Countless fresh, warm lives awaited within.

To a Basilisk that had starved for far too long, it was an irresistible temptation.

For most of these years, it had remained in hibernation, feeding only occasionally. The last ti it had truly eaten its fill was now a distant mory.

And the being commanding it had also ordered it to carry out a magnificent slaughter.

Hunger and command together pushed the Basilisk's killing intent to the brink of madness.

Ignoring the defeated puppet entirely, its massive body twisted as it prepared to surge toward the castle—

BOOM!!!

A gigantic bolt of lightning wrapped in purple and cyan arcs suddenly crashed down from the sky, striking the Basilisk squarely upon its raised head.

Only after the pillar of lightning began fading did the deafening thunder finally erupt across the field.

Numbness and burning agony simultaneously ravaged the Basilisk's body.

It released a painful hiss as its enormous form rolled violently through the mud, sending dirt flying everywhere.

When the lightning finally dissipated, the Basilisk lifted its scorched and smoking head.

Its bloodthirsty yellow eyes imdiately locked onto the new figure now standing before it.

A young man stood motionless amidst the torrential rain.

Erratic arcs of lightning wrapped around his body, while two especially thick currents, one purple and one cyan, glided around him like living spirit serpents, graceful yet deadly.

Before the surrounding rain could even touch him, it was shattered and evaporated by the dancing electricity, forming a hazy mist around his figure.

Under the combined obstruction of heavy rain and mist, the Basilisk's deadly yellow eyes t the young man's calm dark green gaze.

The expected death or petrification never ca.

The silver-rimd glasses resting upon the young man's nose suddenly erupted with deep black light the mont the deadly gaze connected with them.

The magic and curse hidden within the Basilisk's eyes were swallowed and diverted away, vanishing into nothingness.

Lucien remained completely unhard.

He had already observed the battle between the alchemical puppet and the Basilisk and confird that conventional magic attacks were largely ineffective against those hardened scales.

Lucien's gaze shifted toward a section of the Basilisk's flank, where dark red blood was slowly seeping outward.

That wound had been left behind by the puppet's earlier high-output Magic Energy Cannon.

But that was all it had managed to accomplish.

His eyes then swept across the arcs of electricity still crackling across the Basilisk's body and the partially scorched, fractured scales.

The effect of lightning was surprisingly effective.

Was it so natural suppression against this kind of creature?

Then he would simply increase the power further.

anwhile, the Basilisk itself fell into montary hesitation.

Its Death Gaze had failed against a living human?

At the sa ti, the instincts of the ancient creature were frantically screaming warnings.

The tiny human standing before it inspired a level of fear the Basilisk had never experienced before.

"You… are not Harry Potter…"

Malicious hissing sounds intermittently erged from its giant mouth, the aning clearly reaching Lucien's ears.

"But… you must die too…"

Lucien watched as the Basilisk slowly coiled its massive body and entered an attacking posture.

The magic within him surged violently like a floodgate thrown open, rapidly converging toward the wand in his hand.

Across the wand's surface, dazzling magical flas intertwined with purple-and-cyan lightning serpents filled with violent energy, releasing a low humming vibration.

The amplification from the Advanced Elental Thunder Sigil truly was astonishing.

The fifty percent increase in power directly elevated Thunder Magic beyond its original level.

And it was not rely raw power.

The Elental Sigil had dramatically increased Lucien's affinity with the Thunder elent itself.

Now, with only the slightest thought, countless free Thunder elents in the surrounding environnt rushed toward him as though responding to a summons, gathering rapidly and smoothly.

Moreover…

Lucien could sense the vast sea of thunder violently brewing within the storm clouds above.

His perception of natural lightning had never been this clear before.

It felt as though he were only one step away from directly controlling the electricity itself.

The higher the rank of the Elental Sigil, the sharper one's perception of nature beca.

And through that…

Borrow the power of the laws of magic itself.

At that mont, a loud and piercing cry cut through the thunderclouds and rain, reaching Lucien's ears.

Receiving Aether's confirmation, the corner of Lucien's mouth slowly curled upward.

He looked toward the poised Basilisk and let out a soft chuckle.

"What are you waiting for?"

"KILL—!"

The Basilisk's furious hiss had barely erupted when—

Silver-white lightning plasma, thick and flowing like liquid rcury, transford into a waterfall descending from the sky, instantly swallowing the Basilisk beneath overwhelming heavenly might.

Imdiately afterward, an even more violent and overwhelming thunderclap exploded above Hogwarts.

...

Inside the castle.

When the first thunderclap sounded earlier, although it startled so students, most rely twitched their ears and paid it little attention.

But only monts later—

BOOM!!!

The second roar descended with terrifying violence and destructive force.

The entire ancient castle seed to tremble beneath the mighty sound. Even the portraits hanging on the walls fell silent in shock.

It was as though a god wielding thunder had unleashed divine wrath upon the mortal world.

It happened to be around dinnerti, and students were scattered throughout the castle.

This earth-shaking noise naturally caused imdiate unrest.

Gasps and frightened conversations echoed through corridors and common rooms alike.

Soon, the students located within the higher towers, benefiting from their superior vantage points, beca the first to notice the anomaly occurring near the distant shore of the Black Lake.

The scene there was impossible to ignore.

The sky appeared to have been torn open by a gigantic crack.

Dark clouds, thick as ink, spun violently into a massive vortex.

And within the center of that vortex, countless blazing bolts of lightning seed to defy the laws of nature themselves, wildly "growing" from within the clouds.

These were not ordinary flashes.

They were continuous torrents of lightning converging and pouring downward without end.

It looked like an inverted mountain made entirely of pure thunder.

Tens of thousands of lightning bolts intertwined and erupted together, their dazzling brilliance temporarily dispelling the darkness surrounding Hogwarts and illuminating every terrified and stunned face in stark white light.

Inside a corridor near the windows, students crowded together after being drawn by the thunder, desperately straining to see outside.

"I can't see clearly! That lightning was way too bright, and now it's completely dark again!"

"Stop pushing! I brought binoculars! I bought these specifically for Quidditch matches, but I didn't expect to use them here!"

The student eagerly lifted the binoculars to his eyes and looked toward the patch of grassland that now resembled a battlefield torn apart by plows.

The very next second, he sharply inhaled, his voice changing pitch.

"M-rlin! A snake! A gigantic snake!!"

"What snake? Let see!"

The student beside him imdiately snatched away the binoculars.

After only a single glance, he nearly dropped them from fright.

"rlin's beard! It's… it's still moving!"

"I know what this is! I read about it in a book before! This is called a 'Heavenly Tribulation'! The animal is about to transform into a human!"

"Wake up! You've clearly gone insane reading those trashy novels from the Seventh Workshop! This is the magical world! Where would animal transformations co from? And what tribulation?"

Another student stared intently out the window before speaking uncertainly, his voice trembling slightly.

"Look… beside that giant snake… isn't there… a person standing there? Damn it, it's too dark to see clearly!"
