When Xie Daiyu heard Ruan Chanchan’s request, he pursed his lips in a thin line. Though her request was not too difficult, Xie Daiyu felt a bit torn. For years, he had been wondering whether the Beast Goddess was angry with their tribe or if they had done sothing to make her upset with them.
He was not the only one who was worried about this question; his tribe mbers were just as concerned regarding this matter. After all, their tribe had been in trouble for years now.
But now that he knew that the Beast Goddess was not angry with their tribe and had even blessed Ruan Chanchan, he was asked to keep this a secret. Sigh, this – this was too much.
When Ruan Chanchan saw that the r was not speaking, she panicked. She was worried that this r would actually go ahead and announce that she had so really good skills, and her life would fall into danger. Thus, she imdiately said to him,
"Brother Xie, I will be honest with you. If you tell the truth about my abilities, then—then I will lose all of my powers, and I will return to my old self." The more she spoke, the smoother her lies beca. Ruan Chanchan then went ahead and remarked, "Even though I was blessed by the Beast Goddess, the blessing is not complete."
"What do you an by the blessing is not complete?" Xie Daiyu asked with a confused voice.
When Ruan Chanchan saw that he was willing to listen to her, she heaved a sigh of relief and then made up an excuse: "Did you not see in the afternoon? I wasn’t pretending to be an idiot; it’s just that I am still getting better and haven’t recovered completely. If you tell the truth to others, then the Beast Goddess will get angry at because I was supposed to hide my powers and do good deeds in silence."
"But I failed. However, the Beast Goddess is kind and is willing to forgive . This is why I cannot relay this matter to others until she tells that I can."
Ruan Chanchan finished speaking in one breath. She looked at Xie Daiyu’s expression and added swiftly, "And if this matter is known to others, maybe soone would try to take away from the tribe."
"They dare!" Xie Daiyu raised his voice suddenly, causing Ruan Chanchan to flinch. She was once again left to mourn over the lack of a beast core, but realized that this was neither ti nor space. She sighed and said to Xie Daiyu, "Why wouldn’t they? Don’t forget, Brother Daiyu, my special power can help the tribe get better and better."
By now, Xie Daiyu was convinced by Ruan Chanchan.
He sighed heavily before nodding. "Alright, I will keep this matter a secret for you."
Hearing this, Ruan Chanchan heaved a sigh of relief. As long as he was willing to keep quiet, everything could be worked out.
Ruan Chanchan raised her head and looked at Xie Daiyu. This ti around, the r was much prettier than he was before. Since he was willing to keep her secret, Ruan Chanchan was not going to treat him badly.
She asked with a smile, "Did you bring here because you want to eat instant noodles?"
When Xie Daiyu heard her question, he rubbed the back of his neck and nodded. He indeed wanted to eat the al that he had last night. Xie Daiyu had no idea what kind of delicacy Ruan Chanchan had cooked, but he couldn’t just forget the taste!
He tossed and turned for the entire night and, in the end, did sothing bold, such as kidnapping Ruan Chanchan. Though Xie Daiyu knew that if he was seen, he would have a hard ti explaining things; he just couldn’t help it. The taste of cooked at was better than that of raw at, and he truly wanted to taste a cooked fish.
Ruan Chanchan didn’t say anything when she saw the r nod. As long as the request was not too big, she didn’t mind helping Xie Daiyu a little. What was more, if she cooked for Xie Daiyu, she would be able to eat as well.
Once Ruan Chanchan was done thinking things through, she sat down on the ground and started working. She sent Xie Daiyu to get so dry wood and started a fire once the r had piled the dried sticks. Using the pot that Xie Daiyu had brought with him, she first cleaned the fish that he wanted to eat and cleaned it up.
Fortunately, she had Xiao Xi and knew how to clean this fish even though it was bigger and had many jagged teeth that were sharp enough to slice her arm.
The little system puffed his face and said arrogantly, "I told you that Xiao Xi is a really good system, darling. As long as you listen to Xiao Xi, I can help you turn the destiny of this world around."
Hearing his bold words that were spoken in a childish voice, Ruan Chanchan didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. She looked at the little system and then turned to look at the trees that were bigger than the buildings where she used to live and shook her head with a sigh.
Forget it; since he believed it, let him believe it!
Ruan Chanchan cooked the fish and used it to make fish soup. She also cooked the instant noodles in the slightly murky soup and took a few bites. Though she didn’t quite like the taste of the noodles and the soup, Xie Daiyu was more than satisfied.
Unlike Ruan Chanchan, who only took a few bites to fill her stomach, he finished the whole bowl and asked for more. Seeing this, Ruan Chanchan simply pushed the big stone bowl towards him and threw the reusable bowl into her space to clean.
"This is really good!" Xie Daiyu praised as he finished eating. He placed the bowl down and looked at Ruan Chanchan, his gaze softening. Though this woman had so problems, she was better than the won of his tribe!
