The doctor issued his diagnosis to the patient.
"You lack a goal, one that gives you a reason to live."
"That's not possible, my goal has always been unwavering."
Demons, eradicate all demons, Lorenzo never wavered.
"Can such a thing truly be considered a goal? Lorenzo, I'm afraid you'd easily discard your identity as a human for it, wouldn't you?"
Selyu murmured.
"Choosing the lesser evil."
Compared to that grand goal, re humanity is insignificant.
Both remained silent, ultimately parting on a sour note.
Despite Selyu's seemingly closed nature, she opened her heart, while Lorenzo, light-hearted yet sowhat neurotic, was genuinely reclusive.
Like using so absurd notion of fate to absolve himself, Lorenzo cared nothing for such things in his pursuit of demon eradication.
Suddenly the doorbell rang, segueing into the next chapter of this unpleasant conversation.
"Get ready, Lorenzo, the guest is here."
Without seeing who it was, Selyu made the conclusion and headed out to greet the guest.
Lorenzo sat upright and tidied his clothes to appear less disheveled.
According to Selyu, she'd recomnded him to this guest, with a generous reward.
Before long, Selyu returned with Yawei, the old butler, carrying a pile of letters and books, placing them steadily on the low table beside Lorenzo, then standing guard nearby, expression stern.
"Where's the guest?"
Lorenzo asked with so confusion, but before he could inquire further, Selyu sat across from him, the two together again.
Looking at the familiar girl, Lorenzo seed to realize who the guest was.
"I'll represent this commission for discussion with you."
Selyu said, opening the letters, while Lorenzo asked curiously.
"Whom do you represent?"
"The Stuart group."
Selyu answered softly.
"Lorenzo, your mission is serious this ti."
Selyu handed Lorenzo the opened letters, they were sent collectively by mbers of the Stuart group, reporting the sa matter.
"Hounds?"
Lorenzo looked at the letter's description; at night, all mbers associated with Stuart witnessed eerie hounds, emitting hoarse howls, circling everyone's ho.
"Initially, we thought it was an illusion, but it's impossible for everyone to have the sa illusion, right?"
Selyu said.
"Moreover, the mbers are spread throughout Ingwig."
"When did this phenonon occur?"
Lorenzo frowned and asked.
"Not sure."
Selyu found more letters, feedback from the mbers.
"We were initially confused, not knowing where to start investigating, until I discovered demons..."
"Do you think this is related to demons?"
Lorenzo beca alert, to which Selyu nodded.
"You taught this: eliminate all impossibilities, and whatever remains, no matter how bizarre, is the answer."
Simple words to fend off boredom during the journey, yet Selyu rembered them even now.
"Do you have any leads?"
Lorenzo showed so interest, like a beast scenting blood, he would pursue the demons relentlessly.
Selyu didn't answer but glanced at Yawei, who hesitated before handing Lorenzo an ancient book.
"Are you aware of the curse that looms over Stuart?"
"Curse?"
Lorenzo found it odd. Normally, any scandal concerning such a prominent family would be blown out of proportion, let alone a peculiar curse, but during his ti in Old Dunling, he had never heard of this.
"My family has served the Stuart family for many years, so long that our family could be considered living history of Stuart, thus I know many secrets unknown to the outside world."
Yawei said slowly.
"It's a curse from Baskerville."
