Now reading: Chapter 43: Deal with Myself? from Harem in Hazbin Hotel, a Mature novel by Shadowolf0323.

Max shut the door to his room behind him and locked it—not out of fear, but habit. The Hazbin Hotel had grown quieter as the night settled in, the distant echo of laughter and music from downstairs muffled by thick walls and layered wards he'd helped reinforce over ti.

He sat on the edge of his bed and turned the envelope over in his hands.

No markings. No sigils. No warning.

He broke the seal.

Inside was a single sheet of paper—pure white, faintly glowing, and completely blank.

Max squinted at it.

"…Huh."

He tilted it. Turned it upside down. Held it closer to the lamp. Nothing.

"I was expecting sothing cryptic," he muttered. "You know, riddles, hidden anings, vague threats about fate. That's usually how You communicate, right?"

The paper ward slightly in his hands.

Then the room shifted.

Not visually—not at first—but in weight. The air thickened, pressure pressing against Max's skin like standing too close to a star. His wards flared instantly, sigils igniting along the walls as layers of shadow and ruin snapped into place.

A voice echoed inside his head—calm, familiar, and infinitely vast.

"Why would I speak between the lines with family?"

Max didn't even look up.

[Gods look in comnt here]

"God," he said flatly. "If I'd been a second slower, you would've disintegrated everyone in this hotel." His jaw tightened. "Including your granddaughter. And my future in-laws."

The pressure wavered.

"Ah," the voice replied mildly. "Yes. Apologies. I'm still adjusting."

Max exhaled slowly, eyes glowing faintly as he forced more barriers into place. The divine presence was already burning his nerves—holy energy slipping through the cracks like radiation.

"Adjust faster," Max snapped. "You're leaking."

The pressure eased, just enough to breathe.

"Is this really an Avatar?" Max continued, voice strained. "Roo and I had to filter our power twice just to exist without tearing holes in reality."

There was a pause.

"I suppose it does have its perks," God admitted. "Being the one who built the universe, and all."

Max snorted weakly and dropped onto his bed, skin tingling painfully. He pulled an HP potion from shadow storage and drank it in one gulp.

The scars faded—but the numbness didn't.

"…Damn it," Max muttered, flexing his fingers. "I just got my arm back."

"That one's on ," God said. "Here."

Sothing clicked.

"Authority Code approved," the voice intoned calmly. "Allow the Damned to regenerate from holy damage for ten seconds."

Max gasped.

His regeneration slamd into overdrive, nerves reigniting as sensation flooded back into his limbs. Pain, warmth, cold—everything returned at once, leaving him dizzy but intact.

"…Thanks," Max said after a mont, leaning back. "I'd be pretty pissed if I went numb again. Especially since I'm expecting guests tonight."

"I know," God replied. "Like you, I've turned off spoilers. Mostly. That change was recent."

Max rubbed his temples. "You didn't co here just to show off your Avatar."

"No," God agreed. "I have a job for you."

A tiny portal opened near the foot of the bed—small enough that Max could barely fit his hand through. It shimred faintly, reality bending inward around its edges.

Max stared at it.

"…I'm not doing a portal glory hole," he deadpanned.

There was a pause.

"…That was not the intention."

"Good," Max said. "Then talk."

"I need you to make a deal," God continued. "On my behalf. Well—technically on yours."

Max blinked. "That doesn't clarify anything."

"The Reincarnation Deities," God explained calmly, "pulled another version of you."

Max stiffened.

"…Excuse ?"

"Multiverse variance," God said. "Minor path deviation. Sa origin. Sa core. Different outco."

Max stared at the portal, unease creeping into his chest. "And you want to deal with myself."

"Yes."

"That's a terrible idea."

"I know."

"Why?"

Another pause—longer this ti.

"…Because if I don't," God said carefully, "you will cross paths. And that becos… problematic."

Max frowned. "You're not telling sothing."

"That is also correct."

He sighed and stood, approaching the portal cautiously. "Fine. Then tell the difference. I need to know I'm not shaking hands with so dark mirror version."

God's voice softened.

"He's like you were," he said. "Introverted. Quiet. Thoughtful. But… he found soone."

Max hesitated.

"A girlfriend," God continued. "And she was kind. Grounding. They died together."

Max's chest tightened.

"They're being reincarnated together," God finished. "Elsewhere."

Silence.

"…And the deal?" Max asked quietly.

"You offer your power," God said. "In exchange, your paths never cross. He lives his life. You continue yours."

Max looked at the portal, then down at his hand.

"…Alright," he said at last. "I'll trust you."

He reached through the portal.

The mont his fingers touched sothing—himself—reality shuddered. A brief, strange echo rippled through his mind: a sense of peace, warmth, sothing almost like gratitude.

Then it was done.

The portal snapped shut.

"Thank you," God said.

Max flexed his hand, shaking off the lingering resonance. "You owe for that."

"Yes," God replied easily. "One more thing—Roo's creation is currently in the Ring of Envy."

Max froze.

"…How."

"No idea," God admitted. "Good luck."

And just like that—

The pressure vanished.

The room returned to normal.

Max sat heavily on the bed, staring at the blank sheet of paper still glowing faintly in his hand.

"…I really hate it when you people say 'good luck,'" he muttered.

Outside, the hotel buzzed with life—unaware that another thread of fate had just been quietly rewoven.

And sowhere in Envy, sothing new was waiting.

[Author: So, thanks to a reader of mine. I decided to not add Percy Jackson universe to this story but make another. This chapter basically connected the two stories. Ill start the other story in a bit but this story will be my main one so ill post more frequently here that the other. But ill give so teasers. For one this isn't just the Percy Jackson universe. Its mixed with DxD. Most events are separate though. And he has the powers and Phantasms of all servants in Fate as well as the powers of all demons and sinners in hell (both DxD and Hellverse). I won't spoil his girl here yet, but you will see once I posted the first chapter or two. The story is called "Demon of Destruction (Percy Jackson x DxD)]
