Shin stared at the screen for a mont before looking back at the golden pistol in his hand.
Shin frowned at the description. After all, it was an item he had never seen before. Besides...
"Wasn’t the reward supposed to be the Collar of Submission?" Shin asked.
"Yes!" Lilel shouted excitedly into the air. "But I managed to change the reward. That item isn’t very useful anyway."
"True..." Shin murmured.
Several possible futures flashed through his mind, and in none of them could he picture himself actually using that collar.
The na suggested a powerful artifact, and, to be fair, its effect sounded impressive.
If the collar was successfully placed on soone, it would force them into complete submission.
However, the item was only Epic tier. That alone ant its effect could easily be nullified by anyone wearing a higher-tier protection item.
On top of that, actually placing the collar on soone was extrely difficult. Shin would most likely have to defeat the target first before even having the chance to use it.
But the biggest problem was how easily the effect could be broken. Another person could simply damage the collar to free the victim. Alternatively, the controlled person could break free through sheer force of will.
In other words, it wasn’t a very practical item.
"So you can choose what my reward will be?" Shin asked, suddenly interested.
"More or less," Lilel replied proudly. "I managed to do sothing incredible... just not that incredible."
Excitedly, she began explaining how the system’s reward calculations worked.
Shin tried to pay attention, but after ten minutes of explanation, he was completely lost. There was simply too much information.
In short, once the system determined that a reward would be an item of a specific rarity, Lilel could interfere with the selection process.

"So I could have received any Epic item?" Shin asked, glancing down at the golden pistol again.

Amid the long explanation Shin had barely understood, Lilel had revealed sothing important: she now had the ability to interfere with his system.
For now, her influence was limited. She could only do it with Shin, and even then, only in very specific situations.
But the number of possibilities it opened was enormous.
Realizing that, Shin’s eyes lit up.

"I can’t do anything more than that for now, but I will keep getting better at it. And, for now, you should train to learn how to use this pistol. And one more thing, you need to train in the gym to get more muscles."

Shin chuckled. "Fair enough."
Yumi watched them go, then sank into a chair with a contented sigh. On the way to the gym, Eva told Shin about her plans, and he gave her a green light.
