Chapter 870 – Sisters?
Rava chuckled, low and rolling. "So you marked her already?" Her tentacle coiled lazily under the table, as if tasting the tension in the air.
Lux nodded once. No flourish, no apology. Just a fact. "Yes."
Ely blinked, eyes flicking between Lux and Yue like she was recalculating half a dozen political equations in real ti. The elf’s poise never faltered, but the ntal abacus behind her eyes was smoking.
Sira leaned forward, propping her chin on the back of one elegant hand. "Interesting." Her smile was sharp, but the curiosity behind it was genuine.
Her gaze sharpened further. "Does she agree with that?"
All eyes shifted to Yue.
The ancient dragoness didn’t flinch. She t Sira’s stare with calm, cool gravity, then turned to Lux, just for a heartbeat, before letting her gaze sweep the table.
"For now," she said, voice like polished stone, "it is... acceptable. We’ll see how he performs."
A ripple of laughter, so amused, so surprised, rolled around the table. Lux just smirked, shoulders loosening as the mood lightened.
Naomi sighed theatrically. "Great. Another woman who might secretly turn into a giant murder-lizard if breakfast scones are sub-par."
Lullaby, half-dozing with her cheek on her palm, cracked one eye open. "Mm. Murder-lizards make mornings more exciting."
Even Mira finally allowed a small, conspiratorial grin. "Trust , ’Lux’s scones’ are excellent. Usually with extra ’cream’." Her gaze lingered on Lux.
Lux smirked faintly.
Sira chuckled. "Confident."
Lux t her gaze. "Realistic."
That got a reaction.
Small.
But there.
Lullaby clapped softly once.
"I like her."
Naomi nodded slowly.
"Sa."
Rava smirked.
"She’s not intimidated."
Ely tilted her head.
"That’s rare. I an, she is an ancient dragon. I thought she would be more prideful."
Yue blinked once.
Then very calmly took another sip of tea.
"I am prideful," she said. "I’m simply not stupid."
That almost killed Sira.
The Pride Lord’s daughter physically jerked back in her chair, one hand imdiately covering her mouth while her shoulders started shaking. Lullaby noticed first and instantly leaned over, slapping both hands over Sira’s face like she was trying to stop a natural disaster before it happened.
"Mmph—"
"Don’t," Lullaby whispered urgently, eyes half-asleep but sohow fully aware of incoming chaos. "Don’t laugh. She’s serious."
That made it worse.
Sira’s shoulders shook harder.
Lux massaged his temple.
Because he already knew exactly where this conversation was heading and it was driving full speed toward a cliff.
anwhile, Yue sat there completely composed, posture elegant, expression calm, entirely unaware she was currently detonating the social dynamics of the room with the confidence of an ancient being trying to understand modern romance through political logic.
"Don’t worry, Lux," Yue continued, glancing around the table. "I know how I should act."
A pause.
"I’m new into this harem, so..."
The girls exchanged looks.
Dangerous looks.
"I need to respect you all as my sisters."
Silence.
Complete.
Absolute.
Even Naomi stopped chewing.
Rava blinked slowly.
Ely stared.
Mira physically pinched the bridge of her nose.
And Sira...
Oh, Sira was losing the battle.
"Sisters?" Sira repeated carefully, voice trembling from suppressed laughter.
Yue frowned slightly.
"Yes?"
Oh no.
She was serious.
"You’re all his harem," Yue explained calmly, like she was presenting strategic battlefield logic. "I’m also included now."
Lux closed his eyes for one second.
Just one.
Because he knew.
He knew this ancient dragon had absolutely no idea how insane she sounded right now.
"I understand there’s no such thing as consorts or concubines anymore," Yue continued thoughtfully, "or princess consorts. Modern structures are different."
Naomi looked like she was trying not to choke.
"But since Lux told I’m his partner," Yue added, glancing briefly toward him, "and you are all his girlfriends..."
A pause.
"I assud ’newbie sister’ is the current terminology."
Sira broke.
A sharp laugh escaped her imdiately before Lullaby aggressively covered her mouth again.
"MMPH—"
"No," Lullaby whispered, now giggling too. "Don’t scare her."
Lux dragged a hand down his face.
"This morning was peaceful for exactly twelve minutes," he muttered.
Mira huffed loudly.
"That’s not how it works, Yue."
Yue blinked.
"No?"
"No," Mira repeated imdiately.
Lux sighed and leaned back slightly in his chair.
"There’s no hierarchy here," he said.
Yue looked genuinely confused.
"No hierarchy?"
"Nope."
Lux pointed lazily around the table with his fork.
"You all have the sa status."
A beat.
"And the sa love."
Yue stared at him.
Long enough that he could practically hear her ancient dragon brain trying to process modern demon romance logic and failing catastrophically.
"I don’t play favorites," Lux added.
"Liar," Ely said.
Lux looked offended.
Deeply offended.
"Your number one lover is coffee," Ely continued calmly.
Naomi nodded imdiately.
"That’s true."
Rava smirked.
"I’ve seen him look at espresso machines with more emotional vulnerability than actual people."
"Hey," Lux protested imdiately, pointing his fork at them. "Don’t argue with facts."
Sira finally recovered enough to speak again, still grinning.
"That thing stayed with through thick and thin," Lux said proudly. "Coffee never betrays ."
Mira crossed her arms.
"It also nearly killed your sleep schedule."
"A worthy sacrifice."
Yue watched all of this silently.
And honestly?
That was sohow funnier.
Because she looked genuinely fascinated.
Like she had entered a strange ecosystem populated entirely by emotionally unstable but very affectionate idiots.
"This is strange," she admitted.
Lullaby tilted her head.
"Good strange?"
Yue paused.
Then looked at Lux.
Then the table.
Then Lux again.
"Warm strange."
The room quieted slightly after that.
Not awkward.
Just softer.
Lux felt it imdiately.
That subtle shift.
The atmosphere changed from playful chaos into sothing quieter underneath.
And damn.
That hit harder than expected.
Because Yue said it so honestly.
No manipulation.
No politics.
Just... truth.
Warm.
Lux looked down at his coffee-less herbal tea with visible disappointnt.
"You’re all lucky I’m emotionally stable right now," he muttered.
Naomi snorted. "You had eight rounds of emotional support sex in the last twelve hours."
"Add five more," Mira corrected casually while cutting her food.
The entire table froze.
Lux sipped on his tea calmly. "Twenty five. Twenty with Yue. Five with Mira."
Naomi chocked on her tea. "You counted?"
"I have good mory."
Sira laughed so hard she almost folded forward onto the table.
Even Yue looked faintly embarrassed now.
Lullaby raised her hand sleepily.
"I’m proud of you."
"Thank you."
