Fred was stunned, and the teacup in his hand trembled slightly, sending ripples across the surface.

"An heir?" he repeated.

Then he recalled the wizard in the video who had cast that terrifying spell. The Streaming Mirror hadn't captured his face from the front. Judging from his back, he appeared to be a tall, slender young man.

Fiona frowned slightly and said in confusion: "Grindelwald is over a hundred years old, isn't he? Isn't having an heir kind of… expected?"

"To be precise, he's around one hundred and ten."

Moody narrowed his normal eye into a slit, and solemnly said:

"You don't understand, Mrs. Grey. For a wizard like Grindelwald, that age doesn't really count as old."

"Especially for Dark Wizards—they have all sorts of unspeakable ways to extend their lives."

"And… with the kind of man he is, it's hard to imagine him ever allowing soone else to share in his power."

"But…" Fred hesitated. "That young man beside him…"

The way he stood, the magic he unleashed—it all looked like a carefully staged debut, like a grand ceremony announcing an heir. They were arrogantly declaring their power to the world, asserting the young man's existence.

Moody slowly nodded.

"Exactly. If Grindelwald truly has an heir, then that person wouldn't just be a follower—he would be soone who's inherited Grindelwald's bloodline and ideology."

"But soone that powerful… soone that strong…"

Moody unconsciously tightened his grip on the dinner knife and clenched his jaw.

"—We've never even heard of him!"

The wizarding world, while closed off from the Muggle world, was tightly connected within itself.

European wizarding families intermarried and communicated frequently, often ignoring geographical distances through magical ans. News rarely stayed hidden.

A naturally gifted wizard could beco powerful by locking himself in a castle and practicing for years.

But for a true heir to rise, talent and diligence weren't enough. He would need life experience, trials, emotional intelligence, the ability to work with others, to build networks, to learn leadership and decision-making.

It wasn't a fairy tale. He couldn't grow up perfect while locked in an ivory tower.

But this so-called heir—who was he? Where did he go to school? Did he have friends? Who taught him? What were his interests?

Moody had a wide network. He knew many people, even so within the current ranks of the Alliance—dark wizards he had once hunted or acquaintances from the past.

But after asking around, he found nothing except a surna. It was as if this person had fallen straight from the sky.

"—Brown. That's all I got. I asked everyone I could. They all called him that. But even the na—I can't be sure it's real."

Moody spoke with a heavy tone.

The Greys fell silent with a chill creeping over them.

The Alliance. Grindelwald. These were nas that belonged to history. Though they'd resurfaced in the past year, they didn't spark a war like decades ago. Their actions had been limited to targeting Muggles who persecuted wizards.

So said Grindelwald was repenting for his past sins, that everything he did now was to atone.

So called him the Guardian of the Wizarding World's Darkest Hour.

Others said that the once most powerful Dark Wizard simply ca to recognize the changes in the world and the current state of the Alliance—that he knew resistance was futile, and so he was using this new approach to gain the wizarding world's approval and acceptance.

One way or another, the once domineering Alliance seed to have llowed. Grindelwald's tyranny and ambition appeared worn down by ti, like an aging lion who had lost its fangs and no longer inspired fear.

But now, knowing that he actually secretly nurtured such a person—it was as if an invisible, enormous net was quietly unfolding, with a deeper, vaster shadow lurking in the darkness, while the unwitting prey beneath it remained blissfully unaware.

For a long ti, the room was heavy with silence, the weight of those thoughts pressing down on everyone, leaving them speechless.

At last, Fred spoke in a low voice, "If that's the case… could the dark wizard who cursed the forest—and the one who cursed the mascots—be the sa person?"

His voice dropped instinctively, as though afraid of awakening sothing terrible.

"It's very possible," Moody nodded. "Our guess—and it's just a guess—is that the dark wizard could be another heir raised by Grindelwald… only, he was the one who lost in the competition."

His eyes dropped to his plate. He cut his beef pancake in half, leaving an uneven, charred-edged piece behind.

Then he sliced off another large chunk with the dinner knife, and tendons on the back of his hand bulged as if he were channeling his anger into the motion.

"They're playing a dangerous ga," he said with venom in his voice. "They're gambling with innocent lives, playing an incredibly dangerous and wicked ga."

He shoved the at into his mouth and chewed savagely.

Fiona's lips trembled. "I thought… when I watched the streaming mirror, I really thought they were protecting the people inside…"

"They're both the protectors and the attackers. They only show the world the side they want people to see."

Moody's voice turned cold. "Fifty years on, Grindelwald has beco more cunning. He no longer shouts for war—he's learned how to deceive the public."

Fiona twisted her fingers, glanced upstairs instinctively, and then said, "Wade will return to school in a week… in this kind of situation…"

Moody's hard expression finally softened a little. He replied gently:

"Don't worry about that, Mrs. Grey. Hogwarts is still the safest place in Britain. Not even a little wolf cub raised by Grindelwald would dare step foot there easily. Even Grindelwald himself would think twice."

After a pause, he added: "Besides, I'll be at Hogwarts this year."

"Really?" the Greys exclaid in surprise.

"Dumbledore invited to teach Defense Against the Dark Arts. I've accepted."

Moody continued, "Hogwarts is about to beco the center of the entire wizarding world. With danger looming, I can't just stand by… I'll keep an eye on Wade for you."

He put down his utensils and said seriously:

"I won't sugarcoat anything for you—Fred, Mrs. Grey—Hogwarts will be more dangerous this year than ever before. But it will also be safer than anywhere else."

"I'll protect the students in that school, and fight until my last breath. Unless I'm dead—your son will never be in danger. That, I promise you."
