Lorenzo continued speaking, the echo lingering over that Pseudo-God.
From this perspective, it indeed seems so; the Demon Hunters are superior humans, possessing the authority to wield the extraordinary.
"I just like it, just as so people covet money, others covet power, so covet won; everyone has sothing to live for, right?"
The Demon Hunter’s offensive suddenly changed, the swordsmanship was no longer the style of Bolognese Swordsmanship, but had transford into sothing else. Lorenzo realized sothing was wrong, he had been lulled by the Demon Hunter. Imdiately, the blade thrust from a tricky angle. Lorenzo tried his best to evade, but still got grazed.
"We’re all strange creatures, I can see that, Lorenzo Hols; it’s a feeling of kinship."
The Demon Hunter stopped the attack, raised the blade, and his gaze fell on the bright red.
"I know soone who loves to see others go mad, a strange hobby, right? But to him, that’s the most delightful thing... if he hadn’t gotten himself into so trouble, it should’ve been him here today."
"And you?"
"?"
The Demon Hunter paused for a mont, then slowly lifted the Nail Sword, the entire blade acting as a shield in front of him.
"I like the slaughter, or rather the victory after the slaughter. For this, I learned swordsmanship and joined the Holy Hall Knight Order. If I had not learned about the Secret Blood, I would have wanted to beco the Holy Hall Knight Commander, and one day, in the future, go on a crusade again."
"Isn’t any kind of victory inferior to the victory of a war?"
Lorenzo looked at the Demon Hunter with a complex expression; he didn’t have any profound insights, just felt there were more and more lunatics in this world.
"When I first saw you, I thought you were a more amiable person." Lorenzo said.
"Is that a complint?" the Demon Hunter said, "I think I’m quite handso."
"Maybe, Samuel."
Lorenzo looked at the Demon Hunter in front of him, finally retrieving his identity from his mories; although they had only t during that one conversation, Lorenzo rembered him, Fr. Anthony’s assistant.
Samuel was a bit surprised to hear his na, not expecting Lorenzo to still rember him, but at this mont, Lorenzo launched an attack as well.
This wasn’t a simple chat; even during the conversation, they were looking for the other’s weaknesses. A slight delay in reaction could lead to death, and when Lorenzo ntioned Samuel’s na, there was an evident fluctuation, very subtle, but Lorenzo seized the opportunity.
The Holy Grail’s flesh and blood mixed into this body, after rebirth, Lorenzo’s strength and physique were far more powerful than ordinary Demon Hunters, and he seed not to be aware of this yet.
Stepping forward, the Nail Sword swept overhead, raised high, then slashed down, the Stone-Breaking Power hamring onto the front of Samuel.
The blades intersected, but Samuel did not et Lorenzo’s strike head-on. The violent wind indicated Lorenzo’s great strength, and Samuel knew well he couldn’t contend with Lorenzo in sheer force, so he angled his blade, diverting the descending trajectory, then quickly raised his sword.
This is the skill of deviation, evading the attack while swiftly countering. Samuel’s blade began to accelerate, and when it intersected with Lorenzo’s, it was as swift as lightning.
Fencing between swordsn is often very brief; within highly tense nerves, as soon as one side relaxes slightly, reveals a flaw, the next strike is lethal.
Their sword duel seed to have just begun, but when Lorenzo swung his sword, it had actually ended; Samuel’s sword rcilessly hacked at Lorenzo’s neck.
His eyes bore slight disappointnt, as if he hadn’t expected Lorenzo to be just so, but then the clang of tal rang out.
The descending Nail Sword was blocked by sothing; tattered clothing was ripped open, revealing a thin layer of hard black beneath.
"Armor..."
Samuel made a mistake; Lorenzo activated the Authority from the beginning, but this ti the armor didn’t cover so obviously, intentionally hidden, waiting for him to take the bait.
And at this mont, a piercing whistle sounded; from the corner of his eye, Samuel saw the reversed blade coming with blinding white brilliance.
"Courage, strength, skill, and... deception."
Lorenzo whispered, the diverted blade accelerated instantly, slashing diagonally towards Samuel.
This was an action humans couldn’t achieve. After a full swing, Lorenzo had no way to retrieve the blade so quickly... unless the recent powerful strike wasn’t Lorenzo’s full strength?
Samuel’s heart turned cold; the ga had begun from the mont they exchanged glances. He now sowhat understood Fr. Anthony’s words, but then he also grew fierce.
Now Samuel could only mitigate the loss. Gripping the Nail Sword tightly, he forcefully struck at the area beneath the armor; Lorenzo’s strike might hit his abdon, perhaps causing him severe injuries, but for a Demon Hunter’s body, as long as it wasn’t a fatal wound, he could continue fighting.
Unlike Lorenzo, Samuel’s blade had already fallen on his neck; just continue to cut down, break through the armor’s protection. Samuel might not be able to sever Lorenzo’s head, but he could deal a fatal blow.
With a twisted smile, like a ga of rock-paper-scissors, would he ignore his attack and continue to pursue, or chose to defend and give up the attack this ti?
