Now reading: Chapter 147: System Upgrade : Tier 2 from Harem Link Cultivation System, a Eastern novel by Xavoz.

It flowed up Lin Tian’s arm like warm honey, heavy and sweet, sinking straight into his marrow. For a heartbeat, there was only that sensation, a profound comfort that made him want to close his eyes and sleep for a century.

Then the mories hit.

Not his own. These were old, so old the edges had worn smooth with ti. They unfolded behind his eyes, not as pictures, but as lived experience.

He stood on a peak that scraped the void between stars. Below him, not a world, but a tapestry of countless realities, threads of light woven into a shimring, breathing whole. He was not alone.

Figures stood beside him, their forms blurred by power and ti, but their presence was unmistakable. A woman whose laughter was the sound of a forge fire. Another whose calm was the deep, cold silence between galaxies. A third whose eyes held the shifting colors of a primal forest.

This was not a harem. This was a covenant.

A voice, his own yet not, spoke into the silence of the mory. "The weave frays at the edges. Singularity is a cancer. It consus, then collapses upon itself. Only resonance can hold the pattern. Only bonds, deep and true, can anchor the light against the coming tide."

He watched as one of the threads in the tapestry below flickered, then snapped. A scream echoed across the taphysical plane, the death cry of a universe that had chosen isolation, that had elevated one supre power above all connection. It withered into a grey, static nothing.

"The path is not about possession," the mory-voice continued, thick with a sorrow that spanned eons. "It is about synthesis. A harmony of opposites. A network of souls strong enough to bear the weight of existence itself. They will call it a harem. Let them. The na does not matter. The purpose is everything."

The mory shattered, replaced by another, more focused.

He saw a man, radiant with a terrible, lonely power. He had climbed to the absolute peak, severing every tie, consuming every rival. He stood alone at the summit of all creation. And as he reached out to grasp the final, ultimate truth... he unraveled.

His power, with nothing to reflect against, no other soul to give it context and aning, turned inward. It devoured him. The splendid peak imploded into a silent, eternal void.

The original voice, the one they might have called the Harem God, whispered the lesson, not with triumph, but with exhausted grief. "A tree with one root dies in the first drought. A kingdom with one pillar falls with the first quake. Reality is no different. It requires multiple pillars, interlocked, supporting each other. Your cultivation... it is not a cheat. It is a duty. You are not stealing power. You are becoming a pillar. And you must find the others."

The flood of visions receded as suddenly as it had co, leaving Lin Tian gasping. He was back in the sanctum, on his knees, his hand still pressed against the radiant core. Sweat beaded on his forehead, cold against his skin.

Xueya was crouched beside him, her hands on his shoulders. "Lin Tian! Your qi, it’s—"

"I’m here," he managed, his voice rough. "I’m back."

Su Lan had his wrist, her fingers on his pulse. Her fire qi was a steady, probing thread in his ridians. "Spiritual shock from massive data influx," she diagnosed, her healer’s tone calm. "Vitals are stabilizing. Core integrity is... increasing. Rapidly."

Lin Tian nodded, pulling in a deep, shuddering breath. The weight of what he’d seen settled in his gut, cold and heavy. It wasn’t just about getting stronger anymore. It was about... preventing that grey, silent nothing. The loneliness of that ultimate power.

We’re anchors, he thought, the concept both terrifying and humbling. The system wasn’t made by so bored god for fun. It’s a tool for maintenance. For survival.

A familiar, crystalline chi sounded in the depths of his mind. This ti, it wasn’t just a sound. It felt structural, like the foundation of a house being reinforced.

Text, etched in light that seed made of starlight and ancient parchnt, unfolded before his inner eye.

The usual blue interface dissolved into swirling motes of gold and silver. They swirled, coalesced, and reford. The new interface was cleaner, sharper. The fonts were elegant, the borders subtle. It looked less like a tool and more like an extension of his own will.

[ System Tier 2 Online. Welco, Administrator Lin Tian. ]

[ New Base Functions Unlocked: ]

- Domain Expansion (Chaos-Harmony Field): Project your harmonized Ice Fla Qi as a spherical domain. Within this field, linked partners receive amplified power, cultivation speed, and healing. Enemies suffer qi disruption, spiritual pressure, and elental imbalance. Radius and potency scale with bond strength and personal cultivation.

- Shared Physique Traits: Your Chaos-Harmony Origin Vessel (A-Rank) is now a modular foundation. Linked partners may petition to temporarily or permanently integrate facets of your physique into their own, such as enhanced ridians, elental resistance, or physical regeneration. Cost: Shared Harem Points and mutual consent.

- Tier 2 System Shop: Access to higher-grade cultivation resources, rare physique awakening aids, and foundational world-law insights. Currency: Harem Points (Converted at 100:1 from previous tier).

[ Mission Rewards Distributed: ]

- Harem Points: 5,000 (Tier 2 Adjusted Value: 50,000)

- Chaos-Harmony Origin Vessel Synchronization: 100% (Perfect Sync Achieved)

- Legacy Comprehension: ’Pillars of Reality’ (Passive) – Your cultivation speed and bond depth are mildly enhanced by your subconscious understanding of the system’s true purpose.

Lin Tian stared at the text, the information slotting into place. Domain Expansion. That was a legendary ability, spoken of in clan myths about Patriarchs who could shape the very battlefield. And he could share his physique? Not just borrow theirs, but give them pieces of his own foundation?

