After dinner, the task of washing dishes was left to the magic automata. Everyone gathered to listen to Lupin recount the story he pieced together from old newspapers.
"I don't know much about this person, as their story took place in the 1930s in the United States and France. There wasn't much coverage of it here in Britain," Lupin began.
"No wonder I've never heard of it…" Sirius muttered. "We weren't even born then!"
He calculated the tiline and realized that even his parents had only just been born during that period. However, Sirius detested his parents and had no intention of ntioning them.
"Credence Barebone was raised by a Muggle who belonged to an anti-wizarding society. Due to the abuse he suffered, he beca an Obscurial but was fortunate enough to survive into adulthood," Lupin said.
"The reason I wanted to learn more about his story is because I ca across an old note that said, 'Credence Barebone is the only one who could defeat Albus Dumbledore.'"
Lupin narrated the parts of the story he knew in detail.
Wade, who had previously seen those mories in the Pensieve from a series of films, listened intently.
Hearing the sa story from a different perspective can make it uniquely fascinating.
Lupin—or rather, the British journalist who had written the report at the ti—didn't know that Credence was, in fact, also a Dumbledore.
He was Aurelius Dumbledore, the son of Aberforth Dumbledore. Separated from his father at a young age, his mother died early, and his life was a tragedy from the start.
Despite possessing imnse magical potential, Credence never beca a wizard due to his tortured childhood. Instead, he beca an Obscurial wielding dark power, manipulated by Gellert Grindelwald, and ultimately t a tragic end.
Unaware of these details, British dia sensationalized the destruction Credence caused in New York, painting a vivid picture of the terror during Grindelwald's reign in Europe.
Their primary goal was to highlight Albus Dumbledore's strength and greatness in ending it all.
To the people of that era, the savior of the wizarding world was not a little boy with a scar on his forehead but was instead Albus Dumbledore, who brought peace to the Wizarding world. Thus, they spared no effort in using the most extravagant language to praise him.
However, it's likely that Dumbledore himself disliked such reports.
Those celebrated achievents were built upon the suffering and bones of his own blood relatives.
As a result, reports of these events in Britain were neither abundant nor detailed. Even though Lupin made a deliberate effort to investigate, he could only uncover fragnts.
But even so, it was enough to captivate Harry.
He had never thought about what Dumbledore might have been like in his younger years, but after hearing Lupin's story, only one thought filled his mind—
This is Dumbledore!
In the perilous tis of war, he fearlessly defeated one powerful enemy after another. No matter how his foes threatened, tempted, or intimidated him, he always held firm to his principles, protecting countless weak and innocent lives.
Harry felt a secret yearning in his heart—a longing to beco a wizard like Dumbledore. But even voicing such a desire seed to require imnse courage.
As they prepared to head to Diagon Alley, Harry remarked to Wade:
"Gellert Grindelwald, Credence, Voldemort… It's unimaginable how many dark wizards Dumbledore faced in his lifeti."
"I once heard a saying," Wade replied, "that if the heroes of an era shine particularly bright, it ans the era itself is exceptionally dark."
"Huh?" Harry was montarily stunned. It was a perspective he had never considered before.
Wade continued, "Peace should be sothing that everyone who desires it works together to achieve… If the peace of the entire world rests on one person's shoulders, I can't imagine how much they would suffer."
Harry fell silent.
For a long while, apart from speaking when stepping into the Floo, he didn't say another word.
As the green flas flickered, the group once again arrived at Diagon Alley.
The process was the sa as before—withdraw money, buy essentials, then browse the shops, picking up things they liked or having a drink.
In recent years, the Aslan Magical Workshop had consistently been the most bustling shop in Diagon Alley. Many wizards from abroad traveled all the way to Britain just to source goods from the workshop.
After purchasing potion ingredients from the apothecary, the group decided to head to the workshop.
From a distance, they could see a crowd gathered there.
"Follow ," Lupin said. "I know a side entrance used by staff."
Since he often liaised with the workshop on Wade's behalf, Lupin was quite familiar with the place.
They followed Lupin, weaving through alleys until they entered through what looked like the back door of soone's ho. Inside, they were imdiately greeted by several people moving boxes.
"Hey, private residence! Please don't—Remus?!"
One of the staff was about to shoo them away but stopped mid-sentence upon recognizing Lupin. His face instantly lit up with surprise and delight.
He quickly walked over, skipping the handshake and opting for a strong hug instead.
"It's been so long! I've been wondering when I'd see you again!"
Wade and the others curiously observed this man. He was dressed in the workshop's blue-and-yellow uniform. He was tall and thin, with sparse hair that made him look malnourished, but his exaggeratedly warm smile was unmistakable.
"Hello, Will. How have you been lately?" Lupin asked with a smile, giving him a brief hug.
"Fantastic! Never been better! Six months ago, I couldn't even dream of living such a good life!"
Will said cheerfully, his gaze shifting to the group accompanying Lupin. "And these people are…?"
"Oh, let introduce—"
"Wait, wait! Don't say it! Let guess!"
Before Lupin could finish, Will interrupted him. He examined the group with his slightly protruding eyes, starting with Sirius.
Will studied him seriously for a mont before extending his hand. "You must be Sirius Black! I've always admired you! Your experiences have given so much strength and courage!"
"Uh… thanks?" Sirius replied, a mix of awkwardness and pleasure as he shook Will's hand.
Then Will lowered his gaze and imdiately spotted a pair of erald-green eyes and the lightning-shaped scar on Harry's forehead.
His expression instantly turned to one of astonishnt, like a startled frog.
"No need to say it! No need to say it—Harry Potter! Our Savior!"
He bent deeply at the waist and shook Harry's hand vigorously.
Harry's scalp tingled, and he nearly jumped out of his skin as he hastily said, "Hello, Mr. Will."
"It's such an honor to et you! Could you sign an autograph for ?" Will continued, still gripping Harry's hand.
"All right, Will, you're going to scare him," Lupin interjected, rescuing Harry from his awkward predicant. Will's gaze then shifted to the last person in the group.
Wade squinted slightly and spoke up on his own, "No need to guess. My na is Wade Grey. It's a pleasure to et you, Mr. Will."
Will looked at Wade's outstretched hand, slowly grasped it, and bowed even lower.
"I owe you a great deal, Mr. Grey."
"You might not know … but you've given a second chance at life."
