Yan Su dropped her eyes. Her eyelashes shook slightly. “They must hate me,” she said with a bitter smile. “They raised me, yet I abandoned them and left with Shi Xiang. I’m famous now, but… they never tried to find me…”
“I wouldn’t e to find you either if I were them,” said Mo Liuxi. “You know that your parents did hard work to raise you. They did not only gave birth to you, but raised you. Yet, you left them because of a man. They might be angry, but more importantly, they must be heartbroken.”
Hearing him, Yan Su felt so ashamed. “I don’t know why did that…” Her eyes turned red when she said that.
“If I were that boy.” Mo Liuxi stood on the other side of the kitchen range. He looked her in the eyes and said, “When your parents didn’t want us to be together, I would have promised you that I would bee successful and e back to you, instead of letting you betray your family.”
Yan Su paused briefly, looking at him with surprise.
He was only about twenty years old. He still seemed like a young boy. However, the look in his eyes was so mature.
“Mo Liuxi, how old are you exactly?”
“Twenty.” Mo Liuxi turned his face away and said, “But, I’m not like you. Your family is wealthy. Your parents never allowed you to suffer any bitterness. Unlike me, you don’t understand how it feels when your mother coaxes you to eat the last half bowl of rice while she herself is starving.”
“You’re talking about Aunty Mo…”
“Yeah.” Mo Liuxi nodded. “Most parents will never betray and abandon their children. You’re a girl. When you recklessly left home with that boy, did you think about who might help you if he mistreated you?”
“You’re right.” Yan Su nodded, smiled, and said, “If only I was as smart as you back then.”
“Why don’t you say ‘if only you liked a boy as smart as you?'” Mo Liuxi walked up behind her, pressing his chest to her back.
Yan Su turned and looked into his passionate eyes.
Her cheeks reddened. She glared at him and said, “Can you please not get so close to me? You’re taking advantage of me. Are you aware of that?”
Mo Liuxi didn’t answer her question. “Su, I’m just jealous of Shi Xiang. You loved him so much that you even betrayed the world for him.”
Yan Su’s hand that was holding the knife shook slightly.
“What’s there to be jealous of…” she murmured. Mo Liuxi wasn’t a part of her past, but hadn’t he said that he would be a part of her future?
“I am jealous.” Mo Liuxi turned her body around and said, “So this year, take me home and let me meet your parents.”
That change of topic happened a little too fast.
“Why would I bring you home?” Yan Su didn’t understand.
“I’ll be so nice to them, like a good son, because you weren’t a good daughter,” Mo Liuxi said with a faint smile.
Yan Su was speechless for a moment.
“You’re only twenty, right?” She couldn’t help but remind him of that. “You’re still in college. If I bring home a boy from my college who’s younger than me, my parents wouldn’t forgive me. Instead, they would kill me. They’d think that I’m not doing anything right, but that I keep falling in love with the wrong people. I first fell in love at an early age and left home, and now I’ve seduced a boy who’s younger than me. That’s what they’ll think about it.”
“You’re right.” Mo Liuxi frowned. “Let’s wait for a couple of years then.”
“Eh…” Yan Su hadn’t expected to hear that. “I don’t think we’re in a relationship yet…”
