A few minutes back.

Miss rcury was a blur across the battlefield as streaks of yellow lightning cut through the destruction.

Every step she took shattered the ground beneath her, the sheer force of her acceleration sending debris spiraling into the air. Civilians — dead or alive — were being swept up in her arms, carried to safety zones miles away in re monts. It didn't matter if they had already passed — at least their loved ones would have a body to mourn.

That was important. That mattered.

In and out of the battle zone she moved, sotis carrying two or three people at a ti, other tis settling for just one to regain so strength.

She refused to stop. She refused to slow down.

Every second wasted was another life lost.

At the safety zone, dozens of Healer-type heroes were hard at work stabilizing the wounded. Limbs were being regenerated, shattered bones nded, wounds closed. At the center of it all was Scottie — not a healer by class, but a superpower prodigy with vast experience.

Her hands glowed with golden energy as she pressed them against the body of a man whose spine had been completely severed. Within monts, his back straightened, his legs twitched—and then he gasped, sobbing as he realized he could move again.

But the cost was clear.

… Cough! COUGH!!

Scottie coughed violently as she doubled over and spewed black blood onto the ground. Her body trembled, her breath ca in sharp gasps. So of the other healers rushed toward her with deep concern marked on their faces.

"NO!"

Scottie barked, throwing up a shaky hand to stop them.

"Focus on the wounded! I can handle myself — I'm a superhero, after all."

The other healers hesitated for only a second before nodding with respect, returning to their patients.

They could see it.

She was young — much younger than them — but the way she fought to keep people alive, the way she pushed herself past her own limits… that was a real hero.

There were very few modern heroes that would dare to go through all this pain if they didn't have a cara in their face or the public praising them for it.

Just then, a sudden burst of wind signaled Miss rcury's speedy arrival. A shockwave followed, scattering dust and loose papers everywhere. She dropped off another group of civilians before imdiately clicking the side of her high-tech goggles to scan the battlefield.

Her map flashed green.

All the red dots — representing civilians still trapped in the battle zone — were gone.

"Phew…"

She exhaled, clutching her chest as relief hugged her.

"At least that's covered."

She turned to bolt back into action — only to find Scottie standing right in front of her, arms spread out and a serious expression on her face.

Miss rcury blinked. "Uhhh… what's the matter?"

Scottie's eyes narrowed.

"Where do you think you're going?"

"Isn't it obvious?"

rcury scoffed.

"The Hero Agency is getting wrecked by that psycho version of my Scott. Soone's gotta do sothing."

Scottie didn't budge.

"You're not going out there just to get yourself killed."

Miss rcury's confidence wavered for a mont as her expression faltered.

Scottie took a step forward.

"I don't know what the hell happened to our Scott… but he's coming back. I know it. And when he does, I want him to see your face—not your coffin."

There was sothing in her low, firm voice that made rcury hesitate.

That weight… that depth.

Finally, rcury sighed, throwing up her hands.

"Fine, fine. I get it. No suicide missions."

She then put her hands on her hips.

"But if I can't throw hands, what exactly do you expect to do? I'm done evacuating civilians—I can't just sit here and twiddle my thumbs."

Scottie folded her arms.

"I'm not telling you to do nothing. I just want you to be prepared if you're going to take him on."

rcury tilted her head. "Huh?"

Scottie's expression remained firm.

"You can run faster than this, right?"

rcury smirked.

"Uh, yeah? Millions of tis faster. My speed is on par with light itself—well, in theory…"

Scottie frowned. "What do you an 'in theory'?"

rcury exhaled as her smirk faded.

"Before I got my powers, my grandad was the first speedster in my family—a Golden Age superhero. He once tried running at the speed of light…" her voice dropped, "… his body tore into atoms. He just… vanished."

Scottie's brows furrowed.

There was no ti to feel sad for anyone, so she just went straight down to business—

"Right. That makes sense. Scott taught about that before — relativistic mass increases as an object accelerates, so the faster you go, the more energy is needed to keep going. To reach light speed…"

She crossed her arms under her sizable breasts.

"… you'd need infinite energy. It's impossible."

rcury's fists clenched.

She hated it.

She had always boasted that she could move at light speed, that she could end any fight in an instant.

But now? When she actually needed it?

It was just a fantasy.

Scottie suddenly snapped her fingers. "Aha! I've got it!"

rcury blinked. "Huh?"

Scottie pointed at her with a smirk. "I can fix that."

rcury tilted her head. "Fix… what, exactly?"

Scottie's hands began to glow.

"I once copied a villain's superpower in Falan City. It's an insane form of light manipulation."

rcury blinked again. "Wait—copied?"

Scottie grinned.

"That's my superpower. I can copy the abilities of others. I'm not a master at any one thing, but I can get really good at a lot of things."

rcury whistled.

"Damn. Talk about cheating the system."

Scottie ignored that and continued.

"Here's the plan—I can manipulate the light around you. Instead of just running, I'll help you bend light itself. If we can reduce your mass to zero…"

rcury's eyes widened.

"… then I won't need infinite energy."

Scottie grinned. "Exactly."

rcury's heart pounded. Could this actually work?

