Ruan Chanchan was stunned by the actions of the r. She tried to push him away from her, but when he remained seated on top of her, she frowned hard and said, "Is this so kind of new tornt that you have co up with?" She couldn’t understand why the r had pushed her down and was now sitting on top of her.
"It’s you..." Yuan Ni stared at the red snake-like mark on Ruan Chanchan’s neck and slowly turned to look at the woman in the eyes. The woman who saved him was none other than Ruan Chanchan? How could that be? When he woke up, he saw Shao Xia lying next to him. How co suddenly the person who saved him turned out to be Ruan Chanchan? The sa woman whom he had tried to hurt.
Yuan Ni didn’t know what to feet at that mont. His heart was thudding violently in his chest as he continued to stare at the frowning woman. He wanted to deny—refuse the very truth that was in front of him, but he knew that there was no point in denying it anymore. After all, even though he didn’t rember a lot of things from that ti, there was one thing that he rembered very well. The unique snake birthmark at the back of the neck of the woman who had saved him.
It was such a unique thing that he could never forget.
How could he —how could he not pay attention to the very thing that he rembered? Why did he trust Shao Xia without clearing things up? Now he had lost both the army and beauty. Ruan Chanchan would never accept him now. Not only had he slept with the very woman who hated her, but he also helped the very woman who hard Ruan Chanchan and wanted to even kill her. Back then, when he believed that Shao Xia was his saviour, he didn’t feel that there was anything wrong with it.
But now, when he thought about how he could have lost her, Yuan Ni broke out in a cold sweat.
Ruan Chanchan had no idea what the r was thinking. She pushed him off her body and then sat up straight. Looking at the r who was staring at the ground with a troubled, scared and regretful look on his face, Ruan Chanchan didn’t understand what he was even trying to do. Clearly, he had a very good life as the only grandson of the priestess of the tribe. He was given at and fruit to eat every day. He didn’t even have to hunt because of his status as the priestess’s grandson. Even if he didn’t beco a totem warrior, he could easily live a good life by becoming the next priest of the tribe, as the magical abilities of the priestess or the priest usually returned in their family after skipping a generation.
At least that was what she had heard from others.
Thus, this r needed to just work hard and learn from his grandmother. But he didn’t do that and only knew how to chase after Shao Xia. Just what in the world was he even thinking?
The more she thought, the angrier Ruan Chanchan beca. In the end, she couldn’t help it anymore and slapped the r at the back of his head.
Yuan Ni was still reeling from the fact that he had been admiring the wrong person all these years when soone smacked him on the back of his head. She snapped his head up and saw Ruan Chanchan glaring at him.
"What? Why did you hit ?" His tone was both fierce and guilty. He didn’t know how to treat Ruan Chanchan. He had almost killed her, even when she saved his life. Twice. But he was used to treating her harshly; over the years, he had never respected Ruan Chanchan, who was an idiot. So how could he suddenly change his temperant when dealing with Ruan Chanchan? His tone was still a bit hard on her.
After he finished speaking, he felt even more guilty. Clearly, she helped him and saved him in the past, and yet he was treating her in such a manner. However, Yuan Ni also knew that it would take so ti for him to change how he treated Ruan Chanchan, and it wouldn’t happen in just a few days.
Ruan Chanchan had no idea what the r was thinking. She glared right back at him and questioned, "Are you an idiot? Why would you try to die twice in a row? Are you really that eager to die? Then go back to the territory. Your grandmother is still waiting for you at the territory. You can let her beat you to death. Anyway, you want to die, don’t you? Then it doesn’t matter how you die."
Yuan Ni shuddered when he heard Ruan Chanchan’s vicious words, but then he thought about how he had caused her a lot of trouble. He lowered his head and sucked in a breath before saying to her, "I don’t want to die."
"Then what were you doing? Don’t tell that you went to the river to swim in the middle of the night," said Ruan Chanchan sarcastically. This r was very lucky that he was not related to her, or else she would have beaten him harder than his grandmother. At least his grandmother held back, but she wouldn’t. She got to her feet, determined to go back, but before she could turn around and leave, she turned to look at the r and narrowed her eyes. She said to him, "You’d better not think about killing yourself again." If this brat died, then she would be the one who would be blad for it.
"I told you I was not trying to die!" Yuan Ni’s face flushed red, and he exclaid angrily. But when he saw Ruan Chanchan arch a brow, he lowered his head and whimpered softly, "I was pushed in the river by Shao Xia...she was the one who pushed into the river."