Xueya’s ridians are still inherently fragile because of her bloodline’s volatility, he thought imdiately. If she could integrate so of my vessel’s stability...

"Lin Tian," Su Lan said, her voice pulling him back. She was staring at his face, then at the air around him. "Your aura. It’s... crystallizing."

He blinked, focusing outward. A faint, almost invisible shimr hung in the air around him, a heat haze distorted by occasional flecks of icy light. It was the nascent form of the domain, reacting to his will before he’d even consciously shaped it.

"The system upgraded," he said aloud, for their benefit. His voice was steadier now. "It showed ... why this path exists. It’s not just about power. It’s about preventing a collapse. Our bonds, they’re not just for us."

Xueya’s grip on his shoulders tightened. She didn’t ask for details. She saw the gravity in his eyes and simply nodded. "Then we strengthen them."

Su Lan’s analytical gaze was fixed on the shimring air. "Fascinating. The energy signature is perfectly balanced, yet it exerts a passive field effect. This ’Domain’... can you control it?"

"I think so," Lin Tian said. He pushed himself to his feet, his legs steady. The last of the mory-fog was gone, replaced by a crystal-clear awareness of the new power humming in his core. It was vast, like a deep, placid lake that had suddenly doubled in size.

He reached for it.

The reaction was instantaneous. The shimr around him snapped into sharp focus. A sphere of distorted air, about ten feet in radius, blood into existence with a soft whump of displaced energy. The ground within it didn’t change, but the feeling did.

Xueya, standing inside the sphere, let out a soft gasp. A faint silver sheen, like morning frost, glazed her skin for a second before fading. "My qi... it’s flowing faster. Cleaner."

Su Lan held up her hand, a small fla dancing on her palm. It burned brighter, whiter, with almost no effort. "Amplification. Approximately thirty percent." She looked at Lin Tian, her eyes wide. "This is a strategic treasure. A force multiplier."

The drain was minimal, quickly replenished. He contracted the domain into a tight cloak, then expanded it to thirty feet. The cost rose but remained manageable.

He let the domain dissolve. The strange pressure in the air vanished.

"That’s one of the new features," he explained. "There’s more. I can... share aspects of my physical foundation with you both. Permanently, if we choose."

That got their full attention. Xueya’s eyes went to his hands, as if seeing them for the first ti. Su Lan’s healer instincts visibly kicked in, her mind racing through the implications.

"My vessel’s stability, for your ridians," Lin Tian said to Xueya. "Or its elental harmony, for your control," he added to Su Lan.

Su Lan was the first to speak, her voice clinical. "Permanent physiological integration is a profound step. It would create a deeper, possibly irreversible, spiritual symbiote. The risks of rejection or unforeseen mutation are non-zero."

"I know," Lin Tian said. "It’s not a decision for now. It’s just an option. A tool we have."

Xueya was silent for a long mont. Then she said, "You saw the purpose. If our bonds are ant to be pillars... then making them stronger in every way is our duty. When the ti is right, I will not hesitate."

Her trust was a solid, warm weight in his chest. He felt it through their link, steady and sure.

A deep tremor stirred in his dantian, not a forced surge, but a continental shift. Perfected vessel and refined energy now buckled the wall that no longer had any right to stand.

The bottleneck to the Earth Spirit Realm didn’t crack.

It evaporated.

Lin Tian’s body went rigid. He didn’t scream, didn’t convulse. He simply... expanded.

Raw power flooded his ridians, shifting from his Ice Fla Qi to dense, fertile spiritual earth. He ceased swimming in the river to beco the riverbed itself.

The air in the sanctum thickened. The light from the Fragnt seed to bend toward him. Xueya and Su Lan took a step back, not in fear, but in sheer awe at the pressure rolling off him in tangible waves.

His senses expanded. He felt the stone, the tower’s mortar, and the mountain’s cold heartbeat. He sensed the Rift’s living qi—the beasts, disciples, and fading echoes. Once a painting, the world now revealed its texture under his touch.

The energy cyclone around him slowly subsided, drawing inward, condensing into a new, solid core within his dantian. It was a miniature world, swirling with harmonized ice and fla, anchored by the deep, unshakable stability of earth.

A final system notification, serene and definitive, appeared.

[ Breakthrough Achieved. ]

[ Foundation: Impeccable. ]

Lin Tian opened his eyes. He hadn’t realized he’d closed them. The sanctum looked the sa, and yet completely different. He saw the flow of energy in the air, the latent formations in the walls, the delicate balance that kept this pocket of reality intact.

He was in the Earth Spirit Realm.

The power was not a roaring fire in his chest. It was a mountain. Silent. Immovable. Absolutely certain.

He looked at Xueya and Su Lan. No words were needed; they felt his new depth. Xueya bead with pride, while Su Lan nodded, recognizing success.

Lu Cang, who had been watching the entire process from a distance, sank to one knee, his head bowed. "Senior Brother Lin," he said, his voice hushed with reverence. "Congratulations on your ascension."

Lin Tian took a deep breath, the air tasting of ozone and ancient stone. The Fragnt’s light had dimd, its purpose fulfilled. Its knowledge was now part of him, its energy the final push he’d needed.

He was a pillar now, in truth. And he knew, with a certainty that went bone-deep, that his journey to find and strengthen the others had only just begun.