Scottie held out her hands.

The glow intensified, pulsing with radiant energy.

"If this works, you won't just be a speedster. You'll be a living beam of light."

rcury's lips curled into a smirk.

"Then what the hell are we waiting for?"

"Let's get down to it!"

The air shimred with golden light.

At first, it was just a gentle flicker — tiny photons sprouting into existence like fireflies dancing in the twilight. Then, in perfect unison, they began to orbit Miss rcury, as though she were the very center of gravity in their universe.

Caught between awe and confusion, rcury turned her head left and right, watching the glowing particles swirl around her in srizing patterns.

"Uhh… what's going on?"

She murmured as her eyes darted to Scottie.

Scottie's fingers twitched, subtly guiding the photons' rotation, keeping them in perfect sync.

"Just hold still…"

She muttered with a partly exhausted voice.

Before rcury could ask another question, the photons abruptly changed direction—darting toward her from all angles. She flinched, instinctively trying to bat them away, but the light passed through her body effortlessly and fused into her skin.

A blinding radiance erupted from her, transforming her into a living sun. For a mont, she felt weightless, infinite—like she had transcended her own physical limits. But just as suddenly as it ca, the light dimd, leaving her standing there, completely normal.

rcury blinked, then checked herself over.

"Huh… I don't feel any different. Maybe a little lighter?"

She bounced on the balls of her feet.

"I can't tell."

Scottie coughed violently as her body shuddered with the force of it. A thick splatter of black blood hit the ground. She barely had ti to straighten before rcury reached for her as concern flashed in her eyes.

Scottie held up a trembling hand to stop her.

"No need. I… I'm fine…"

She rasped, rubbing her chest to dull the pain.

After a few steadying breaths, she forced a grin and flashed rcury a thumbs-up.

"You're ready."

rcury hesitated, biting her lip. Her instincts scread at her to take off—she could feel the energy humming inside her, practically begging to be unleashed—but sothing held her back.

"Wait…"

She said, crossing her arms.

"If you can copy superpowers, shouldn't you be fighting at the frontlines too? I an, you could copy that bastard's abilities, use them with your other powers, and—"

Scottie cut her off with a tired sigh. "It wouldn't work."

rcury frowned. "I'm sorry, what?"

Scottie stuffed her hands into the pockets of her trench coat as her posture slumped. The weight of exhaustion was clear in her every movent, but her face was dead serious.

"I already tried to copy his powers the mont I knew he wasn't our Scott. It didn't work."

"Wait, you tried and failed? Why?"

rcury asked, now genuinely intrigued.

Scottie took a deep breath.

"Because his powers don't work like normal superpowers. It's more like… a state of mind."

rcury arched a brow. "The hell does that an?"

Scottie looked at her with a small smile.

"You know how physical money and cryptocurrency aren't the sa thing, but both serve the sa function? It's like that. My da… I an, ga Man's abilities work in a way that's completely different from conventional powers. It's not about genetics, not about energy… it's about belief. If ga Man truly believes himself to be the ultimate symbol of strength, then he is. His power bends to his own perception of reality."

rcury took a slow step back as her mind raced.

"… Don't tell ."

Scottie nodded grimly.

"Yeah. That bastard probably has the sa kind of power. I couldn't copy it because I don't have the unbendable belief that I'm the strongest being in existence. And because of that… I'm not."

rcury dragged a hand down her face.

"Well, that's fucked up. Tha—"

BOOOOOM!!!

A thunderous explosion split the air and shook the very earth beneath them. The sheer force of the shockwave nearly knocked both of them off their feet, sending debris flying in all directions.

Scottie turned to rcury and nodded.

rcury nodded back.

And then she was gone.

━ ━ ━ ━

That was how she ended up in a confrontation with the villain of the mont.

Super Scott.

And she planned to make him eat his words.

A golden streak shot across the battlefield, moving so fast that her body practically ceased to exist in physical space. In an instant, she had cleared the distance between her and Super Scott—but instead of attacking, she blew past him and accelerated even further.

She ran.

Across the oceans.

Through the freezing Arctic winds.

Over the scorching sands of the desert.

Through the towering forests and sprawling cities.

Again and again. Faster and faster. The world blurred into a chaotic ss of color and light as she looped around the planet multiple tis in less than a second.

She was building up speed — more than she had ever dared to before.

Lightning crackled behind her.

Her body was so close to becoming pure energy, but she fought to hold herself together. She needed to release the photons at the last possible mont to regain her full mass — if she mistid it by even a fraction of a second, she'd either do nothing to Super Scott… or erase herself from existence.

"Co on, co on!"

She urged herself, pushing even harder.

Super Scott's eyes darted wildly, struggling to track her.

His grin faltered as his instincts scread that sothing was wrong.

This wasn't how it played out in his world.

rcury was never this fast.

His fingers flexed, readying a counterattack—

"Ahah! There she is!"

But the second he moved—

WHAM!

A pair of arms wrapped around his torso in a crushing grip.

"What the──?!" His head snapped back in shock.

Lady Fortress.

She had him in a bear hug, locking his arms and preventing him from dodging.

