Blue Garden Hotel, 10th Floor…

Scott's boots crunched against broken glass and debris as he approached the gas-dispensing contraption. The red mist hissed ominously and poured into the air with a sinister persistence.

But it wasn't the machine that froze him mid-step.

It was the two figures crumpled beside it.

"Maya…"

Her condition was especially horrifying.

Her exposed skin was blistered and raw as it sizzled faintly under the effects of the corrosive gas. The light purple of her costu was charred and stained and her face twisted in agony even in unconsciousness.

By comparison, Vincent looked rely unconscious, though the reddish hue creeping over his skin indicated he wasn't far from a similar fate.

"What the hell happened here?"

Scott's breath hitched.

[IS THAT PULSAR??]

[Oh my god, she looks BAD. Sobody do sothing!!]

[If it weren't for that gas, Pulsar would've stomped this whole situation in SECONDS.]

└ [Shut UP already. Nightwatch is doing his BEST. Show so respect.]

[Poor Pulsar. She didn't deserve this. 💔]

[Bro, what happened to Vincent?! He doesn't even LOOK that hurt. SMH, he probably let her take the fall. Typical.]

Scott's HUD flickered as CAT scanned the scene.

[Subject identified: Maya Rivera, alias "Pulsar." Current condition: Critical. Extensive chemical burns detected. Imdiate dical intervention required.]

"Damn it…"

Scott leaned down to lift her gently.

Her body was unnaturally hot to the touch, even through his super suit. He hoisted her onto his shoulder and his jaw tightened at the faint whimper she let out even in her unconscious state.

[He's carrying her like a HERO! Bro FUCKIN' deserves a dal for this.]

[That super suit must have insane heat resistance to carry her. Respect.]

[Why is nobody talking about how smooth that was?!]

[BRUH, VINCENT IS RIGHT FUCKIN' THERE. DON'T LEAVE HIM, SMH.]

└ [Leave him. Fr. He's useless.]

└ [He's literally Pulsar's agent. We wouldn't know her if it wasn't for him and Priority Solutions.]

└ [Bruh, never thought Vincent would have fans. 💀]

└ [He has 60M followers on Instaflick tho. 🤔]

---

Scott glanced at Vincent as his fists clenched in frustration.

His instincts scread to leave the man behind.

Saving Maya was enough.

Vincent didn't deserve his sympathy in the slightest.

"Ugh… what are you doing──?!"

Emma shouted as she rushed in.

"Shut down the damn machine!"

Her voice rasped from behind him as she was barely visible through the red haze.

"Scott, MOVE!"

She clutched her chest and stumbled forward.

Violent coughs from the residual gas was still dealing with her, and rcilessly too.

[SHE'S RIGHT. SHUT IT OFF ALREADY.]

[Don't sell now, bro. C'MΟΝ.]

[WHY IS HE JUST STANDING THERE?!]

[He better not freeze up. This is NOT the ti.]

---

Scott couldn't even look at Vincent.

Saving everyone wasn't fair. It never was.

But he didn't get the luxury of fairness.

With a guttural growl, he scooped Vincent up into a fireman's carry and charged toward the gas machine.

『I'm only doing this because of Emma. I want to be a hero, but not the one people can make a fool out of and expect to turn the other cheek…』

41st Floor…

Elena stumbled and her breathing strained painfully as she clawed at her throat. Her eyes blurred, and blood dripped from the corner of her mouth as she coughed violently.

"This gas…"

She wheezed with trembling legs.

"Why… why can't I use my powers?"

A low, chilling voice answered from the shadows.

"Because it's a force-gene suppressant. Mixed with a cocktail of nerve toxins, of course. Think of it as a little gift from Black chanica."

Elena spun around and her eyes went wide.

The man in all-black and so red just stood there.

nacingly.

"Who… who are you?"

She stamred and backed away.

The man tilted his head as he held up a bullet.

Elena's heart dropped when she saw what was engraved on its surface.

[Elena Vargas – 2019 to 2045]

The man chuckled softly.

"A pleasure to finally make your acquaintance. You can call … Grave."

Elena's scream tore through the floor as she turned and bolted. Her boots slipped on the slick surface as she sprinted for the stairwell.

Grave sighed and casually loaded the special bullet into his custom firearm.

"They always run."

The shot rang out with a deafening crack.

… click────BAAAANG!!

