Elion slowed to a stop in the middle of the hallway. His eyes moved across the panel once. Then again.

The talent buff was to be expected; he had already noticed the change earlier, after all, but seeing the words displayed so clearly still sent a pleasant shiver through his body.

Peak Primordial Grade.

The highest talent grade known to exist in this world. He could only imagine how drastically it would affect his future growth.

There was also a substantial change in his individual stats, one he hadn’t witnessed in quite a long ti, but considering that he had jumped five levels and also what he had been through, that was to be expected.

What made him actually grin like a fool was the absurd number of points that he had harvested from Zenith.

He had almost been left with nothing after recently spending five thousand points to buy a rare healing potion during his battle with Asmodeus.

It wasn’t the sa grade as the one he used to help Aria regenerate her arm, but he didn’t really need the sa; the rare grade healing potion was enough for him, all it did was speed up his otherwise already broken regenerative abilities.

aning, he had received sothing close to 685 000 system points from his lengthy and multiple sessions with her! This was the first ti he had accumulated this many!

’What a haul!’

His dream of one day buying those bloodlines did not seem as distant anymore! Once he let himself drool over how rich he was not, he quietly told himself to calm down, but his eyes kept drifting to the number.

But he still had other things to look at, so his attention soon shifted toward the three unfamiliar affinities that had appeared, two of them beneath Ti Magic.

Spatial Magic.

Ice Magic.

Soul Magic.

The first two were not particularly difficult to understand. Zenith had used ice magic quite frequently during her battle against Asmodeus, and the invisible pressure surrounding her after rging with the Philosopher’s Stone had clearly possessed so connection to spatial manipulation.

Soul Magic, however, was more interesting.

Perhaps it had sothing to do with the way she had sealed Asmodeus’ soul so completely that he no longer possessed any chance of returning to the world.

Elion rubbed his chin thoughtfully as he continued walking. Unfortunately, two of the affinities were still dormant, aning he could not use them yet.

He had already understood that simply having an affinity did not an he could automatically use it; the system could only do so much to help him cheat the world’s basic laws.

Not that he was complaining.

His current collection of affinities was already becoming rather absurd. He had barely found enough ti to properly study the magics he already possessed, and now the system had casually thrown three more onto the growing pile.

His swordsmanship had suffered from the sa problem.

He had told himself repeatedly that he would train his left hand until he could wield a second sword properly, but the past weeks had been far too chaotic for him to make much progress. He had practised throughout one night in the Great Forest, but that was nowhere near enough.

But he was already happy with his gains; Between Kurogoroshi’s passive enhancent and his recent level-ups, his attributes had reached a level that felt increasingly unreasonable for an Advanced Mage.

He had not even crossed into the High Mage Stage yet.

Two more levels.

That was all he needed.

Elion smiled faintly.

Once he crossed that threshold, he doubted there would be many people beneath the Sage Stage who could threaten him in a straightforward fight.

Then again, he had thought sothing similar before entering Asmodeus’ castle, only to have his arm removed from his body before he could even understand what had happened.

His smile faded slightly.

There was always soone stronger. That was sothing he had been reminded of repeatedly throughout this trial.

lroy had been overwhelmingly powerful.

Asmodeus had been even more terrifying.

And after rging with the Philosopher’s Stone, Zenith had reached a level that Elion could not even begin to comprehend.

Compared to them, he was still weak.

Promising, perhaps, dangerous for his level, certainly, but still weak in the grand sche of things. Elion dismissed the thought with a quiet sigh.

There was no point in becoming impatient.

He had only received the system almost a year ago, at least from his perspective, and he had already grown far beyond anything his forr self could have imagined.

The rest would co with ti.

His gaze shifted toward the list of permanent partners. Zenith’s na sat at the end. A small smile appeared on his face. At least that problem had been settled.

She would be able to leave this place with him. Isla could co along as well; now he only had to explain the situation to the princess without sounding completely insane.

Elion closed the system panel.

He continued walking for another few minutes before finally arriving outside Isla’s quarters. He did not imdiately knock.

He stood there quietly, thinking about the best way to explain everything.

Hello, Isla. Your entire world exists inside a strange trial. I will disappear in less than two days, and I would like you to abandon everything you have ever known and follow into an uncertain future.

Elion stared at the door with a deadpan expression.

"That sounds terrible," he muttered beneath his breath.

He took a slow breath, raised one hand, and knocked lightly.

Knock. Knock.

For a few seconds, there was no response, and then he heard faint footsteps approaching from the other side.

The door opened.

Isla stood before him, even dressed simply, she looked impossibly beautiful, with her long blonde hair falling loosely around her shoulders.

Her long lashes fluttered as she blinked at the sight of him.

There was still a faint exhaustion in her eyes from the past few days, and the sorrow had not vanished completely from her face, but when she saw Elion standing outside her door, her expression softened slightly.

"Elion?"

He smiled gently, "Do you have a mont?"

Isla studied his face for a second before nodding, "Of course." She stepped aside, and Elion walked into the room. Now ca the difficult part.

The room was quiet.

Isla closed the door behind him and turned around, her fingers lingering against the handle for a mont before she finally looked toward him.

Elion stood near the centre of the room, searching for the right words. That was unusual for him.

Most of the ti, words ca easily. Whether he was teasing soone, making light of a difficult situation, or saying sothing shaless enough to earn a glare, he rarely had trouble speaking his mind.

But this ti was different. Isla noticed almost imdiately.

"Is sothing wrong?" she asked.

Elion smiled faintly, "A lot of things have been wrong lately."

"That is not reassuring."

"No," he admitted. "I suppose it is not."

For a mont, neither of them spoke.

The distant noise of celebration still echoed faintly from sowhere beyond the palace walls, softened by the closed windows and thick stone surrounding the room. It sounded far away now, almost disconnected from the quiet tension settling between them.

Isla moved toward one of the chairs near the window and sat down. Elion remained standing. Her eyes narrowed slightly.

"You are making nervous."

He sighed, "I am trying to figure out where to start."

Elion looked toward her for a long mont, then walked closer and took the seat opposite hers.

"I am going to tell you sothing difficult to believe," he began carefully. "And I know how absurd it is going to sound."

Isla did not interrupt him.

"I would probably think soone had lost their mind if they tried to tell the sa thing," Elion continued. "But I need you to listen until I finish before deciding what you think."

Her fingers curled lightly against the fabric of her dress. "All right."

Elion leaned back slightly and exhaled, "This world is real."
