His expression gradually twisted into a grimace. Watson could feel that there was a hint of madness in the will beneath that shell, like a prisoner who had been confined for too long, feeling fear upon seeing the vast sky.

"But, I will still choose to kill you, probably. The way you call us is quite fitting, Silencer, this na is very suitable for us, extrely suitable. All we want is to remain silent, to sleep eternally, yet you keep crossing the fence over and over again.

Can you feel that sensation? In a silent world, suddenly there is a discordant noise, sharp and piercing, echoing continuously in this empty eternal world, repeatedly tornting us sleepers until we can no longer bear it, thus driving us to awaken and eliminate the source of these noises."

The long years had turned Edren into sothing inhuman. Apart from his responsibilities, almost all that remained in his mind was eternal sleep.

In the next mont, an attack from Edren arrived.

Edren was an excellent Shepherd. He not only knew how to hunt the lambs, but he also knew how to herd them.

The reason for using the frail mortal body is because he clearly understands that physical combat is not the endpoint; the slaughter within the Gap is his main battlefield.

The attack was formless. Watson only felt the erosion coming at her, followed by nearly tearing pain in her skull, as if a heavy hamr was striking her mind, and countless sharp blades scraping her nerves.

In an instant, Watson's consciousness blurred due to the intense pain. She half-knelt on the ground, using the Bone Spike to prop herself up, preventing herself from collapsing completely, gasping intensely like a wounded beast.

It was an attack from the Gap. Edren tried to invade her Gap, but this ti he failed. Watson's will was fairly tenacious; this strike wasn't enough to make Watson submit. But what about next?

Can she withstand it once? Or twice, thrice?

Watson will die here.

Think, Watson, what should you do?

Next to here is Lorenzo's residence. Although the fight now has been brief, for a Demon Hunter, it's been quite long. Maybe Lorenzo has already noticed the erosion happening, waking up to find the Nail Sword to cut through.

Delay until Lorenzo cos? How is that possible? Lorenzo is also one of Edren's hunting targets, only it seems her priority is higher than his. With the strength of the two, it's impossible to know if they can confront Edren, let alone that even now, Watson hasn't tested Edren's full power.

Watson could already imagine that scene. In a few seconds, Lorenzo would arrive wielding the Nail Sword, and after a difficult battle, both would die in this dark alley.

This battle is unlike familiar ones before; the body is the barrier of the Gap. This is a fight destined to occur within the Gap, and neither of them has much experience in Gap combat, even though they once fought Lawrence. But Edren's understanding and manipulation of the Gap must far surpass Lawrence.

The ti left to make a decision is running out. Continuing this delay, Lorenzo will surely notice the erosion and co here...

Watson made a decision, and at this mont, Edren launched another attack, but this ti the attack missed.

The already altered young man's body went limp, as crimson eyes instantly exploded, his will completely shattered into chaos, and the flesh collapsed and disintegrated, but Watson hidden within had already vanished.

She fled.

Watson traversed the Gap to reach the next body, on her way to Ingwig. To speed up, she would erode a target at the limit distance, using their bodies as springboards for rapid movent; these springboards now beca Watson's escape route.

She was escaping, also leading Edren away from Lorenzo. Between them, one needed to survive.

Edren formulated a corresponding strategy. In such close combat, his erosion had long covered Watson's Gap. He didn't know how long this Beacon would last, but at least enough to catch up to Watson.

Closing his eyes, he sensed Watson's location. Then a massive erosion emanated from him as the origin, and a large Geiger Counter in Old Dunling detected this enormous erosion at that mont, though short-lived, it recorded it. In the fluctuation at that mont, Edren found his springboard.

The man walked to the balcony to enjoy the rare moonlit night. Just as he wanted to praise sothing, a subtle fla arose in his eyes for just a few seconds before extinguishing, and he didn't even react before his eyeballs exploded.

Blood surged from his mouth and nose, hanging limply on the railing, as the flesh beneath the skull beca a turbid ss, and behind him, his wife walked slowly over, eyes full of the sa blazing white.

Edren was a step too slow. Before he destroyed the man's Gap, Watson had already quickly left. These springboards were left by Watson before; she didn't need to erode again, but Edren did. This would significantly slow down his pursuit speed.

As before, the massive erosion explodes from Edren as the origin. He searches for Watson's trail, choosing the closest position to her springboard as a carrier for erosion.

Closing his eyes, Edren appeared dozens of kiloters away. He sensed the Beacon right in front and rushed over, only to see a dense crowd. It seed to be so gathering. The abundant crowd interfered with Edren's judgnt, but then the erosion burst.

Like a malevolent curse descending upon the crowd, the praying figures froze, then countless eyes exploded under this Gap attack, with blood continuously flowing out, people dying one after another.

Watson wasn't among them; she escaped again. Edren needed to find her position, so he was always a step behind Watson in this chase.

But he wasn't in a hurry. He had ti, and Watson's springboards would eventually run out. Then she, like him, would need to erode and plant a Beacon to traverse between carriers.

The erosion broke out again, searching for Watson's position.

This is an unobservable chase. Both moved extrely fast, and in the blink of an eye, they reached the edge of Ingwig. If Geiger Counters were set up where they passed, based on the feedback values, people would find that the erosion, like footprints, stepped on the map of Ingwig, heading towards the Holy Evangelical Pope Kingdom.

Watson gritted her teeth; the rapid Gap traversal left her exhausted. She couldn't relax or rest; if she slowed down even a step, Edren would catch her.

She accelerated to the utmost, finally stopping.

She lifted her head; the grand cathedral lood at the end of her sight, with holy prayers and murmurs surrounding her.

Finally, she returned here, her departure point, the endpoint of her springboard.

"Saint Nalos Cathedral..."

Watson looked at all its grandeur. She was considering seeking the new Pope's aid, but no, he knew the secret like her; perhaps the new Pope was already dead.

Taking a deep breath, a massive erosion surged not far behind her. Turning back, Watson could see a stranger slowly turning his head; he smiled at her like a Hunter chasing wounded prey.

Watson retreated slowly, until she was cornered.

"Will you keep running?"

Edren asked from a distance, finding this chase quite interesting.

Watson was silent, but then she showed the sa smile, as if her sinister plan had succeeded.

A blazing storm rose in her eyes, and the violent erosion descended here.