The bullet tore a hole in Elena's head and her body crumpled to the floor in a lifeless heap. Blood pooled beneath her as Grave holstered his weapon.

He tapped his comm.

"Target A neutralized. Status on Target B?"

Silence greeted him.

Grave frowned. "Team Alpha, report."

Still nothing.

"Team Alpha, co in."

No response.

Every single one of Grave's highly trained soldiers were either dead or utterly brutalized.

Grave let out a low hum.

"Trickshot, bring the helicopter. We're done here."

Seconds later, a helicopter's blades roared as it hovered beside the 41st floor of the building.

Grave stepped toward the reinforced glass and fired three hot but precise shots.

The glass shattered, and he leapt effortlessly into the waiting aircraft.

Inside, Trickshot sipped from a whiskey flask.

"Finally done, huh?"

He had a lazy grin on his scruffy face.

Grave nodded once.

"For now. Target A is at least neutralized. If you're here that ans you successfully acquired the technophages, but Target B is still unaccounted for."

"Noice."

"So, how did you escape Xenon?"

"Oh, that guy? We made a very interesting negation, but it's not sothing I'm willing to share with you. All I can say, is that armored guy is no hero…"

"Hrmm."

Grave's visor narrowed as he looked at The Peak.

The terrified man whimpered in the corner as his super pants got even wetter.

"P-, Please… don't kill …"

He managed to cry out.

Grave sighed. "Move."

The helicopter veered away from the building and vanished into the sky.

━ ━ ━ ━

10th Floor…

Scott slamd the gas-disabling lever into place, and the machine hissed one final ti before falling silent. The red mist began to dissipate and its sinister presence slowly lifted from the room.

[CAT: Atmospheric analysis complete. Toxic levels decreasing. Safety paraters will stabilize in approximately 5 minutes.]

That was all Scott needed to hear.

Emma stumbled into view, coughing as she struggled to carry Maya and Vincent over her shoulders. Maya's raw, blistered skin seed even worse up close, and Scott's chest tightened at the sight.

"You've got them?"

Scott asked as he walked past Emma.

"Yeah, but where are you going?"

Emma glared at him through her watering eyes.

Scott glanced back. His voice dropped.

"To finish this."

Her jaw tightened. "Scott—"

"Get them out of here. Tell the paradics they can head in after five minutes. Help everyone else on the lower floors.

"O-, Okay babe! Be safe, alright?!"

"Mhm!"

Emma watched him go and it was hard not to hide the proud look she had on her face.

『Heh, imagine I show him to my sis and that useless whore I call my mother… they'll be so jealous ♡!』

She was already drooling at the thought.

Without waiting for anything else, Scott ran toward the reinforced glass wall.

His hand moved instinctively to his utility belt and he pulled out an explosive nightwing.

He hurled it against the window and didn't stop running.

… BOOM!

The glass fractured, then shattered, raining shards down onto the streets below. Smoke swirled in the wake of the explosion and through the smoke a figure in black flew out of it like a speed demon!

From the crowd below, a roar erupted.

"YO, IS THAT XENON?!"

"DID HE JUST JUMP?!"

"THIS IS INSANE!"

"WAIT, CAN'T HE FLY OR SOTHING?!"

---

[Livestream: 190,000 viewers]

[Holy sh*t, that's the 10th floor. Is this guy nuts?!]

[Bro's built DIFFERENT. 🔥]

[Sobody call Threadit! I need the slow-mo analysis of this RIGHT NOW.]

[Nah, if he misses, that's ga over. 💀]

[He won't. It's Nightwatch, baby.]

---

Scott's jump threw him quite high into the air.

『C'mon… you can do it…』

His lenses zood in on the retreating helicopter.

His HUD tagged it instantly.

[CAT: Helicopter identified. Occupants confird as The Peak, Grave and Trickshot. Estimated distance: 500 ters and increasing.]

Scott smirked grimly. "Not for long."

Fluidly, he shot a grappling hook from his wrist.

… zzz────ZZZIIIIIIPPPP!!

The line zipped through the air, fast as a bullet, and latched onto the undercarriage of the helicopter.

The crowd erupted below.

"HE DID IT!"

"MY BOY'S GOING FOR IT!"

"IMAX NEEDS THIS SHOT RN!"

The helicopter jolted as Scott's weight added tension to the line. Inside, Trickshot glanced at the sudden rumble and snorted, taking another swig of whiskey.

"Looks like we got a leech…" he said lazily.

