Kaho, as usual, walked with shaky steps, her shoulders curled inward like a frightened animal. Every few steps, her head darted from side to side, scanning her surroundings to make sure she wouldn’t bump into anyone.

Even while crossing the overcrowded high school hallway, she managed to avoid everyone without saying a single word. Whenever a group ford a wall in her path, she would quietly slip around them, never uttering a sound.

And just like a ghost, she reached the cafeteria.

She normally preferred to stay in the library until later, waiting until most people had already eaten so she could avoid the crowd. But today, she had been too embarrassed to remain there with Shin.

She carefully scanned the place, but just as she took a step forward, she was suddenly ambushed by a hug.

For an instant, her entire body tensed at the unexpected contact. Her breath caught as she froze, startled by the unfamiliar touch.

Then a soft, expensive perfu reached her nose.

She imdiately recognized it. Eva.

"How is it that you always ambush ?" Kaho asked, almost impressed.

"I just know you well," Eva gave a vague answer. "More importantly, I heard you just bumped into my king."

"Y-Yeah..." Kaho lowered her gaze, her face burning. "He... already told about you."

"Yes, he sent a quick ssage," Eva replied smoothly. "He also ntioned that bitch, Kassandra."

Her voice dropped, turning cold. The shift was so sharp that even the people nearby instinctively stepped away. There was sothing in her gaze that made the air feel heavier.

Kaho felt her body tremble. If Eva ever spoke to her like that, if that coldness were ever directed at her, she was certain she wouldn’t even be able to breathe under that stare. She would suffocate right there in front of Eva out of pure fear, like an opossum.

"You should have told she was making you work like a library assistant," Eva continued. "If you had, I would’ve made her pay for it."

Kaho quickly waved her hands, growing nervous. "Y-You don’t need to do that... I’d feel bad if sothing happened to her because of ."

Eva raised an eyebrow. "But she was treating you terribly, wasn’t she?" she asked, her tone softening slightly. "You don’t have to put up with people’s nonsense all the ti."

"It’s just that..." Kaho murmured. "Next ti, I’ll talk to you. I promise."

"Or you could just ask Shin for help," Eva added with a smug smile.

That was enough.

Kaho’s face turned bright red. "I... I didn’t! It’s not like that!"

Eva’s smile widened instantly, her eyes lighting up with amusent. She still hadn’t decided if she wanted Kaho in the harem or not. She would rather not have any more girls. But Kaho was so cute she couldn’t resist provoking her.

"Oh? Then why did you run away from him?"

"I didn’t run away!" Kaho protested, flustered. "I was just... embarrassed!"

Eva tilted her head, clearly unconvinced. "Embarrassed?" she repeated. "Kaho... you’re always shy, but you don’t usually run from people like that."

Kaho froze.

"I-It’s not like that..." she tried again, her voice much weaker this ti.

Eva leaned in slightly, her smile turning sharper. "Then what is it like? Don’t even try hiding anything; you know you can’t fool ."

Kaho looked away, her fingers fidgeting nervously. "I... I just..."

Eva said nothing this ti. She just kept looking at her. Kaho was weak against stares, so Eva’s eyes alone were enough to make her do whatever Eva wanted.

As expected, Kaho held her gaze for barely three seconds before looking down.

"Okay, sothing did happen..." she said. "I will tell you everything..."

Eva’s expression softened into a satisfied smile. "Good."

"But first..." Kaho hesitated, her stomach quietly reminding her of its existence. "I want to buy sothing to eat."

Eva let out a small laugh. "You don’t need to. I’ll get it for you."

Without waiting for an answer, she turned and started walking toward the cafeteria store.

Almost instantly, people began to move aside.

It wasn’t even sothing she demanded; it just happened. As if by instinct, the crowd opened a path for her.

There was still plenty of bad gossip surrounding her, whispers that followed her wherever she went. But even so, she was treated, more or less, like a queen. No one wanted to be on her bad side.

