"I asked the chief to let follow you. I told her that since I did sothing wrong, I need to apologise and make it up to you," said Yuan Ni with a smile as if he had no other intentions but Ruan Chanchan, who had been almost killed by this r more than two tis, didn’t trust him. She narrowed her eyes and said to him, "Are you planning sothing again?"
She wondered what the chief was thinking by letting this r follow her when he had tried to harm her. Her brother was also not happy with it, which was why he asked Ye Qian Qian to follow her. Though Ruan Chanchan didn’t want to be followed by anyone, she knew that the chief wouldn’t allow her to leave the tribe if she didn’t allow her to arrange bodyguards for her. So, she had no other choice but to agree to these two people following her. Even though she didn’t think she needed soone to protect her all the ti, she had no say in this decision.
Even her brother agreed that she needed to be followed and was going to do it himself, but the r needed to hunt or else he would not get at to eat, so Ruan Chanchan asked him to continue with his hunting.
Ruan Chanchan pursed her lips and said to her two bodyguards, "I am going to lead the scouts up above the mountains to collect the bamboo and bamboo shoots. You can co with if you want to."
Both Ye Qian Qian and Yuan Ni had heard about the bamboo shoots from the chief earlier in the morning and couldn’t help but turn curious when they heard Ruan Chanchan say that she was going to lead the scouts up the mountains.
Ye Qian Qian asked, "Can we dry them like mushrooms?"
"Yes," Ruan Chanchan nodded. "You can sun-dry them, and then you can cook them as you want, as long as you steam them."
While walking down the terrain, Yuan Ni couldn’t help but praise Ruan Chanchan. "You really know a lot, Sister Ruan. How do you know so much? No one in the tribe knows how to store food as you do."

"Ruan Chanchan, do you know any other food that we can store in the winter other than the bamboo shoots and mushrooms? " Yuan Ni asked curiously.
"There are many things that could be stored for the winter, but we need to find them before we can even think about drying and storing them." Ruan Chanchan knew very well that at the mont that they still needed to work hard before their tribe could rise higher. "Anyway, all of these things will require a lot of salt. And the salt—"
It was either she had to take it out from her supermarket space or buy it from the trade market.

Yuan Ni felt happy when he saw that Ruan Chanchan was replying to him without holding back. Well, at least she was willing to talk with him. As long as Ruan Chanchan was willing to let him stay next to her sooner or later, like the frog boiling in the hot water, he was going to make Ruan Chanchan forgive him. Then the two of them stay close with one another as friends or maybe sothing more.
Just the thought alone was enough to make Yuan Ni smile like a fool.
Ye Qian Qian looked at the r who was foolishly laughing and shook her head. She wondered what the r was even thinking that he was laughing this hard.
She then turned to look at Ruan Chanchan and said to her, "Are you going to the mountains to guide the scouts? If so, then you can simply relay the information to the leader, and then they can bring the bamboo shoots back for you." Ye Qian Qian didn’t see any reason for Ruan Chanchan to follow the scouts to the mountains.
"Because the beast goddess has given a lot of information, and I just cannot stay put. There are countless things in the mountains that we can use and stock up on. At least she was not like Shao Xia. Who would blindly show off just after killing one beast that was bigger than the rest of the hunt?
Ye Qian Qian didn’t think much. She simply nodded after hearing Ruan Chanchan’s response. "Okay, Ruan Chanchan, I will take you to the nearby mountains, but you’d better stay close to us. We don’t know if the death hunter has left or is still hiding sowhere close to our tribe. If they attack you when we are not close or near you, then it will be really problematic."
Ye Qian Qian was worried that Ruan Chanchan would run around after arriving at the mountains, and that would cause a lot of trouble for her and Yuan Ni. While Yuan Ni did deserve it, she didn’t.
There were also wild animals. What if Ruan Chanchan ran into one? How was she going to save her if Ruan Chanchan tried to run around?
"Alright," Ruan Chanchan had no plans of running around; she nodded and agreed with what Ye Qian Qian said. With these two with her, she would have more chances of exploring more places.
Looking at Ruan Chanchan’s expression, Yuan Ni felt his heart thumping. He lowered his head and tried to calm down his thumping heart and heated cheeks. There was a subtle feeling that kept telling Yuan Ni that he needed to stay close to Ruan Chanchan. Everything about her from her beautiful face to her subtle sweet scent made his heart thud against his ribs as if it was about to jump out from his throat.
