"Very good! Now pull up on the broom the rise a bit and then push down on it to descend." she ordered and I followed the instructions easily.
I was tempted to shoot off even if it would get in trouble but resisted that intrusive thought. All in all I had to say using a broom as fairly intuitive all things considered. You pulled up to go up and down to go down. You leaned forward to accelerate and back to brake. Additionally I learned most brooms actually had special enchantnts on the handles so sitting on them wasn't uncomfortable like you would expect.-
I wasn't allowed to really cut loose on the broom as Madam Hooch took her job seriously and wanted to make sure I had the basics down before that. Still I could confidently say I had so talent for flying as it was as easy as breathing to smoothly execute her orders. Despite this talent however I had to admit I wasn't interested in playing quidditch at all. With observation haki like mine that I had been slowly turning into Enel's own version it simply had no point beyond humiliating literally every other player.-
I was already blending my observation into the naturally present electromagnetic charge in the air literally everywhere so my range could if fully unleashed cover a massive area. An interesting thing I noted doing this however was that the professors couldn't sense it anymore. Pure observation they caught instantly but blending it into these charges made it invisible to them. It was also how I could detect Flitwick even after his little perception trick to counter pure observation. He could ss with normal perception observation haki but he couldn't alter his own bioelectric current and that made it stand out.-
Honestly the main reason I don't cover the full area my haki could at this point was because the castle was full of teenagers with raging hormones. I shut down that level of observation after catching no less than seven couples going at it all around the castle, simultaneously mind you. I shuddered just thinking about it. As for quidditch it was because of the snitch. If I played that golden ball would get caught within seconds of the ga started each and every ti. That sounds amazing on paper but it flat out ruined the ga for everyone.-
It's like going to cheer for your favorite sports team only for the ga to end nearly instantly after it starts. At first it would drive the crowds wild since it was aweso but soon enough it would start a riot as there were no gas to watch so long as I played. I'd probably be told to either NOT catch the snitch imdiately or get kicked from the team flat out. Better just not to even play to begin with at that point, not that I cared much either way.-
The hour of practice was over in a flash and Terry and Mike had to go back to the common room to collect their money before we headed for the secret passage.
"So what's this secret passage anyways?" Terry asked curiously as we walked out the common room.
"It under the statue of Gunhilda of Gorsemoor on the third floor. The statue was commissioned to honor her discovery of a cure to Dragon-pox. Not sure how or why the statue was turned into the "door" to the passageway or even if the passageway was there before the statue. Anyways the trick is to tap the statue and say Dissendium to get it it move out the way." I explained honestly.
"How do you know it's a statue of that witch in particular?" Mike asked confused.
"Because not just anyone gets a statue in Hogwarts and she's the only witch famous enough that matches the statues description. You'll understand when you see the statue." I said with a chuckle.
"Hang on though, I thought Hogwarts hadn't changed much since it was founded? That's what the history book says after all." Terry pointed out.
"Relatively speaking it hasn't. The castles structure is almost an exact match for what it was a thousand years ago, what changed was what was IN the castle. Rooms repurposed, statues added, that sort of thing." I said with a shrug.
We soon got to the third floor and I stopped in front of the ugly statue of a hunched back, one eyed witch with gnarly features and thin wiry hair. I grandly swept my arms in a dramatic flourish as I introduced the statue as the one we were after. They both had looks of disgust as they peered at the statue.
"Bloody hell, you weren't joking about being impossible to misidentify." Terry muttered with a disgusted look.
"She looks like what muggles think witches are supposed to look like." Mike said with a scowl.
"Dissendium." I said tapping the statue with my wand.
The whole statue smoothly moved forward to reveal a path leading into the dark. We quickly got in the tunnel and the statue moved to cover it. It was completely dark so Mike and Terry cast a light spell and we pressed forward. We walked in the damp narrow tunnel for easily an hour before finally reaching a ladder that we climbed and pushed up the hatch to the Honeydukes shop cellar.-
"The air slls sweet. Where is this?" Mike asked curiously.
"The cellar of Honeydukes, the candy shop in Hogsade." I said as I dusted off my robes.
"Perfect! This was where I wanted to go to begin with." he said excitedly.
"Just make sure you don't spend all your money on treats. You'll regret it if you do." I warned but didn't stop him.