And more than that, her very presence commanded attention. Eva drew every gaze in the room without effort.

She was the complete opposite of Kaho, who went unnoticed as she quietly tried to move forward. Where Kaho slipped through spaces unseen, Eva didn’t need to; everyone in the room noticed where she was going and simply made space for her.

Walking behind her, Kaho didn’t have to worry about bumping into anyone.

And it wasn’t just that.

Eva was like a bright sun, so radiant that Kaho could easily hide in her shadow.

At first, the attention had overwheld her. She had felt the weight of so many eyes in her direction.

But then she realized... They weren’t looking at her. They were all looking at Eva. And with that realization, the tension slowly lted away.

For the first ti since entering the cafeteria, Kaho felt completely at ease. Walking just behind Eva was the most comfortable place in the world.

Well... almost.

The only thing that could beat it was a mory from years ago, during a family trip, when she ended up in a hotel room located in a separate building from the rest of her family.

A place where she could close the door, turn off the lights, and sink into complete darkness. And the best of all, she was sure her family was far away.

"What stupid things are you thinking about?" Eva turned around, seeing the shift in her friend’s mood.

"Do you have eyes on the back of your head or sothing?" Kaho asked, surprised.

"Maybe I do..." Eva replied with a smug smile.

She turned back just in ti to notice the line had moved forward; it was her turn to order.

Without hesitation, she asked for the food. She already knew Kaho’s favorites. After all, she often took the initiative to order for herself.

It had started when Eva realized just how shy Kaho was. She would only order when a specific clerk was working, soone she was already familiar with. So days, she would go the entire morning and afternoon at school without eating anything because of it.

"You don’t need to pay . It’s a treat," Eva said with a sigh, noticing Kaho already reaching for her wallet. "Now... tell the story you promised."

Kaho hesitated.

Then, slowly, she began to explain.

At first, her voice was quiet and uncertain, her eyes fixed firmly on the floor. And the more she told Eva, the more embarrassed she beca.

Eva was surprised to learn her friend was masturbating in the library like that. And Kaho wanted to die of embarrassnt.

But to Kaho’s surprise, the queen’s reaction to the story was a simple smile and a faint laugh.

"I see..." Eva said, clearly amused. "So that’s why you ran away... but I wonder why he didn’t tell any of that..." She pouted cutely, a hint of annoyance showing on her face.

"Well..." Kaho didn’t know what to say.

"Besides, let make a guess. The books he asked for... they were about computer stuff, right?" Eva asked, her eyes gleaming with quiet confidence.

Kaho hesitated, finding it a little strange, but she still answered honestly. "S-So of them... There were physics books too, but... yeah, a few were about computer science. He took a lot of books, but I don’t rember all of them."

Eva’s smile sharpened slightly.

"I see, just as I expected..."

Kaho felt a chill run down her spine.

"Well then," Eva continued lightly, her expression becoming happy and smug again. "I think I understand the reason why you ran away from him."

Kaho blinked. "You are not angry... are you?"

"Not at all," Eva smiled. "It’s not your fault and..." she hesitated a second before speaking. "If you ever want to seduce him, you can count on ," she winked.

Kaho blinked in surprise again.

"Anyway, don’t worry, I will solve this problem for you, so you don’t need to feel embarrassed again."

Before Kaho could react, Eva pulled out her phone.

"I already called him, by the way. He should be here any second."

Kaho froze.

"...W-What?"

Her body reacted before her mind could; she instinctively took a small step back, ready to flee.

But Eva simply turned to her and smiled.

"You can’t run this ti."

Kaho stiffened completely.

A few monts later, a familiar presence approached.

Shin.

He slowed down as he reached them, quickly noticing Eva’s expression. She wasn’t truly angry; she never directed that kind of emotion at her "king."

But she was pouting cutely. She was very, very obviously annoyed.
