Chapter 820 – Remained Unchanged

Lyra observed him quietly for a mont before offering a faint smile. "You seem... relaxed today."

Lux picked up his coffee, inhaling the rich aroma before taking a slow sip. "Don’t get used to it."

"Of course, sir."

He leaned casually against the counter, cup in hand, eyes drifting toward the panoramic windows. Beberly Hills shimred under the morning light. For soone born in chaos and power struggles, this mortal sanctuary felt almost unreal.

And yet...

He was starting to enjoy it.

Not as an escape.

But as a choice.

A life where luxury wasn’t just a symbol of dominance, but a space to breathe. To exist without constant vigilance. To share sothing simple with people who, against all logic, had beco his constant.

Footsteps approached.

One by one, they returned.

And Lux noticed imdiately.

The difference.

Gone were the provocative silks and teasing fabrics of the night before. In their place were outfits that spoke of readiness rather than seduction, practical yet elegant, tailored for movent, confidence, and presence.

Naomi wore a sleek ensemble that balanced functionality with understated charm, her posture sharper, her gaze clearer.

Mira’s attire reflected her dragon heritage, structured, refined, commanding without excess.

Ely opted for soft elegance with subtle armor-like accents, while Rava’s look blended fluidity with strength.

Sira carried her usual regal aura, now wrapped in disciplined sophistication, and Lullaby... well, Lullaby managed to look both battle-ready and perpetually sleepy at the sa ti.

Lux took another sip of coffee.

And realized sothing.

He was the only one out of place.

Still in his suit.

He always was.

Yet instead of discomfort, there was a quiet amusent in the realization. He didn’t dress for practicality. He dressed for identity. For control. For the image he chose to project.

And today, that image remained unchanged.

Breakfast unfolded in a calm, deliberate rhythm. Cutlery t porcelain with soft precision, the scent of roasted coffee and warm pastries lingering in the sunlit dining room. No one rushed, yet no one lingered unnecessarily either. It was the quiet efficiency of people who understood the weight of what awaited them.

Lux observed it all with a subtle, inward smile.

He finished his coffee last, savoring the final sip as if sealing the mont.

Conversations were minimal, exchanged mostly through glances and small gestures.

Naomi refilled Ely’s juice without being asked.

Mira checked her watch.

Rava humd softly, her foot tapping beneath the table in restless anticipation.

When the clock struck 08:30 AM, the atmosphere shifted almost imperceptibly. The servants entered with practiced discretion, wheeling in an impressive collection of suitcases and placing them neatly in front of Lux. The polished leather and designer finishes glead under the chandelier.

Lux stared.

Then blinked.

A faint cringe tugged at his expression.

’Are we relocating or invading a dragon mountain?’

His gaze drifted over the mountain of luggage with growing disbelief. Sira and Lullaby were absent, already departed for the underworld, so this impressive display could only belong to Rava, Mira, Naomi, and Ely. Sohow, that made it both more understandable and more concerning.

He dragged a hand down his face, exhaling through his nose.

"This is excessive," he said finally, voice calm but edged with incredulity. "We’re going to fight, not... for holiday."

Ely, standing closest to him, mirrored his sentint with an elegant nod. She leaned in and placed a gentle kiss on his cheek, her touch warm and reassuring. "I agree," her expression seed to say, even before words could form. "But I still want to bring it."

Naomi, however, offered a sweet, almost innocent smile, the kind that usually ant Lux was about to be manipulated in the most polite way possible. Her eyes flickered toward the suitcases, then back to him with quiet expectation.

"I wonder," she began softly, "if you could... take all this into your dinsional inventory. So technically, we’re bringing nothing."

Lux’s brow lifted.

Ah.

There it was.

He let the silence stretch for a beat, studying each of them in turn. Mira remained composed but did not deny ownership. Rava looked suspiciously enthusiastic. Ely tried to appear neutral and failed adorably. Naomi maintained her diplomatic smile.

"So," Lux said slowly, amusent curling at the edges of his voice, "you’re doing this because I have this power."

No one denied it.

A soft chuckle escaped him as he shook his head. "Fair enough."

There was no real annoyance behind his reaction, only a quiet acceptance. If anything, the situation amused him. This was their way of trusting him, of relying on his strength without hesitation. And, admittedly, he enjoyed being relied upon.

Lux stepped forward, extending one hand toward the luggage. The air around him shimred subtly as infernal energy responded to his will.

With a smooth, effortless motion, he swung his hand.

[Dinsional Storage Activated.]

One by one, the suitcases dissolved into motes of shadow and light, vanishing seamlessly into his private inventory.

Within seconds, the expansive pile was gone, leaving the marble floor spotless and the servants quietly astonished.

Lux dusted his hands lightly, as if completing a mundane task rather than bending space itself.

"Now," he said, tone confident and relaxed, "let’s go."

Lux lifted his hand once more.

"Portal."

[Destination: Private Airport.]

A circular rift of shimring darkness unfurled before them, its edges rippling like liquid night. Beyond it lay the private airport runway, bathed in golden sunlight, their jet already prepared for departure.

He stepped aside, gesturing forward with casual elegance.

"After you."

Mira entered first.

Naomi followed, offering Lux a warm glance as she passed.

Ely moved gracefully through the portal, her expression calm but curious.

Rava lingered a mont longer, giving Lux an excited grin before hopping through with barely contained enthusiasm.

Lux remained for a heartbeat after they had all crossed, casting one final look back at the mansion. The morning light, the quiet luxury, the lingering warmth of shared monts.

Then, with a faint smirk, he stepped through.

The portal closed behind him without a sound.
