Now reading: Chapter 117 117: Hagrid from Harry Potter: Multiversal Merchant, a Adventure novel by loskro.

I briefly extended my Haki fully and while selectively ignoring the naughty bits I spotted, quickly found the half giant. He was out in his garden at the edge of the school grounds where the forest started. He was pruning the pumpkin vines while secretly leaving a few drops of growth potion on the ground near the pumpkins roots. I brought my haki back to the normal range once I saw this and headed for the doors outside the castle. Technically I could have just jumped out a window since fall damage for a Logia isn't really a thing but that would be foolish of .-

It took thirty minutes to pass from the third floor to the rough gravel path leading to Hagrid's hut. I thought it rather funny that the half giant himself was looking at a large wooden barrel in confusion when I approached.

"That was my doing, not to worry." I called out.

He looked up and locked those large brown eyes on curiously.

"Well that explains that but why have it brought to ? I don't reckon we know each other do we?" He asked with that accent of his.

"True enough but I aim to change that. Introductions are in order I suppose. Alexander Drake, aspiring rchant. And you Rubeus Hagrid are sothing of a locally renowned expert on magical and nonmagical beasts." I said and he blushed a bit and chuckled in embarrassnt as he shook his head.

"I wouldn't call myself an expert. Not like Professor Kettleburn at least." he said humbly.

"Humility is good but too much is poison. I have a bit of a problem involving a beast I have coming in that I assud you'd help with, I can pay of course if that helps." I said calmly.

"What sort of beast?" he asked more intrigued than cautious now.

"You could say Phoenix adjacent. Large, flaming and with the ability to be reborn from it's own ashes if the right conditions are t." I said and his eyes widened.

"Bliy, you sure that's not just a Phoenix?" he asked in shock.

I nodded "It's not, if you agree to my idea you'll naturally understand how it's different. That barrel of sulfur is it's food by the way." I said and he finally seed to catch on.

"You want to look after it?" he asked and I nodded.

"For obvious reasons I can't exactly have it in the castle so naturally I need soone else trustworthy to take care of it. The rumors all pointed to you." I said seriously.

"Well I'd love to help you lad really I would but this sounds like sothing you should run by Dumbledore first." he said reluctantly.

"He already knows it's coming. I've promised him that he'll be the first to see it when it gets here in fact." I said frankly.

"Well in that case I'd love to see to the beauty then. Need to know all about it first though. Wouldn't do to have it uncomfortable now would it?" he said completely ignoring the idea of being paid for this.

I could agree with that easily enough and began listing off everything I knew about the bird. I ntioned how it lived in a desert environnt and how it ate flas and sulfur. I explained how it's rebirth function worked which finally had the man agree it wasn't a phoenix but was quite similar. He was quite clear likely due to Dumbledore's Phoenix that a true Phoenix doesn't need any special condition to be reborn from their ashes.-

"Now then on to the matter of paynt." I said causing him to pause.

"I don't need any paynt, privilege of caring for such a rare creature is enough for ." he said waving it off.

"Nonsense, as a rchant proper paynt is simply essential! But since your love of rare beasts is so great why don't I trade you one in exchange for your help in this matter?" I suggested with a grin.

"What do you an?" he asked confused.

I reached into my robes and fished out the two eggs I long since prepared.

"One is a Dimorphodon egg, the other a Raptor. I will let you choose one as your paynt. Naturally you can also trade for the other as well. Personally I suggest the Dimorphodon since it'll be like owning a mini-dragon, without the fire of course." I said honestly as I held both eggs out.

"Not familiar with those nas, what are they?" He asked as he eyed the eggs eagerly.

"Prehistoric beasts, dinosaurs. I have a way to get such things. You'll not find anyone else who can say the sa." I said temptingly.

"Interesting little fella aren't you? Alright I'll bite what do you want for them?" he asked.

"One of them you can have as paynt. The other I want materials for. I know you regularly harvest rare and valuable things from the various beasts in the forest, you even have Fwoopper feathers just being used as wind chis on your huts eave." I said pointing at the decoration in question with my nose and a head tilt.

"Just that? Sure! I've got plenty of that sort of stuff! Co in and take your pick while I get these little beauties settled in!" he said taking the two eggs from carefully and moving towards his hut.
