The explosion of flavours made Master Luo close his eyes as he relished the flavours that were flooding in his mouth. When he opened his eyes, it was as if a new world had opened to him. He looked down at the thin slices of sashimi and did not know what to say. Because this was the first ti he had ever tasted sothing this good.
"I never thought that slicing the fish at so thin could taste so good," he remarked with his eyes sparkling as he reached to take another bite of the slice.
"That’s because it’s thin enough to soak the flavours," explained Ruan Chanchan as she set down the rest of the sauces for the sashimi that was ant for the elders. She then turned to look at the fish stew that was almost done preparing and scooped the foam for the last ti before saying to the children, "Alright, line up everyone. It is ti for dinner."
The children at once lined up just as Ruan Chanchan asked them to. They didn’t fight with each other and even lined up properly. With their bowls in their hands, they looked at Ruan Chanchan with a hint of anticipation, as they knew that the fish stew that she prepared was really good.
"Oh, it seems like things are going quite well," remarked a new voice, and everyone surrounding Ruan Chanchan knelt almost imdiately. Upon seeing the sudden change in the atmosphere, Ruan Chanchan wanted to kneel as well, but before she could even bend her knees, the woman standing in front of her raised her hand and waved it slightly. "Alright, you all, there is no need for formalities." She then turned to look at Ruan Chanchan and smiled at her, "And the guest of the mont. It is an absolute honour to have you with us."
Ruan Chanchan bowed her head and politely said to the queen, "No, it is my honour, your majesty." She did not know what to say when the woman appeared out of nowhere. But given the position of Queen Rong, Ruan Chanchan knew that she could not be casual with her.
Queen Rong smiled at Ruan Chanchan before turning her attention to the fish stew and the sashimi that Ruan Chanchan had prepared. Her curiosity got the best of her as she raised a brow and picked up the thin slice of fish at. "This is sashimi, right?"
As the highest-ranking totem warrior, her hearing senses were really sharp. Even when she was quite far, she heard everything that they were talking about.
"Yes, your majesty." Ruan Chanchan felt a bit nervous when she saw the woman picking up the sashimi. She was not scared of Master Luo trying it, as she was quite used to talking with Master Luo, but when it ca to Queen Rong, Ruan Chanchan couldn’t help but beco nervous just thinking about soone like her trying her cooking.
Queen Rong looked at Ruan Chanchan and then at the sashimi before dipping it in the sauce and taking a bite of it.
"YOUR MAJESTY!"
Master Luo and the rest could not help but shriek in shock when they saw their queen eating sothing without letting her aide taste it.
"It’s fine." Queen Rong licked the sauce off her fingers and then turned to look at Ruan Chanchan. "These sauces, are they so sort of speciality of the big bear tribe?"
"Ah? Yes!" Ruan Chanchan’s mind started to work at a rapid speed, and she imdiately agreed. "These are indeed our tribe’s speciality. Do you want them?"
If the Killer Whale Tribe were to start buying these sauces, then the alliance that she was hoping for would not be too far!
"We shall talk about these sauces later on." Queen Rong was indeed intrigued by the sauces, but she knew the possibility of saying the wrong thing at the wrong ti. She turned her attention to Ruan Chanchan and said to her, "Let have a taste of the fish stew first."
"Sure!"
Ruan Chanchan regained her confidence once she saw that the sashimi was welcod warmly; she swiftly ladled so stew for the queen before handing the bowl to her.
Queen Rong took the fish stew and took a bite. The spicy and tangy stew was indeed sothing that she liked more than the raw fish, but it was as if sothing was missing, which made her frown quite hard. Ruan Chanchan saw the frown on the face of the queen and understood what was going on. She imdiately whipped the alcohol from the supermarket and handed it to the queen. "This is sothing that is usually drunk together with the fish stew and the sashimi. I hope that you will find it to your liking."
Queen Rong took one long look at the can of beer that Ruan Chanchan was holding before taking it from her and downing a swig. The refreshing taste accompanied by the sweet fruity aroma made her eyes wide with delight; she dropped her hand and gave the can a long, hard look before saying to Ruan Chanchan, "What is this? Forget about the sauces. This is worth more than an alliance; I have never tasted it."
Ruan Chanchan’s eyes flickered with a hint of triumph. "This is sothing that we made in our free ti. If her majesty likes it, then I will ask Leader Xie to arrange for more."
Though the queen knew that Ruan Chanchan was actually lying about the big bear tribe having such a good thing, she still went along with her because ultimately, Ruan Chanchan was the one who could get her hands on these weird things.
"Alright." Queen Rong sighed as she finally took a step back and said to Ruan Chanchan, "You can co to my cave tomorrow; we will have further discussion about these supplies, but for now." She raised her head and looked in the direction of the forest. "I believe it is ti for you to start working on the heating system."
