Now reading: Chapter 226: BIRTH OF THE TYRANT from Guide Me If You Dare, a Yaoi novel by solacola.

KI GAYOON hated press conferences, and he hated answering to the reporters more.

That was why he let President Kwak Hakjae and Professor J of the Awakened World Organization announce the arrest of President Cheol Kang, along with the betrayal of Ryu Sungbin, Matthew, and Jin Sooin.

While the two were explaining to the reporters, Gayoon just sat in the back while subtly checking his Status Window.

He was already done with his job anyway.

Before the press conference began, he reached out to soone who was close to Noh Yuno.

If they can’t tell where Noh Yuno is, I’ll just work them to the bone.

"We will release a detailed report about the experints that the National Guide Bureau, led by Chief Kim Munhee-nim and Guide Bambi-nim, perford on our top Espers," President Kwak Hakjae said without blinking despite the continuous flashes of caras. "The horrible project was supported by President Cheol Kang, hence his arrest."

The reporters then asked about the authenticity of the video evidence that the Esper Association played earlier.

"As the representative of the Awakened World Organization, we’ve co here to validate the authenticity of the evidence that President Kwak Hakjae sent to us," Professor J, lying with a straight face. "The Awakened World Organization finds President Cheol Kang, Guide Bambi, Esper Ryu Sungbin, Esper Matthew, and Esper Jin Sooin guilty for conducting inhuman experints on Espers without consent."

With 17 and Hayoung Cheon standing behind Professor J, the professor’s words weighed heavier than they were intended to.

In fact, the AWO representatives looked really intimidating at the mont.

Hence, it was understandable that the reporters looked hesitant to ask more questions.

This is the power of the world’s strongest organization.

"Assuming that everything we have heard and seen so far is true, is declaring the Esper Law really necessary?"

Ah, that question is for .

Hence, Gayoon stood up and took the stage— standing on the podium, speaking on the mic with his usual indifference. "Yes, implenting the Esper Law is necessary to stop our country from crumbling. Now that the governnt and the National Guide Bureau have been proven to betray us, our country has just beco vulnerable against outside attacks."

The flashes of the caras in front suddenly stopped blinding them as the reporters and the caran froze in shock. It was as if those people just realized the risk of having their weakness exposed to the world.

Invasion.

Many Western countries had fallen that way.

There are several countries in Europe that suddenly rembered their love for colonizing other nations when the apocalypse began. Those countries have already invaded a few third-world countries.

Gayoon would be damned if he let those colonizers invade South Korea.

And that was exactly why he declared the Esper Law.

I don’t have the ti to convince the Civilians to trust , so I need to control them first to avoid dumb people from instigating a rebellion.

"Let this serve as a warning to anyone who is stupid enough to think that South Korea is about to fall at any mont: no, that won’t happen," Gayoon said firmly. "As long as I am here, South Korea won’t fall. You’re free to try— if you have a death wish, that is."

He may not have been active in the Esper scene for the past few years since he focused on expanding his business.

But his reputation didn’t go anywhere.

This much should be enough to make those bastards think twice about attacking South Korea.

To be honest, Gayoon didn’t have ti to protect his country.

So, technically, he was half-bluffing.

He could fight, but he wouldn’t if he didn’t have to since he’d like to dedicate his ti to finding Noh Yuno.

But if so stupid bastards try their luck, I have people who will fight in my stead.

"From now on, the Beom-seok Guild will lead the Esper Association," Gayoon said. He was talking about his guild. Hence, he was confirming that he would be the next leader of South Korea now that President Cheol Kang had been arrested. "All the Espers in this country will have to report to the Esper Association from now on. We will send all the private guilds the necessary docunts that they need to submit to us."

When the National Guide Bureau gained more power than the Esper Association because of Ryu Sungbin’s support, most private guilds began ignoring the association.

They just go there when their Espers awaken.

But that was about to change now.

"If you have a problem with leading the country, then be ready to fight," Gayoon said, scoffing. "From this mont on, I hereby declare the Rogue Clan an official guild that works directly under my command."

Yep.

I did that.

Gayoon just declared the Rogue Clan— a known rebel group— as an official guild.

That was why he reached out to Nam Sori earlier.

Nam Sori was Noh Yuno’s best friend who belonged to the Rogue Clan.

The Rogue Clan was composed of unregistered Espers and Guides who were just as powerful as the other legal Espers and Guides in the country.

Those bastards need to officially register later, but that can wait.

After all, he wasn’t done yet.

"And, from this mont on, the governnt doesn’t own the Guides anymore," Gayoon said sternly. "I will make sure that the Guides will gain the sa freedom that Espers enjoy soon."

"SARANG-SAN, my army picked up a weird signal."

Lee Sarang, who had just finished watching Ki Gayoon’s press conference, lifted her head and t Haru’s gaze. "Is it a dormant dungeon, Oppa?"

"Yes, it is," Haru confird while nodding. "It’s strange because it appeared the day Yuno-kun disappeared."

Ah.

If that’s the case, then it’s possible that Yuno is there. It’s not strange for humans to use a dormant dungeon as a base since Gayoon Oppa does the sa.

"Oppa, can I co and check the dungeon with you?"

"You may, but your previous Guide is requesting a eting with you," Haru said. "Would you like to et Esper Mo Hajin-san?"

Lee Sarang paused for a mont, and then she nodded. "Yes, I’d like to et him."
