Glenwhite picked up the photo and casually set it aside. Caryll reached out, took it, and glanced at it.

"I heard them say that this guy nad Will might already be dead. Why are we still looking for him?" Caryll asked.

"Who can be sure he's really dead?"

Glenwhite replied:

"If he's alive and has fallen into the enemy's hands, we need to decide whether to rescue him or silence him, depending on the situation. If Dahl and his team's failure was caused by Will leaking information, then he must pay with his life."

"So, either way, he's dead, right?" Caryll tossed the photo aside indifferently. "I just hope I run into him—this place is too boring."

"That's not your mission. Your job is to get close to Wade Grey, and if the opportunity arises..."

"I know, I know! You've nagged about it a dozen tis already!"

Caryll interrupted impatiently. Seeing that the image in the enchanted mirror hadn't changed, he turned on the TV in the guest room as well.

He sat cross-legged on the bed, barefoot, looking like a mischievous kid. But because of his good looks, this posture didn't seem annoying.

Glenwhite cursed under his breath and stopped bothering with him, instead he picked up a pen and wrote sothing on paper.

Judging by the hand-bound parchnt notebook, it was obviously a Book of Friends.

Outside the window, Wade clicked his tongue.

Technological advancents always ca with drawbacks—even an inventor couldn't limit the convenience of their invention to just themselves and their allies, without also benefiting others—especially their enemies.

If it were a mobile phone, he could at least try installing so kind of background surveillance.

But the Book of Friends was just a piece of paper. Wade couldn't hide a monitoring spell in it without anyone noticing—especially when wizards like Dumbledore existed. No one knew exactly how many spells he had mastered.

Wade wasn't foolish enough to challenge wizards who had spent a lifeti studying magic with just his one or two years of experience.

So, every page of the Book of Friends he created was clean—no hidden surveillance, no hidden traps.

This was also why, after entering the Muggle town, Glenwhite still chose to use the Book of Friends—because Muggle telephones could be easily tapped, while the Book of Friends could not.

Thus, as the inventor, Wade could only watch from behind the glass, completely unaware of what Glenwhite was writing on the paper.

—Perhaps I don't need to wait any longer.

Wade glanced at Caryll, silently withdrew from the group of three birds, and glided toward a narrow alley nearby.

He needed to return to human form—only then could he use magic or potions to take down the two people in the room.

Wade had no sentintal attachnt to Caryll either. He just wanted to give the twisted kid a good beating, reunite him with his poor father, and then ask Dumbledore or so elite Aurors to investigate the truth.

Caryll's attack on Lupin was truly vile, but at the sa ti, he was not yet 14 years old. Under Muggle law, he couldn't be held criminally responsible.

But in the wizarding world, even thirteen- or fourteen-year-old minors sotis have to pay the price for their actions.

Wade was contemplating the best way to capture the two unguarded individuals in the room when he suddenly heard a strange flapping sound.

He turned his head sharply and saw two large bats drop from the sky, landing directly on the glass window of the guest room.

"Who's there?"

With a loud thud, Glenwhite rushed to the window, highly alert, and then saw the two bats.

"Nile, Kurami? You're not keeping watch anymore?"

"Hmm."

The two bats transford into human form—a man and a woman. The woman was one of the couple from earlier, while the man looked sowhat familiar.

Wade thought for a mont and then rembered—this man had also been in the tavern before. He hadn't stood out much and had been partially hidden behind so green plants.

"Dumbledore is already here, but he's currently occupied with the wounded. I suspect that if we stay any longer, we might get caught," Kurami explained.

Glenwhite frowned at first, then nodded. "You're right… Where's the photo?"

"Here." The man, Nile, gestured to the cara in his hand. "It hasn't been developed yet."

Glenwhite nodded. "Do it as soon as possible! Preferably, let's get it on tomorrow's front page."

"Got it," the man said, focusing on the cara.

Glenwhite didn't mind his attitude. Instead, he sneered maliciously and said,

"The wizards here are too soft. Even werewolves and vampires are pathetic. It's all because of that damn Guidelines—"

"Guidelines for the Treatnt of Non-Wizard Part-Humans," Caryll suddenly interjected. "I think that's what it's called."

Glenwhite paused and asked, "Aren't you the one who never pays attention in class?"

"Co on, I don't sleep all the ti," Caryll replied, exasperated. "Besides, I do skim through books sotis."

Glenwhite was montarily at a loss for words, so he decided to ignore Caryll and turned back to the other two.

"Once this news gets published, it'll cause an uproar, and those werewolves will be in an even tougher situation. When we approach them again, they'll finally understand who their real allies are!"

Caryll barely resisted the urge to roll his eyes and muttered sothing under his breath.

Both Nile and Kurami nodded. Kurami grinned wickedly and said, "Then I'll report that Claire is a werewolf! Let her taste what it's like to be betrayed by soone she trusts!"

"Sha no one died," Nile suddenly remarked. "That would have made the news even more explosive."

"No problem, just find a good journalist," Glenwhite suggested. "Like that Rita Skeeter…"

"She's been keeping a low profile lately," Kurami said. "Apparently, after exposing a high-ranking official from the Ministry of Magic, Rita Skeeter has been targeted and had to flee the country."

"Then go find Guffey. I rember he's an editor now."

"Got it."

"Hoot hoot."

Two sounds rang out almost simultaneously.

Nile suddenly turned his head and stared at the owl outside the window. After watching for a mont, he slowly pulled out a wand and suddenly flicked it toward the window!

A black beam of light struck the owl that had made the sound, and it dropped straight down.

Then, before the second owl could fly more than two ters away, it t the sa fate as its companion.

Wade crouched in the corner of the alley and watched as the man picked up the two dead owls from the ground. The man glanced around warily, and only then returned to the inn's room.

"What's wrong? Using magic all of a sudden," Glenwhite reprimanded. "Be careful not to expose us."

"You're the ones being careless!" Nile frowned and scolded, "There were owls outside the window. Why didn't you shoo them away? Don't you know wizards can transform into animals?"
