Now reading: Chapter 731 731: The King’s Hall from Harem Startup : The Demon Billionaire is on Vacation, a Fantasy novel by UnholyGod.

Heat wrapped around them instantly.

The King's Hall wasn't subtle. Lava veins ran through the obsidian pillars. The ceiling arched high with suspended chandeliers made of crystallized soul shards that humd faintly. Demonic sigils pulsed along the walls like living stock tickers of power.

And at the far end…

Kaelmor.

The Infernal King lounged on his throne like soone mildly inconvenienced by eternity. One leg crossed over the other. Tail lazily swaying. Crown slightly tilted. He looked bored.

Which ant he absolutely was not.

Lux and Zavros shifted into full demonic form instinctively.

Horns curved sharp and polished. Wings folded behind them in disciplined symtry. Tails low but steady.

They both dropped to one knee.

"Your Majesty," Zavros said smoothly.

"Good morning," Lux added, voice respectful but not weak.

The King's eyes glead. "Luxy. Zavry." He grinned. "You're early."

Lux's tail flicked once. "Efficiency is a virtue, Your Majesty."

Kaelmor leaned forward slightly, chin resting on one hand. "Yes, yes, you're both so efficient. It's exhausting just watching you."

Zavros didn't react.

Lux smiled faintly. "I've been told that before."

"Oh I'm sure you have."

Kaelmor's gaze shifted lazily between them.

"So," the King continued, tone light. "How are we feeling today?"

Zavros blinked once. "Productive."

"Dead inside," Lux added casually.

Kaelmor burst into laughter. "See? That's what I like about you, Luxy. Honest."

Zavros shot Lux a look that clearly said 'Do not play too much.'

Lux remained calm.

Kaelmor waved a hand lazily. "I watched your conference yesterday."

Lux's eyes flickered faintly. "Oh?"

"Yes. Celestial realm. Fancy lights. Annoying Seraphs. You looked quite… composed."

Zavros went still.

Kaelmor's smile widened slightly.

The King tilted his head like he was asking about the weather.

"So," Kaelmor said casually, claws tapping the throne's armrest. "Did anything… interesting happen yesterday?"

There it was.

Not a direct accusation.

Not a confrontation.

A fishing hook.

Lux kept his expression perfectly neutral.

Zavros did not breathe.

Silence stretched just long enough to be noticed.

Lux answered smoothly. "Not really."

Kaelmor's grin sharpened. "Oh?"

"Everything went well."

That was technically true.

They were alive.

Deals were intact.

Nothing officially collapsed.

Kaelmor leaned forward slightly.

"Really."

Not a question.

A test.

Lux felt Zavros's tension beside him. He didn't glance. Didn't react.

This was a chess move.

Lux exhaled softly. "I was attacked by an Arc Seraph," he said calmly.

Kaelmor's brows lifted in exaggerated surprise. "Oh dear."

"The celestial side is investigating it."

"And?"

"He wasn't from their primary faction."

Kaelmor's tail swayed lazily. "No?"

"No. Likely opposition. Internal fracture."

Kaelmor humd thoughtfully. "And the agreents."

"Secure." Zavros finally spoke. "The deals between celestial and infernal remain intact."

Kaelmor's eyes flicked to Zavros briefly.

Then back to Lux.

"You seem confident."

"I reviewed the covenant paraters personally."

"Of course you did."

Lux held steady. "The Arch-Luminary's escalation did not alter the contractual foundation."

Kaelmor leaned back again. "Mm. I do love when my assets don't get vaporized."

Lux allowed the faintest smirk. "I aim to preserve capital."

Kaelmor chuckled softly. "And this Arc Seraph?"

"Vaeloryn."

"Ah yes," Kaelmor purred. "Bright one. Arrogant."

Lux inclined his head slightly. "Energetic."

Zavros resisted the urge to sigh.

Kaelmor's eyes glead. "And I heard you were dragged into limbo."

Lux's gaze did not waver. "Yes."

"With?"

"Archon Vizreel."

Kaelmor's smile thinned for half a second. "Balance. And you erged."

"Yes."

Kaelmor tapped one claw thoughtfully. "Interesting."

There was weight in that word.

Not playful.

Not bored.

Calculating.

"You ntioned," Kaelmor continued lightly, "that the Seraph was not aligned with their primary faction."

"Yes."

"And you are certain?"

"I confird with multiple cross-layer signals."

Kaelmor leaned slightly to one side. "And yet." He paused. "Rare-grade infernal teleportation was detected in that sa conflict."

The temperature in the hall shifted.

Zavros's wings tightened subtly.

Lux did not flinch. "Yes."

Kaelmor's smile returned. "You didn't ntion that in your first answer."

Lux nodded once. "You asked if anything interesting happened."

Kaelmor laughed. "Oh, I adore semantics."

Lux continued evenly. "The teleportation signature is under review."

"By who?"

"By ."

Kaelmor's eyes sparkled. "Of course."

Zavros finally stepped in carefully. "The signal could be forged."

Kaelmor tilted his head. "Could be."

Lux added calmly. "Or it could be bait."

Kaelmor leaned back again, watching him. "And bait for whom."

Lux's tail flicked once. "For ."

A small silence fell.

Kaelmor's grin returned, wider now. "You always assu you are central."

"I often am."

Zavros exhaled quietly.

Kaelmor rose slowly from his throne.

The movent was casual.

Too casual.

He descended one step.

"Tell , Lux."

"Yes, Your Majesty."

"If soone wished to destabilize my realm."

He took another step down.

"And eliminate one of my opposers."

Another step.

"And make it appear as though you consolidated power."

He stopped a few ters away.

"What would that accomplish?"

Lux answered imdiately. "Force your remaining opposers into panic. Encourage premature aggression. Create internal fracture."

Kaelmor's grin widened. "Delightful."

Zavros finally spoke. "And you think that is what is happening?"

Kaelmor glanced at him. "I think soone tried to play without my permission."

The air humd faintly.

Lux's eyes sharpened. "That would be inefficient."

"Yes," Kaelmor said cheerfully. "And I dislike inefficiency."

Lux tilted his head slightly. "If it is an external faction, they miscalculated."

"And if it is internal."

"Then they miscalculated worse."

Kaelmor studied him carefully. "You don't appear threatened."

"I don't respond to provocation."

Kaelmor laughed softly. "That is not entirely true."

Lux allowed the faintest grin. "I respond profitably."

Zavros almost groaned.

Kaelmor's laughter echoed through the hall. "There he is."

He turned slightly, pacing in a slow circle.

"You were attacked. You survived. An Abyss Lord who opposed you is now dead. And I summon you."

Kaelmor stopped pacing and faced him directly.

"And yet… you stand there as though this is quarterly review."

Lux t his gaze steadily. "It is."

The King blinked.

Lux continued. "Assets removed. Opposition recalibrated. Risk exposure rising."

Kaelmor stared at him for a long second.

Then laughed loudly.

"Oh, I adore you."

Zavros rubbed his temple again.
