attendant heavily, shattering the Invisible Armor in one blow.
With a BANG, the Shadow Attendant was hacked apart by the sword, its body exploding and scattering across the ground.
Tanya’s eyes widened. She hadn’t expected the Shadow Attendant to be so pathetic!
Seeing this, Li Wei also understood that the Lost Soul’s strength was at least Tier Two High Level.
Otherwise, it wouldn’t have been able to shatter his Invisible Armor in a single strike.
Although the Shadow Attendant died quickly, it still bought Tanya an opportunity.
SWOOSH!
The Magic Arrow shot out, flying toward the Lost Soul.
The Lost Soul swung its Great Sword, trying to block the attack.
BANG!
The Magic Arrow suddenly split apart, becoming seven or eight beams of light that pierced through the Lost Soul’s body.
Heavily wounded, the Lost Soul’s form trembled violently, flickering in and out of existence.
A mont later, the Lost Soul stabilized its form. Its body had grown much dimr, and more of its mangled limbs had faded into nothingness.
The entire left side of its body had beco transparent, on the verge of disappearing.
Only the right half of its body remained relatively solid.
Seeing this, Tanya sighed. It was a pity she hadn’t managed to kill it in one shot.
Normal attacks couldn’t harm a Lost Soul.
Only a Magic Arrow infused with Spiritual Power could damage it.
She raised her shortbow and drew the string.
SWOOSH! SWOOSH! SWOOSH!
Green Magic Energy coalesced into an arrow on the bowstring.
She attacked the Lost Soul with an extrely high rate of fire.
These arrows weren’t as powerful as the previous splitting arrow, but thankfully the Lost Soul was already heavily wounded. She could just wear it down until it died.
WHOOSH!
The Lost Soul leaped up, shot into the sky, and vanished into the fog.
Tanya stared nervously at the sky above.
Every ti the Lost Soul was on the verge of defeat, it would use this move.
It would break line of sight, then quickly descend from the sky.
The power of that single strike was terrifying!
If hit, the best outco would be serious injury; the worst, death.