Super Scott's eyes widened. "Shit—"

A golden cot crashed into him.

The impact was beyond anything the world had ever seen.

A shockwave exploded outward, shaking the planet itself. The very air scread from the pure force. Super Scott, Lady Fortress, and Miss rcury were all launched in different directions like ragdolls caught in the wake of an apocalyptic blast.

Scottie stood at the edge of the safe zone, watching the whole thing unfold with a tired smirk. She wiped the blood from her lips and muttered to herself—

"Didn't know big bro was into older won… but damn, she's hot, though."

And with that, she turned back toward the wounded, ready to keep fighting.

・・・

The North District was in ruins.

Skyscrapers had been reduced to steel skeletons, streets torn apart like paper, and the once-thriving cityscape was now an apocalyptic wasteland. A dense cloud of dust and debris hung in the air, choking the ruins in a thick, suffocating wrapper.

At the center of it all, rcury lay sprawled in the rubble, her super suit—crafted to withstand the impossible—torn and burned in places, revealing patches of smooth, porcelain skin underneath. Her breathing was ragged as her chest rose and fell in slow, shallow movents.

She let out a weak chuckle, her voice dry and hoarse.

"Good… at least she's not dead…"

Her gaze drifted to her right arm, or what was left of it.

The limb was mangled beyond recognition, bones shattered into dust, muscles torn apart like overcooked at. Even the re act of looking at it sent pulses of pain up her spine, but she just clenched her jaw.

"That better be worth it—nghh!"

anwhile, on the other side of the battlefield, Lady Fortress was struggling to get up. Her legs felt like lead, her arms barely responded, but she still pressed on, dragging herself forward. Every breath she took was thick with dust and blood, her ribs cracked from the impact, yet she didn't care.

If Super Scott was still moving, then the fight wasn't over.

Her vision blurred as she tried to pierce through the dust, hoping to see rcury's handiwork. But all she got in return was a violent cough that tore through her throat, sending a fresh spray of blood onto the ground.

"Did it wo—"

A rush of air. A sudden blur.

Before she could even finish speaking, an iron grip clamped around her skull. Her entire world tilted as she was lifted off the ground like a toy.

Super Scott had moved.

No—he had teleported in sheer speed, erging from the ruins that were ant to be his grave. His fingers dug into her head like a clamp, palm pressing against her scalp as if testing how much force it would take to crush her skull outright.

His grip was playful—almost fascinated, as if handling a new piece of machinery.

He threw his head back and laughed as the sound bood through the empty ruins.

"Oh, man! That was so fucking aweso! Didn't even know won could hit that hard. Good to know at least—hahaha!"

A gaping wound sat at the center of his chest, flesh missing in chunks, his ribcage partially exposed. It was the kind of injury that should've left him gasping for life. Instead, it was healing before their eyes, flesh pulsating like a grotesque sponge sucking itself back together.

rcury, watching from where she lay, felt sothing deep within her shatter.

Despair.

She had thrown everything into that attack—everything.

It was the fastest, most devastating punch she had ever delivered in her life, one that had reduced an entire district to rubble and even shook the planet.

And yet—yet—he was still standing.

Still laughing.

She wanted to scream in frustration, to curse the heavens, to throw herself at him one last ti.

But her body was too broken to move.

If she even tried, she felt like she'd crumble into dust.

anwhile.

Lady Fortress wasn't going down without a fight.

Through sheer will, she forced her arms up and began pumling Super Scott with a barrage of earth-shattering punches. Each one could have flattened mountains, shattered city blocks, turned battlefields into wastelands.

But against him? Nothing.

The blows landed with deafening force, sending ripples through his body, generating shockwaves that cracked the ground beneath them. But Super Scott just stood there, face unbothered as the rciless grip on her skull tightened ever so slightly.

His voice was calm. Very calm.

"At what point—"

He squeezed a little harder, making her groan.

"—will you people start to understand?"

His fingers flexed, and Lady Fortress felt her bones groan in protest.

"I'm not your average villain of the week."

He pulled her closer as his blue eyes burning with sothing absolutely animalistic.

"I'm the living embodint of power."

Another squeeze.

The pressure made her temples feel like they'd burst.

"And with my own two hands, I'm going to wrap this planet in chains—"

He grinned, teeth sharp like a predator's.

"—bind it to my overwhelming strength."

He turned his head slightly, eyes scanning the ruined city like a god surveying his domain.

"And there isn't a single fucker out there who has enough motion to throw hands with a literal god."

He leaned in, voice a whisper now.

"Get that right."

Then, he tilted his head back and roared—

"THINK, PEOPLE. THINK!!"

With that, he smiled at the struggling Lady Fortress and grinned sadistically.

"I'll send you on a little trip…"

He tossed Lady Fortress into the air like a ragdoll, and just as she was about to hit the ground, he drove his fist straight into her face. Her skull shattered on impact as the pure force shook the earth beneath them.

DUUUUUMM!!

The punch was so powerful that it sent her spinning faster than Miss rcury at her peak speed, and in an instant, she was torn from this reality—warped into another dinsion.

Earth Two.

Scott Pri's prison.

His living nightmare.
