"YOU FUCKING MORON." In an instant, Lin ilin’s figure was already standing beside Yang Ze, who was screaming in agony. At the mont, both his eye sockets were filled with fla, not only lting his eyes but also the skin around his face. If nothing was done to extinguish the fla, it would burn his entire body to ashes.
Swallowing a mouthful of saliva, Lin ilin cursed him for a good while before raising her hand and placing it directly on his face, covering his eyes.
In that instant, the raging flas, which seed intent on lting Yang Ze, ca to an abrupt halt before dissipating completely, leaving behind a pair of empty sockets from where the sll of burning flesh slowly wafted in the air.
"What a ss." Lin ilin couldn’t help but clench her fists in frustration. On the one hand, she blad this idiot for being so reckless, while on the other hand, she blad herself for not preventing it.
When she t him in the Sword Sect, she clearly felt his gaze wanting to investigate her, but it disappeared soon after.
It was that small interaction that piqued her interest and made her sowhat interested in this brat.
In her mind, it was more like an observation skill that was perhaps trying to discern her cultivation and age.
But now that she saw it in action, her heart was shaken.
Who would have thought that what she thought to be a simple observation skill turned out to be so heaven-defying?
It was a skill that directly peered into one’s essence.
In a sense, it was an extrely powerful skill...so powerful that one rely needs to look at a thing to know about it and have a basic understanding of what it was. As for
But it also ca with its drawbacks.
If one were to look at powerful existences with this skill... the backlash would be overbearing. Especially if the person using the skill is weaker than the beings they are trying to observe.
And the sa happened with Yang Ze. From the day he got this skill, he had been using it occasionally to understand more about things that he couldn’t see with the system’s personal panel.
Initially, everything was going great. Though he always felt pity in his heart for not using this skill against powerful beings that he ca across, like Lin ilin and that thing under the village’s water well, he didn’t think too much about it.
He had a feeling that powerful beings would be easily able to sense it if he were to use it upon them. After all, Lin ilin was an example.
And now that he was training with her, he could finally use it to take a look at her.
But who would have thought that the outco would be this devastating?
Gritting her teeth, Lin ilin scooped him up before disappearing from there and reappearing inside the room again.
She then threw him to the bed and, without any hesitation, disappeared from there.
When she reappeared in the room, she was already carrying a bunch of herbs that seed to be giving off a hazy glow.
Without wasting another second, she rely flicked her finger and with it, the herbs disintegrated before turning into small drops of liquid, which then combined and fell into Yang Ze’s mouth.
*Gulp
Even in his unconscious state, Yang Ze gulped down, and in that instant, his entire body was covered in a hazy glow.
Lin ilin watched in silence with an annoyed expression on her face as the glow on Yang Ze’s body slowly dimd before disappearing completely.
Lin ilin then raised her index finger before pointing it at Yang Ze’s forehead as a small speck of light shot into his head.
It was only then that Yang Ze’s closed eyelids fluttered weakly before he slowly opened them.
His eyes, which had lted away, had regrown at so point, and the burned flesh on his face and around his eyes was now completely healed.
For a while, Yang Ze kept on looking around in confusion, wondering what happened or why he was lying on the bed.
It took him a mont to co back to his senses before he realised what happened, and in that instant, his eyes towards Lin ilin standing beside him changed drastically as he unconsciously pulled himself back, as if afraid of her.
Lin ilin’s corner of lips twitched upon seeing his action before she sat on the bed and grabbed his nose before pulling it towards herself while speaking in a suppressed, angry voice.
"You really have a death wish, don’t you?"
"What were you even thinking about? Using that observation skill?" The more she spoke, the angrier she got. By the ti she reached the end of her sentence, she was practically using his nose as a handle to move his head up and down like that of a chicken.
"I... That..."
Swallowing a mouthful of saliva, Yang Ze opened his mouth to speak, but was having a hard ti coming up with anything to say.
It wasn’t until a few monts passed that he finally managed to speak in a trembling voice.
"What the hell was that?" He didn’t know what he saw. At that mont, he felt like he was standing right in front of the sun. It was a miracle that he wasn’t dead. That searing pain... that burning sensation... the feeling of eyes lting away...
"Wait... MY EYES?" It was only then that Yang Ze realised that his eyes had recovered. He frantically touched his face, and it was only then that he once again looked at the mature woman sitting in front of him with a complicated expression.
