HONESTLY, Ki Gayoon didn’t expect that the door to the hidden dungeon would open like that just because he and Haru threw a few Mana bombs here and there.
It’s as if they’re inviting us in.
Obviously, there would be traps once they got in— but it was a risk that the two of them were willing to take.
"I’m surprised that your reckless plan worked, Gayoon-san," Haru said casually while the two of them were walking towards the door. It was a literal door that appeared out of nowhere. "I know that they have set up a trap inside, but I’d like to think that your plan to just bomb them played a part in their decision to let us in."
Right?
This prince bastard thinks the sa as I do.
"See? This is why you don’t always need to make a ticulous plan," Gayoon said, scoffing. "We would have been too late if we waited just because you wanted to make a plan first when you know we’re already running out of ti."
Haru just chuckled, and then the prince bastard got serious when they finally got inside the dungeon.
The scenery changed, of course.
Now they were inside what seed like a facility.
No, it was probably modeled after the Facility— the hellhole where Guides like Noh Yuno were locked in the past.
It’s also similar to the place where Mother raised the First Generation of Espers.
"Gayoon-san, I’m sorry but I have to ditch you here," Haru said in an urgent voice. "Noa-san is in danger. Can you take care of yourself here?"
"Who do you think you are to worry about ?" Gayoon scoffed, annoyed that Haru was treating him like a helpless child. "Go if you must. I can take care of myself and my Guide."
Haru just chuckled, and then he disappeared using his teleportation skill.
Gayoon had the sa ability now, but he actually didn’t have to use it this ti.
[Esper Ki Gayoon-nim, we’re sending you to where Guide Noh Yuno-nim is.]
That was what his Status Window said.
Finally.
And that was how Gayoon arrived in ti to see two bastards torturing Noh Yuno.
"Stay away from my person, bitch."
It had been a while since Gayoon used that derogatory word, but it was the perfect word to use on the Witch.
And he was too angry to filter his words.
Bambi and Song Heejin probably felt his murderous aura as the two stepped away from Gayoon when he marched towards Noh Yuno.
The two left Noh Yuno just like that.
Fortunately, Gayoon reached his lover in ti and caught him before he hit the floor.
But he wasn’t relieved.
Blood.
Noh Yuno was losing too much blood because of the open wound in his chest.
Ah, dammit.
Gayoon felt like he was going to lose his mind, so he hugged Noh Yuno tightly.
Surprisingly, he could still feel and hear his lover’s heartbeat.
It’s faint, but it’s still beating.
There was sothing strange, though.
At first, Gayoon only heard the beats of one heart.
But, soon enough, it was as if several hearts were beating against Noh Yuno’s chest.
Have I finally lost my mind?
"You can hear and feel it, don’t you?" Bambi asked as if he could read what was on Gayoon’s mind at the mont. "Noh Yuno has hundreds of hearts inside him."
That sounded ridiculous at first.
But, after the apocalypse happened, nothing was really impossible in the world anymore.
After all, even a monster like Bambi managed to blend in and deceive us for years.
"It seems like you really don’t know anything about Noh Yihun yet," Song Heejin— the Witch, the ’mother’ that tortured the First Generation of Espers— said in a mocking tone. The bitch even used Noh Yuno’s dead na. "What do you actually know about E-Class Guides, my precious Gayoon-ah?"
Gayoon scoffed, openly displaying his dislike towards the witch.
But he didn’t want to give Song Heejin the satisfaction of getting on his nerves, so he just ignored her.
I need imdiate dical help for my little shit first.
And, so, Gayoon carried Noh Yuno in his arms while talking to the System in his mind.
Take us out of here, will you?
He could feel that he could use his teleportation skill inside the dungeon, but he doubted if he could use it to get out of there.
I can feel the strange barrier around, after all.
Hence, he needed the System’s help to get out of there.
It was faster than destroying the entire place.
"Ki Gayoon, do you know that you’re killing Noh Yihun?"
Gayoon just rolled his eyes— determined not to listen to Song Heejin because he knew the witch was just trying to provoke him.
Moreover, he was busy pouring a Special Grade potion over Noh Yuno’s chest wound.
This should work in the anti.
"E-Class Guides are destined to die by the hands of their Espers?" Song Heejin asked in a mocking tone. "Didn’t Noh Yuno tell you that?"
Gayoon lifted his head and shot Song Heejin with a cold look. "What the fuck do you an by that?"

YUNO could tell that he was having a dream.
Haaah.
I can’t believe I’m having a dream when I’m about to die.
Oh, was that it?
Am I having flashbacks because I’m about to disappear for good?
Nah, that couldn’t be.
I rember Gayoon Hyung finally finding , so I’m sure he won’t let die.
Haaah.
I can’t believe I’m still a yapper even in this state.
Yuno tried not to think so he would also stop talking to himself while looking around.
Actually, at first, he wasn’t sure if he was dreaming or not.
That place was very similar to the dungeon where he was locked up, after all.
But, then again, that place is like a copy of the Facility.
"Please take us with you, Noh Yihun."

Yuno lifted his head, and then the scene around him changed.
All of a sudden, he found himself in a room.
A room that he tried so hard to bury in the corner of his mind.

Yuno hugged himself tightly when his body began to tremble badly.
That room actually looked like a library because of the huge shelves around.
But, instead of books, the shelves were filled with glass jars— and each jar contained a human heart.
And those human hearts belonged to his fellow Guides.
The ones killed by Father...
"Noh Yihun, help us."
And, yes— those hearts were talking to Yuno.
"Stop it," Yuno said weakly, shutting his eyes tightly. "Don’t do this to , please..."
Not again.
