After waking up, the first thing that Ruan Chanchan did was to start working on the animal hides. She had already dealt with the hides of the beast, which were thick and tough. After sitting inside the cave for an entire night, the hides had cooled down and had turned stiff, which was perfect for making bandages now.
"Sister, what are you doing with those hides?" Ruan Zeqiu asked while munching on the leg of the bluebird. After eating the roasted bluebird, he was getting more and more hooked on the taste. It was not fishy; the sll of blood was cleared, and the at was soft and juicy. It was really good. Pity, the at on the small bird was only this much, and he couldn’t eat anymore, even if he wanted to. Why were all the good things so quick to finish? It would have been better if a giant beast’s at tasted this good as well.
Ruan Chanchan picked up the hides that she had collected and started to sterilise them with the heat of the fla. "I am burning away the filth. Though it’s still not enough, it’s better than using stained bandages." If she didn’t use the clean bandages on Nan Wu’s wounds, her wound might have festered due to the many bacteria and germs; the condition in this world was worse than the slums in her world. Thus, a wound getting infected would not be a surprise.
Instead of waiting for the wound to fester due to the dried-up and old blood mixing with new, she might as well use these hides.

She turned and looked at the entrance of the cave and frowned. "What is going on?"
"It’s nothing." Ruan Zeqiu bit off the bone and chewed on it. "Shao Xia has gone mad these days. She often goes to hunt down big beasts, even if the strength of her team is not that great. No matter how her team mbers try to dissuade her, she just doesn’t listen to a thing." Ruan Zeqiu’s dislike for Shao Xia had reached new levels. He didn’t like her to begin with, but now he despises her even more. That woman was simply chaotic and ruthless. For the sake of rising higher, she was willing to go to any length.
This was sothing that Ruan Zeqiu could never accept. Especially the lack of disregard for lives that Shao Xia showed.
Clearly, the woman had sothing ssed up in her brain. Because the way she casually stated that the lives of warriors being lost during the hunt was sothing normal and not a thing to be surprised about, Ruan Zeqiu knew that there had to be sothing unhinged about that woman.
When Ruan Chanchan heard his response, she frowned but didn’t say anything.
Anyways, no one forced those won and rs to follow Shao Xia; they did it out of their own greed. Anyway, n propose and god disposes. What else could she say about the current situation other than that?
She finished sterilising the hides of the boar that she had collected and put them aside on a clean leaf that she had washed with water.
Ruan Chanchan then took a look at the Moon Nuts. She had collected them after the system told her that these nuts could be eaten, but she had yet to try them. Feeling a bit hungry (obviously with a warrior-kind brother next to her, she could never get to eat her fill), she threw a few moon nuts into the flas. As soon as she hurled them into the flas, the fire turned a greenish blue. For a second, Ruan Chanchan thought that she might have made a mistake by throwing these nuts in the fire and cooking them in the sa manner as the chestnuts in her world.
But soon her worries flew off when she slt the milky scent of rice cakes starting to waft all over the cave. The scent was so tempting that even Ruan Zeqiu, who usually didn’t pay attention to anything sweet, turned and looked in the direction of the flas.
"Sister, what is it?" He walked over and looked at the nuts that were crackling in the flas and sniffed the tantalising scent. "What is this? I have never seen them before."
"I call them moon nuts." Using a stick, Ruan Chanchan took out the nuts that had been roasted and handed them to Ruan Zeqiu. The shells were already cracked and didn’t need to be peeled. She said to Ruan Zeqiu, "Don’t eat those nuts just yet; they are still hot—"
She hadn’t even finished speaking when the r popped one nut in his mouth and chewed on it without listening to what Ruan Chanchan had said to him. Two bites later, his eyes lit up, and he said to his sister, "This tastes really good!"
After he finished speaking, he started to eat the nuts even more quickly. Seeing the actions of her brother, Ruan Chanchan simply shook her head. She didn’t say anything and picked up a nut. First, she wiped the soot off the nut and then blew over it. Only then did she take a bite of the nut and feel satisfied. This nut tasted a little like rice cake with sweet stuffing like that of caral.
It was indeed much better than the flaming fruit that she had eaten.
