The office was a swirl of pink hues—soft pastels on the walls, a plush carpet with intricate rose patterns, and floral accents scattered across the room.

A faint aroma of lavender lingered in the air and mingled with the gentle clink of porcelain as Dr. Goode prepared tea at his desk.

The resting chairs, more akin to luxurious lounge beds, were angled just so, allowing the two won to lay back comfortably and stare at the ceiling.

Emma let out a soft sigh as her yellow eyes traced the faint swirls in the ceiling design.

Maya was next to her, uncharacteristically silent, her hands clasped tightly across her stomach.

Dr. Goode, with his perfectly trimd beard and slightly theatrical deanor, added another cube of sugar to the tea before stirring it ticulously.

"Now, Emma…"

His voice was both deep and smooth.

"Can you repeat what you said before? You know, the thing about being selfish with the man you love?"

Emma inhaled deeply.

"Well…"

Her voice grew softer.

"It's… it's complicated to put into words again. But, um, I just don't know how not to be selfish with the only man I've ever really felt… well, love for. It's like…"

Her words faltered, and she frowned, struggling to express the storm in her chest.

"It's like making a friend for the first ti after being lonely for so long. You treasure them so much that it's hard to adjust to seeing them play with others, even if you know they'll still give you attention."

Dr. Goode raised an eyebrow as his hands still swirled the spoon in his teacup.

"Hmm… so, you're scared he'll start moving around with other won?"

Emma bit her lip. She tried to shift slightly in her chair to look at him, but the mont her head tilted, Dr. Goode's voice was sharp.

"Ah, ah, ah!"

He wagged a finger without even looking.

"Keep your eyes on the ceiling, Miss Graves."

Emma groaned softly.

"Alright, alright."

She adjusted her position again.

"As I was saying…"

Her voice grew quieter, almost hesitant.

"It's not just that I'm scared he'll… move around. I'm scared of his potential."

Dr. Goode's stirring slowed.

This was only their first session yet she was so open.

Emma sighed heavily.

"I an, he's incredible. So incredible that I'm even scared to post our pictures together on social dia because… what if he gets famous? Popular? What if he finds soone better than ?"

Her voice cracked slightly, and she covered her eyes with her arm.

"I don't want to be obsessive or bitchy about it, but every ti I think about him with soone else, I feel this… overwhelming urge to—"

She paused to swallow hard.

"Well, to kill soone."

Maya's head turned slightly toward her friend.

"Whoa…"

Dr. Goode humd thoughtfully and finally set down the spoon and lifted the tray of tea.

"Hmm, I see where this is going…"

He carried the tray over.

"Basically, you're a crazy woman in love. Uh-huh… rare to find these days."

Emma let out a soft chuckle despite herself.

"Is it because we're… special?"

Dr. Goode's lips twitched into a wry smile.

"No… because they're usually in a psych ward."

He set the tray on the table between them.

Emma's smile faded imdiately.

"Oh…"

She muttered as her half-lidded eyes glared at him.

Dr. Goode took a small sip of his own tea before crossing one leg over the other.

"But seriously… have you ever considered that maybe… just maybe, you're putting too much ownership into this relationship?"

Emma frowned. "What do you an?"

Dr. Goode leaned back in his chair before swirling the tea in his cup.

"Well, there's a belief that having too much control or ownership over sothing limits its ability to reach its full potential."

Emma's frown deepened.

"So… are you saying I'm holding him back?"

Dr. Goode chuckled, shaking his head.

"Ah, no need to get defensive. Let explain."

He reached for his notepad on the table and quickly flipped through it.

"Let's see… where was it? Ah, yes. You said, and I quote—"

Emma's eyes widened in horror.

"Wait, wait! What are you──!!"

Dr. Goode ignored her and started reading aloud in his perfectly calm tone.

"He's so hot that whenever I see him, it feels like every unholy cell in my vagina squirts honey so much it's enough to feed an entire beehive. And my nipples get so hard they could double as tools in a hardware store. All I want is for him to tear my panties off like a horrible report card, grab by the neck so hard he'll be taken to court for assault, and then pin to the wall and uh… well, uhm… fuck so hard with his stallion-sized… I'll skip this part… while calling a little bitch until I start crying like maltreated wife on a…"

"STOP!"

