"Here you go, Miss Ruan."
A young r around the age of twelve walked over to Ruan Chanchan and offered her the ointnt that he had made from the herbs found near the sea. He said to her, "Though this ointnt is not going to heal you magically, it can stop your bleeding for the ti being."
Ruan Chanchan pursed her lips and took the ointnt from the young r. She nodded and thanked the r, "Thank you."
With Xiao Xi gone, Ruan Chanchan didn’t have the ans to treat her injuries. She could only sigh and apply the ointnt to her wounds.
The young r peeked at Ruan Chanchan when he saw that the woman wasn’t looking at him. Sensing that soone was looking at her, Ruan Chanchan raised her head and looked in the direction of the young r. "Is sothing the matter?" She asked in a low voice when she saw that the r was looking at her through his eyes covered with bangs.
The r lowered his head once again. However, after a short pause, he asked, "Can you help our tribe? The prince said that you help our tribe in surviving winter?" After he finished speaking, he turned silent and then turned to look at Ruan Chanchan once again.
Earlier, when the prince brought this woman to the palace, he told everyone that this woman could help their tribe in surviving the extre winter. They lived near the shores, and the weather here was extrely cold, even if they were totem warriors linked with water. Only when they were in their beast form were they able to withstand the chill from the winter winds, but when they were in their human forms, they were just like any other totem warrior and felt cold.
Because the winter near their tribe was more terrifying than any other tribe, the death rate was also high, and the chances of scouts, the old, the sickly and the crippled surviving were close to zero. Usually, these people would either starve to death or end up freezing. The young r was worried about this matter because his old grandma had lost her ability to hunt ages ago, and while she sohow managed to survive last ti, the young r was worried that his grandmother wouldn’t be able to survive this ti around.
If this woman could help their tribe, then he would be really grateful to her.
"You don’t have to worry about it; since your prince has saved my life, I will naturally help you and your tribe." Ruan Chanchan was not an ungrateful person. She knew that the reason she was able to survive this ti around was because of Rong Xian. The r had saved her life; of course, she would naturally repay his life-saving grace.
The young r’s eyes lit up, but soon they turned mute. He didn’t dare to trust Ruan Chanchan. How many tis have people from all over the place co to their tribe and said that they could save their tribe, but in the end, they all failed? He didn’t dare to expect too much from Ruan Chanchan lest he end up being disappointed.
Ruan Chanchan could see what was going on in the head of the r. After all, he was still young, and all of his thoughts were written on his face. She smiled and reached out to touch the r on the head. She said to him in a low voice, "You don’t have to think too much with your little head. Leave so matters to the adults as well."
The young r’s eyes turned red. She was an orphan, and the only one who cared about him was his grandmother. This was the first ti soone had told him not to worry about anything. Usually, everyone in the tribe would often make him realise that he was all alone and he needed to worry about not only his grandmother but also himself. Because he had not awakened any beast form yet.
The more they said such things, the more he felt like he was all alone in this world and had to take all the burden on his head. This was probably the first ti soone told him that it was okay for him to rely on the adults, which only made him feel even more touched.
"Thank you," he told Ruan Chanchan before taking his leave.
Ruan Chanchan watched the r leave and shook her head. She then turned her attention to Xiao Xi. The system had gone silent for a while now, and she wondered what was wrong with the little thing. Why was he suddenly giving her the silent treatnt? More than feeling resentful, Ruan Chanchan was feeling a bit worried. She knew that the reason she managed to get away with her life was that Xiao Xi put a protective shield between her and Hei Ya, or else she was sure that she would have certainly died in the hands of that r.
"Xiao Xi?" she called to the little system. However, the system never responded. Ruan Chanchan’s eyes dimd when she saw that the system was not responding. She wondered what happened to him. Was he in so grave danger? She hoped that Xiao Xi wouldn’t malfunction because of the risk that she took.
After she finished worrying about Xiao Xi, she started to worry about Xie Daiyu. She hoped that the r was not worrying too much about her.
"It seems like Miss Ruan has a lot of worries," a voice spoke to her.
Ruan Chanchan raised her head and looked in the direction of the r who was standing at the threshold of the small cave. He was looking at her with a smile on his face, and this was the first ti Ruan Chanchan had seen Rong Xian smiling like this. She pursed her lips and offered the r a smile in return. "Of course not, your highness. I was just lost in thought." A pause and then, "What brought you here? Is there sothing that you want from ?"