Grave didn't even blink. "Keep flying. I'll handle it."

Trickshot grinned. "Damn, aight…"

Grave leaned out of the helicopter with his custom pistol murderously pointed out.

He aid at the grappling line and fired.

… bang! BANG!!

The bullets scraped past harmlessly.

Scott's laugh echoed through the comms.

"Nice try, pal. The line's reinforced with titanium alloy. Better luck next ti."

[Grave's trying SO HARD. 💀]

[Wait, his na's Grave? So edgy…]

[He thinks he's a nonchalant dreadhead fr.]

["The line's titanium alloy!" LMAO, tell him, hero!]

[Grave actually looks cool tho. Gotta respect the drip.]

[Okay, but why does Grave look like he gets bitches?]

---

Grave's jaw tightened.

He aid directly at Scott and fired again.

Scott twisted his body while skillfully swinging side to side to dodge the shots. A few bullets ricocheted off his suit, and he grunted at the impact.

Frustrated, Grave stepped back into the cockpit.

"Trickshot, go faster. Lose him."

"Say less!"

Trickshot whooped and slamd the throttle.

The helicopter lurched forward and flew chaotically through the night.

Scott's body swung like a pendulum and slamd into a billboard. Pain shot through his ribs as he barely managed to stay on the line.

"CAT," he gasped, "ideas?"

[CAT: Calculating tactical response…]

"No ti! Think faster!"

Scott's eyes darted down to the street below.

A series of lampposts lined the road.

"I can do this…"

His voice wavered as he took a deep breath.

"I can fucking do this, alright…?"

[WHAT IS HE DOING?!]

[Bro looks nervous. 😬]

[If he screws this up, it's over. Fr.]

[It's not like we know WHAT he wants to screw up. 💀]

[Co on, Nightwatch. YOU'VE GOT THIS!]

---

Scott braced himself.

With a sharp exhale, he lowered the line but stopped.

The wind roared in his ears as his arms froze.

"Not that hard… C'mon, don't chicken out now!"

Scott's eyes burned as his shallow and erratic breaths worsened by the second as he prepared to make his move.

Below him, the streetlights zipped past in a blur and the wind scread in his ears. His hands trembled, but he tightened his grip on the line and willed himself forward.

"You can do this. No room for second-guessing."

He lowered the line sharply and his body plumted like a missile toward the street below.

His HUD calculated distances with surgical precision.

[CAT: Warning. Velocity approaching critical levels.]

"Not now, CAT."

Closer.

Closer.

With his heart pounding like a war drum, Scott spotted the first lamppost and shot the grappling hook from his left wrist.

… Fwhooosh—CLINK!

The hook latched onto the post with a satisfying snap.

Using the tension of both lines, he swung wide as his montum carried him in an arc around not just one, but two lampposts. He tightened the lines and looped around a second, then a third ti, as each wrap jerked his tired body with bone-rattling force.

The helicopter bucked in the air and its engines roared in protest as the lines pulled taut.

"FUCKIN' HELL!"

Trickshot cursed from the cockpit.

"What the hell's this guy doing?!"

The final loop snapped the lampposts toward each other, bending their steel fras. He dug his heels into the ground and braced himself. Every muscle in his body scread as he pulled the line back with everything he had. His arms felt like they were splintering under the pressure, but he roared, refusing to let go.

"Move, you piece of junk!"

Trickshot scread, slamming the controls as the helicopter strained against the lines.

… SCREEEECH—BANG!

The helicopter couldn't hold.

The undercarriage scraped against the taut lines as it was violently yanked downward.

It spiraled out of control and slamd into the ground with a deafening crash.

… BOOOOM!!

Fire erupted from the wreckage.

Scott collapsed, detaching the lines as his chest heaved.

His lungs burned like they were filled with acid, and his entire body trembled from exertion.

[Livestream: 230,000 viewers]

[HOLY FCKING SHT, HE DID IT!!]

[THAT WAS CINEMA. THIS IS PEAK CONTENT.]

[IS THIS REAL LIFE?! SOONE CLIP THIS!!!]

└ [How many tis do we have to say it is, chat? 💀]

[BROOOOOOO!!! NIGHTWATCH IS HIM!!!]

[MY HEART STOPPED, OMG.]

[Can we talk about how the lampposts bent like that though?! That's insane strength.]

[Dropped a $500 dono. This dude deserves it.]