Emma sat up abruptly as her face burned red.

"That's enough, Dr. Goode! Please!"

Dr. Goode chuckled, then set the notepad aside.

"Alright, alright. I'll spare you. But you get the point."

anwhile, Maya was frozen, her face pale.

Her eyes darted toward Emma, then back to the ceiling, as if trying to process whether this was the sa woman she'd been talking to minutes ago.

Emma let out a sharp exhale and gave an awkward side-eye toward Maya, whose widened eyes scread of shock and secondhand embarrassnt. For a mont, Emma's lips parted as if to say sothing, but she thought better of it, looked back at the ceiling, and muttered, "Whatever…"

Rubbing a hand down her face, she sighed.

"So, where're you going with this?"

Dr. Goode, who had been savoring the warmth of his tea, finished his sip but kept the cup near his lips.

"With this sort of… intense, let's call it 'passionate,' love you have for this man, you need to learn to love him without stifling his growth as a person."

Emma frowned and shifted slightly in her chair as an annoyance bubbled beneath her calmness.

"What exactly do you an by that?"

Dr. Goode set the cup down gently, then leaned forward slightly.

"You're the founder and CEO of Hermia, one of the most influential companies in the world. With the resources you have at your disposal, you could ensure this man becos more than just so regular guy. If you already love him as he is, then why wouldn't you love him when he achieves his full potential?"

Emma hissed softly, her frustration evident.

"The issue isn't loving him…"

She sounded like she'd lost it.

"It's… it's the sharing part. I don't want to share him with anyone else! But ti and ti again, things keep happening that make feel like I have to fight for him."

Dr. Goode chuckled softly, the sound low and almost patronizing. He crossed one leg over the other, then rested his elbow on the arm of his chair.

"Fight for him? Why? If he loves another woman, does that sohow an he'll stop loving you? From everything you've told , this man clearly kissed another woman before you, yet here you are, loving him this much anyway. Have you ever considered how hard it must be for him to reject won deserving of his affection, just to be with you? That kind of sacrifice… it's hell, Miss Graves."

Emma's eyes narrowed dangerously.

"You don't understand at all what I'm saying. If he feels the sa way about , then he should have no problem turning down other won. I'd do the sa for him without hesitation! Why should it be any different for him?"

Dr. Goode sighed as the weight of her words settled heavily on him. He leaned back in his chair and rested his head against his palm, looking for all the world like a teacher exhausted by grading subpar essays.

"Alright…"

He sounded deeply exasperated.

"Let's try this another way. Imagine Miss Rivera here—"

Maya blinked in surprise and pointed at herself. "?"

"Yes, you."

Dr. Goode nodded.

"Imagine she was the one this man fell in love with first. They're dating, living a happy life together, and then you sohow fall for him anyway. How would you feel if he rejected you? How would you deal with it?"

The room fell deathly silent.

Emma sat up abruptly as tears filled her eyes.

"That's… that's not fair…"

She looked angry and hurt… all at once.

Dr. Goode raised a hand quickly.

"Miss Graves, no, sit dow—"

"No!"

Emma's voice was sharp as a blade. She pointed a trembling finger at him while her face flushed with fury.

"You better shut your mouth! I won Scott fair and square. You don't have the right to sit there and spew this garbage about him being with soone else and being the one rejected! I'll never imagine a world where I'm not with him, much less one where he chooses soone else over !"

She slamd her fist onto the table with enough force to rattle the tea tray.

"That'll never happen!"

Before anyone could respond, Emma vanished in a blur of motion as the sheer speed of her departure left the room in stunned silence.

"Emma!"

Maya called out, scrambling to her feet.

She made to follow but stopped when Dr. Goode placed a firm hand on her shoulder.

"Let her go…" he said calmly. "It's better we leave her to think. She needs this."

Maya hesitated before sinking back into her chair.

"O-, Okay, then…" she murmured, very confused.

Dr. Goode stood and dusted imaginary lint off his vest.

"I'll be back. Just need to take a quick… phone call."

Maya frowned, raising a brow as she watched him leave.

"Scott… that's his na?"

・・・

In another room…

Dr. Goode flicked the switch to brighten the place.

His heart nearly leapt out of his chest when a deep voice spoke from the shadows.