"....." Throughout this ti, Lin ilin rely sat in silence, quietly observing the alluring boy in front of her.
Taking a deep breath, it took Yang Ze a while to calm himself before he once again asked Lin ilin.
"What happened?"
"What do you think?" This ti, Lin ilin finally gave him a reply.
"You used your observation skill to take a look at ... wanting to see through my essence. What do you think happened?"
Listening to her, Yang Ze rely shook his head in confusion, not understanding what she was even talking about.
"I.. I don’t understand what you are talking about."
"....."
"....."
"Sigh..." Lin ilin couldn’t help but shake her head before releasing his nose from her clutches and tapping on his forehead.
"You looked at a piece of heaven. What do you think was going to happen?"
"Heaven?" The confusion on Yang Ze’s face only grew as he scratched his head. "What heaven?"
Lin ilin hesitated for a long while, wondering if she should talk to him about it or not. Initially, she wanted him to experience the world a bit more and get used to his current cultivation. But now...
Even though she didn’t want to tell him too much about things, as they might impact his heart. But thinking about how this reckless brat would keep on doing such dangerous things if he were left alone, she couldn’t help but grit her teeth.
To save him from getting into such dangerous situations in the future, it was better to tell him about a few things.
"Rest for now." She rely tapped on his forehead. "Tomorrow, I will tell you everything that you need to know."
Speaking till here, her figure disappeared from the room, leaving behind the figure of a young boy with an otherworldly appearance sitting quietly on the bed with a confused face.
"What a terrifying thing." The only thing Yang Ze rembers was a bright white light and a sense of oppression unlike anything that he had ever faced. It was as if the entire world was crashing down on him.
At that mont, he almost felt like he was about to die.
Yang Ze’s body trembled for a mont as he recalled it. After a few breaths, he cleared his head before gritting his teeth in anger.
"This damned skill is a pit." Although he didn’t know what or why it happened, it didn’t stop him from cursing at the skill. Till now, the only thing this skill displayed was a row of text that was similar to his system panel. But who would have thought that when he tried to look at Lin ilin, instead of showing him the usual panel, it would show him sothing so sinister.
The more he thought about it, the more nervous he beca.
"Thankfully..." Swallowing a mouthful of saliva, he couldn’t help but hold his breath. "Thankfully, I didn’t use it on the damned thing in that village."
Yang Ze was thanking his lucky stars. When he saw the giant creature in the old water well in the village, his heart was shaken, and he was shocked beyond words. This made him forget to use the All-seeing eyes on that creature.
Now, Yang Ze was thanking his lucky stars that he had forgotten. He had a feeling that sothing even more terrifying than what just happened would have taken place if he dared to do so.
"Sothing to do with one’s realm, I guess!" Muttering to himself, Yang Ze slowly cald himself as he began to regulate his breathing.
Even though Lin ilin told him to take so rest, he was in no mood for that. His mind was still reeling with shock over everything that happened.
An entire night passed in the blink of an eye as Yang Ze sat there in silence, trying his best to calm his uneasy mind. Initially, he was having a hard ti, but when he used his enlightennt, he found his heart at peace, and all the distracting thoughts disappeared.
After that... Yang Ze simply sat in ditation, focusing on his cultivation.
It wasn’t until it was morning that he finally opened his eyes and walked out of the room.
Looking at the distant horizon that was beginning to have a red hue, he regulated his breath.
And just when he was thinking about when Lin ilin was going to show up, a soft hand suddenly patted him on the shoulder.
"Umm..." Turning around, Yang Ze was greeted by the exquisite, charming face of the mature woman who didn’t seem to be wearing her usual veil.
"Master." Yang Ze muttered softly as he lowered her head as a greeting.
"Mmm..." Lin ilin simply humd in response before waving her hand, and with that, a pair of exquisite chairs and a small table appeared beside her.
"Co." Without wasting a word, she sat on one chair before pointing towards the other chair.
"Sit."
Yang Ze too didn’t keep any formality. After making himself comfortable, he intently looked at Lin ilin, waiting for her to explain what happened.
Sensing his gaze, Lin ilin closed her eyes for a mont before reopening them and speaking in a flat tone.
"Initially, I didn’t want to tell you about the realms above Core Condensation. I was afraid that it would be more than you could chew on."
"But now..."
With a deep breath, Lin ilin spoke in a firm voice.
"It is about ti you understand what Soul Tempering and Heaven Step truly an."