[I don't even care if it's scripted. 10/10 content.]

└ [Bruh, it's not fucking scripted. Are you daft?]

---

Scott barely had ti to recover before movent from the wreckage caught his attention. Trickshot crawled out first with a face sared with blood and soot.

A low groan followed as a tied up Peak erged, clutching his side.

"Where's Grave?"

Scott rasped as he forced himself upright.

[CAT: Grave is unaccounted for. Scans indicate no life signs in the wreckage.]

Scott's lips curled into a snarl. "Damn it."

Trickshot staggered to his feet.

His wild eyes locked onto Scott.

"You… you son of a bitch! You ruined everything! EVERYTHING! I'll ruin you!"

Trickshot reached for a remote in his pocket.

"Not a chance—"

Before Scott could move, a silver blur shot through the air.

Trickshot scread as a throwing needle buried itself in his hand and pinned the remote to the ground.

Scott and Trickshot both turned toward the source.

A figure stood silhouetted against the moonlight atop a small, nearby building.

It was an absolutely sexy woman.

She stood there in her sleek, form-fitting black suit, accented with bold red straps that hugged her thirsty, gorgeous hourglass figure. She had a soft, yet oddly tough face, and a short bob that frad her innocent but dangerous beauty.

This woman was truly beautiful, and the plumpness of her breasts and her butt in her tight super suit truly made her even more enticing.

"Rope Girl…"

There was deep fear in Trickshot's voice.

anwhile, The Peak's expression shifted from pain to manic glee.

"Rope Girl! It's you! Finally, I've been a bad boy! Tie up! Ta , baby!"

[BRO, IS THAT ROPE GIRL?!]

[OMG SHE'S PERFECT.]

[Seeing Rope Girl for the first ti in two months?! I used to pray for tis like these 😭🙏]

[PLEASE STEP ON , QUEEN.]

[Is it , or does her suit look tighter today? 👀]

[Rope Girl is GOATED. Nightwatch better wife her up.]

[SOONE CLIP THIS. I NEED HD.]

[LMAO, The Peak's down bad. 💀]

└ [Who even invited his ass?]

---

Rope Girl tilted her head as her face twisted in disgust.

"Pathetic…"

Trickshot grinned through the pain as he raised his remote.

"Let's see how pathetic you think I am after this!"

He smashed a button.

From the shadows, the muffled pfft of silenced shots rang out as phase-bullets streaked through obstacles, homing in on Rope Girl.

She moved in a blur, drawing her lasso and snapping it into a rigid staff.

The staff spun with precision as she deflected each bullet in rapid succession.

… clink! clink────CLANK!!

Sparks danced around her as she leaped into the air.

The chat exploded.

They were hoping to see a zoom-in shot of her butt in order to bless their eyes for the first ti in months. But, the System imdiately made the cara drones censor her butt.

[Rather than at, we got pixels 😞…]

[HOW IS SHE THIS GOOD?!]

[No way she deflected ALL OF THEM!]

[I'm dropping $100 right now. This is ART.]

[They censored her butt again. I hate this shit.]

[This woman is a goddess, and I'll die on this hill.]

---

Rope Girl didn't waste a second.

Trickshot hurled a grenade at her in desperation, but she intercepted it mid-air with her lasso and whipped it into the sky where it exploded harmlessly.

She landed with a roll and used that montum to carry into a devastating stomp that slamd Trickshot's head into the pavent.

He passed out instantly.

[SHE JUST ENDED HIM.]

[Trickshot's head made a dent. Y'all see that?!]

[HOW CAN SOONE BE THIS COOL?!]

[I want her to step on like that. No cap.]

[Nightwatch Rope Girl = Unbeatable Duo. I'm so fuckin' here for it, dawg. 🔥🔥🔥]

---

Scott staggered to his feet and watched as Rope Girl adjusted her gloves.

She glanced at him and raised an eyebrow.

"You alright?"

Scott gave her a weak thumbs-up.

"Y-, Yeah… thanks for the assist."

She nodded once. "You looked like you needed it."

"Yeah, I guess…"

Scott did his best to look at anything but her.

It was so weird to et another hero as Nightwatch, especially one so drop dead gorgeous.

『Wow, she's beautiful… like a lot…』

He didn't know what to say.

Rope Girl folded her arms under her perky breasts, then tilted her head as she looked a bit curious.

"So, what's your na…?"

Her nose sexily scrunched up.