"So, how did it go?"

Dr. Goode recoiled as his back slamd against the door.

Seated casually on a worn sofa in the corner was Scott, though he looked older, more worn.

His hair was slicked back, slightly ssy and longer than before, and a black eye patch covered his right eye. Dressed in a plain black hoodie and matching pants, he exuded an air of quiet nace.

His one visible eye was dark and emotionless as it fixed on the startled therapist.

"Damn it, Scott!"

Dr. Goode gasped as he clutched his chest.

"You've got to stop doing that!"

Scott rose from the sofa, his hands buried deep in the pockets of his hoodie. His presence was heavy, almost suffocating as he closed the distance between them.

"Have you convinced her yet?"

Scott's voice was low, scary even… enough that it made Dr. Goode's pulse quicken.

Dr. Goode adjusted his collar nervously.

"It's not that simple. Convincing a woman to share her man with soone else… it's not exactly a walk in the park—"

Scott grabbed him by the collar and yanked him forward.

"Do I look like I have the ti to wait? Do I──?!"

"I… I uh…"

"DO I?!"

Scott slamd him against the door.

Dr. Goode swallowed hard as a sweat bead on his brow.

"N-no… but if you want this to work, rushing her won't help either. She's stubborn, and—"

"Then find a way."

Scott's voice dropped to a dangerous whisper.

"Because if you don't, everything I'm trying to protect… will fall apart."

Dr. Goode exhaled softly while his palms trembled as they gently covered Scott's larger, rougher hands. The pressure of Scott's grip eased slightly, though the tension in his body remained ever present.

"Scott…"

Dr. Goode called his na almost like a father.

"You need to breathe. Just calm down, alright? I'm not your enemy here. If you want to help, I need ti. Do you understand that? I'll convince her. I don't know the whole story, but I trust you. If this is as important as you're making it out to be, then I'll make sure it happens."

Scott's single eye remained on him.

But after a mont of strained silence, he let out a low, guttural sigh and released Dr. Goode, who stumbled slightly but kept his composure.

Scott coughed.

… hack────HACKK!!

It was a harsh and wet sound.

His hand shot up instinctively to cover his mouth.

When he pulled it back, his palm was red.

Both n froze, as their eyes locked on the blood.

Dr. Goode's heart sank. "Mr. McQueen…"

Scott glanced at the blood, then back at the man.

"Do you see now?"

His voice was hoarse.

"There's no ti."

Dr. Goode hesitated, then nodded solemnly.

"I'll get you so water, alright? You need to—"

"No."

Scott shook his head sharply.

"I can't stay. I'll be back here at exactly midnight. Not a minute earlier, not a minute later."

Dr. Goode frowned as his brows wrinkled in concern.

"Midnight? Why? What's happening? Please, you need to explain—"

Scott brushed past him.

His steps faltered slightly before he stopped at the door and glanced back over his shoulder.

"Today is the most important day of my life."

There was no heart in his words nor his voice.

"I have to make sure I fix everything."

Dr. Goode's frown deepened.

"Fix what? Sir, please, even just a little context—"

"I can't."

Scott shook his head as his head dropped briefly.

"What I can tell you is this: today, I break a promise. A promise that reshapes my life and pushes to grow into the person I need to be. But it also makes enemies—powerful ones. Ones my past self can't afford to have right now. If I don't fix this, everything I'm trying to protect will be destroyed."

Dr. Goode opened his mouth to protest, but Scott's voice turned sharper.

"Just do your job, alright?"

Before Dr. Goode could respond, Scott's body was enveloped in a burst of blue light. The energy crackled faintly as he vanished and left the therapist standing alone in stunned silence.

Outside, Scott reappeared just beyond the front steps of Dr. Goode's house.

He adjusted his hoodie and began walking away.

"Whoa! How'd you do that just now?!"

Scott froze mid-step and his body went rigid as his blood ran cold.

That voice—he knew it.

Slowly, he turned his head.

His tired eyes narrowed as he saw her.

Emma stood a few feet behind him, her arms crossed, her lips parted in curiosity. Her earlier frustration had faded, replaced by wide-eyed amazent.

Scott's heart skipped a beat, but his face managed to remain impassive.

"Emma…"
