Chapter 284 – Incubus Physiology

The room slled like sweat, sex, pride, and kraken brine. The sheets were halfway off the mattress, pillows had been scattered across the floor like fallen shareholders in a hostile takeover, and his body? His body felt like he’d been audited by ten thousand angels with flaming calculators.

He stirred, groaning low, head heavy, limbs heavier. He was naked, obviously, but more than that—he was wrecked. The incubus who prided himself on being untouchable, unshakable, always in control of the books and the bed... had just lived through hours of feral accounting with three very persistent auditors.

Naomi was curled against his chest, hair ssy, lips swollen, still clinging to him like she was afraid he’d evaporate if she let go.

Rava sprawled at the edge of the bed, tentacles limp and dangling over the side like abandoned quills, her body glowing faintly with leftover salt-sheen.

Sira? She was draped across the far pillows like a conquered queen pretending she hadn’t lost the war, one arm thrown over her forehead, the other lazily gripping the ruined sheet as if to say ’I’m resting, not retreating.’

Then—

-Knock. Knock!

Lux froze. His first thought. ’The tax authority finally found .’

But then Lyra’s voice cut through the haze. Calm. Professional. Infuriatingly tily. "Sir, it is nearly eleven. Dinner has been prepared."

Lux groaned into his pillow. Of course. Dinner. The one contract he couldn’t avoid.

He sat up slowly, every muscle protesting, hair a sweaty, tangled ss, lips dry. His cock twitched in a lazy aftershock, half-hard even in exhaustion. Yes, incubus physiology was cruel like that.

Another knock.

Lux dragged himself upright, stumbled over a pillow, cursed softly, and made it to the door. He cracked it open.

Lyra’s eyes flicked over him once—naked, marked, hair wild, scratches visible across his chest, his thighs, even faint sucker marks across his abs where Rava’s tentacles had clung.

She visibly cringed, her lips twitching, but she held her composure. Professional staff didn’t show shock, even when their master looked like he’d just survived a divine orgy hurricane.

"Dinner is waiting," she said evenly. "Shall I set it in the dining room?"

Lux leaned his forehead against the doorfra, chuckling darkly. "Lyra, we’re in a ss." He waved vaguely back at the bed—Naomi half-buried in sheets, Rava still sprawled boneless, Sira pretending she was just resting between rounds. "I don’t think the dining room can handle this right now."

Lyra didn’t even blink. "Understood, sir."

Lux sighed, turned his head, and called out into the chaos. "Guys. Dinner. Do you still want it?"

Naomi stirred first, lifting her head groggily, her hair sticking adorably in every direction. Her voice was soft, husky, like soone who’d scread her throat raw. "Sothing light... please. Soup. Or porridge."

Rava groaned in agreent, rolling over onto her back, tentacles twitching weakly like they were voting with her. "Soup. Simple. Nothing... chewy."

Lux smirked despite himself.

Sira cracked one eye open, her smirk faint but intact. "Wine. Strong. And at. Bleeding."

Lux chuckled. Of course. Naomi wanted gentle. Rava wanted recovery. And Sira wanted to replenish her pride with a rare steak and alcohol that could dissolve gold.

He turned back to Lyra, who stood like a soldier enduring a nightmare. "You heard them."

"Yes, sir."

"Bring it here. No one’s walking anywhere tonight."

Her gaze flicked again over the wreckage behind him—the tangled sheets, the faint moans of exhaustion, the unmistakable sll of hours-long sin. Her professional mask cracked just enough for the tiniest twitch of her eyebrow. "Very well. I’ll have it delivered here."

Lux nodded solemnly. "Good. Because if we try to walk to the dining room, it’ll look like an end-of-quarter financial collapse."

Lyra bowed faintly, turned on her heel, and disappeared down the hall.

Lux closed the door, leaning against it for a mont, chuckling softly. He rubbed his face, then his chest, fingers brushing over nail marks and bite trails. He was a wreck. A very, very satisfied wreck.

He turned back to the bed. Naomi was dozing again, her fingers curled like she was still holding onto him.

Rava had one arm thrown over her face, mumbling sothing about "never trusting tentacles again," which made Lux grin.

Sira just arched a brow at him from her half-sprawl, lips curved faintly.

"What?" he asked her.

"You’re limping," she said smugly.

He looked down. ...Damn. She was right.

Lux padded back to the bed, collapsing into it with a groan, pulling the three of them into his arms—or in Sira’s case, earning a lazy protest before she let herself be pulled anyway.

His body was still buzzing. His heart still drumming. His mind... oddly quiet. For once, no numbers. No calculations. No deals. Just the simple reality of three won sprawled against him, warm, soft, and his.

The silence didn’t last long.

Naomi stirred, propping her chin on his chest, her hair a halo of ssy curls. Her eyes were half-lidded, still glazed from exhaustion, but her mouth curved with a mix of awe and confusion. "Okay... tell what that was. Because you weren’t just Lux tonight. You were—" she hesitated, cheeks flushing—"wild."

"Wild?" Rava’s voice rasped from the other side, still breathless, tentacles twitching faintly like tired snakes. She snorted, her lips curving in a weak grin. "Wild is too ta a word. I’d call it insane."

Lux chuckled, low and rough, dragging a hand through his sweat-soaked hair. "Feral state," he said simply, like that explained everything.

Naomi blinked. "Feral state?"

"Yeah." Lux leaned back against the ruined pillows, sighing. "Incubi... we have a trigger. If we’re pushed too far—aphrodisiacs, overstimulation—our system flips. Control drops, hunger spikes, instincts go redline."

Sira, lounging across him with her usual irritating poise despite the bruises on her neck and the tremor in her thighs, arched a brow. "But we didn’t give you any aphrodisiac, Lux."

His smirk curved, lazy but sharp. "Didn’t need to. You three overstimulated ."

Naomi’s jaw dropped. Rava burst out laughing, then winced because even her abs hurt. Sira’s smirk twitched, though she tried to hold it.

Lux’s voice dropped lower, almost serious. "It was the first ti I ever felt it. Like... like I wasn’t myself. Just a beast. No numbers, no strategy, no balance sheets in my head."
