Kyle wasn’t clueless and picked up on everything that happened. He was observant and knew Priscilla was watching him.

He couldn’t afford to slip up, and the best way to keep a dog off your tail is to throw it a bone.

This was what Kyle planned to do, and he had the ingredients to do so.

He left for the waiting room and noticed Priscilla had once again separated from Oliver.

Kyle wondered if he should approach him or leave the hospital; there was sothing he needed to know.

He needed to know what they were up to, but his phone rang soon after to take away his attention.

It was a text from Cassandra. It had been a while since he had seen her, but that was to be expected.

The won were all on the sa page; they were aware of each other’s existence.

This would make it easier for Kyle to introduce them to one another because he intended to keep them in his harem for as long as possible.

He didn’t answer the text, quickly placing it back in his pocket, and by the ti he raised his head, he could no longer see Oliver.

It was like he vanished into thin air, but he wouldn’t be able to move that fast to begin with, which ant he must be around.

Kyle moved to find him, but he barged into soone, unable to move out of the way in ti.

"I-I’m sorry," Kyle was quick to apologise, as the last thing he wanted to be was a nuisance.

He noticed it was a nurse, but Kyle didn’t pay her much attention as he left the area.

However, from his blind spot was Priscilla, watching him, and Kyle had made another mistake.

Cassandra went to et up with her friend and realised halfway there she had failed to inform Kyle, so she shot him a ssage, hoping for a response.

There was nothing wrong with what she did, but Kyle had already shown himself to be a possessive man.

She didn’t particularly dislike it; as a matter of fact, she liked that he didn’t wish to share, even though he wasn’t emotionally invested in her.

This agreent was to provide security in the end—nothing more, nothing less.

However, Cassandra couldn’t help but fall for him because he made her feel seen and gave her security that her ex-husband couldn’t.

But there was one mont that replayed in her mind, which was Kyle’s mont with her child.

This was sothing she couldn’t get out of her head, and it was what stirred up feelings in her.

Kyle had given her all the weapons she would need to conquer the battle with her ex-husband to win custody of her child.

Cassandra was glad things were going her way, but this was a much-needed distraction because Kyle didn’t want to see her.

If he did, she would ditch this man and go to him without a second thought because he was the one she wanted to please the most, not so old pal from high school.

Dexter was waiting for her, but Cassandra picked the venue where they were eting.

She walked into a coffee shop and saw Dexter waiting, but in the corner of her eye, she could see that other won were gawking at him.

They wanted him, and who could bla them? He was gorgeous, and Cassandra couldn’t believe how good he looked.

Not only was his body one of the best she had seen, but his face was everything he wasn’t when he was younger.

The fact that he arrived here first and waited for her showed he truly wanted to et her.

This naturally prompted her to lower her guard because this was Dexter, the harmless boy she knew in high school, even though she had no idea how life would have changed him.

She sat across from him, waving at him, but she did sothing that she didn’t give much thought to at the mont.

She wore a crop top that showed her chubby stomach, but this was not because of Dexter.

It was due to her growing self-confidence, allowing her to carry herself and her body with more dignity.

Kyle had taught her one thing: it was her body that made him attracted to her, and if soone as rich and composed and amazing as Kyle liked it,

then it must be a plus, not a minus. But this didn’t an everyone saw her the sa way Kyle did, as she noticed the glances.

They were all focused on her stomach, but that couldn’t be helped, and she had no regrets as she understood there could be several reasons why they were looking at her.

It could be because they thought she was attractive—an idea she couldn’t conceive before Kyle.

But most importantly, the look in Dexter’s eyes told her everything she needed to know.

"How do you look even better than before?" Dexter was quick to shoot her a complint.

"Oh my! Thank you," Cassandra blushed, but she noticed his eyes were focused on her ring.

She wore the ring to solidify this illusion.

"You don’t look bad yourself," Cassandra fired a complint right back.

"Thank you, thank you!" Dexter responded with a full-teeth smile, keeping the conversation at a friendly tempo.

"I must say, I’m surprised you agreed to et up with ," Dexter confessed.

"Why would you say that?" If this were before she t Kyle, she would have been the one feeling lucky, but not anymore.

"Don’t worry about it," Dexter dismissed it, but the air around him had shifted—sothing Cassandra took note of.

The waitress ca, and they both placed their orders. They caught up with one another and realised their lives were going pretty great.

But Cassandra didn’t like lying, and this was shown at the end of this little catch-up, as she had slipped up multiple tis. However, he didn’t call her out on it.

Every relationship was complicated, and she assud hers fell into that category. But why did Cassandra feel the need to tell him the truth if he was going to be a passing character in her life? Did she perhaps wish to maintain their relationship?
